  7. Hey Hoping I could get some Opinions on My ASM #4...unfortunately its got A Heartbreaking Stain on the back .....Looks to me to be Black Ink...It bleeds through the back and bleeds through 4 of the interior pages... no clue what effect this kind of stain has but I know its probably got to be significant. thanks
  8. where do you see 2.0? On Heritages Page it says the comic is "Fair"....I thought Fair was 1.0?
  9. Hey Just hoping somebody with a little more Knowledge of The Business side of comics could help me out here... I ran across something, and I cant quite figure out the endgame here... so I found this ASM #1 selling on Ebay ---https://www.ebay.com/itm/1963-Amazing-SPIDER-MAN-1-Marvel-Comics-est-2-5-GD-1st-ORIGIN-CHAMELEON/202578186321?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3De51a8f574e144bbd8be593a68a1eff0d%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D162404346574%26itm%3D202578186321&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 ....as soon as I saw it I recognized it....I was looking through Heritage the other day, I saw this ASM #1 sold just 3 months--https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-amazing-spider-man-1-marvel-1963-condition-fr/a/121840-11220.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Obviously its the same exact book. So I'm assuming, someone bought this book with the attentions of Flipping it...because It makes no sense to buy it and sell it within 3 months if it was personal.. but what I dont understand is why the person bought it at all as an Investment? It sold on Heritage for $4500.00 and was graded as FAIR... yet Now The Seller has it listed as a 2.5 on EBay... So its clear The buyer is intentionally lying about the grade to try and get more money. do you think this was the plan all along...the buyer bought the book from heritage with the intentions of Lying about the grade to try flip it?
  10. question for someone who knows more about comics and selling than me.... doesnt it cost between 30 to 60 dollars to have a comic graded at CGC? Why would some send in Daredevil 192 to 280 and spend 30 to 60 dollars each getting the slabbed....? I just looked up past sales for 9.8 DD 200 to 250....and They go between 20 to 60 dollars... I could understand why someone would send them in if It was a personal collection....But why send them to CGC and spend 30 to 60 Dollars Slabbing them and when You at best Might break even reselling them...?
  11. Run Of New Mutants....Its starts at 20 and goes to 85...I think there is only 3 books missing. IMO The Average Grade of This run Is 8.0 + https://www.ebay.com/itm/273676823315
  12. **STRANGE TALES Run #117-#183 **SILVER AGE**(4.0 to 6.0). 13. Here some pictures of My Keys- Only have a group pic of my #181...
  14. thank you...I post there quite often... But this one was more of a grading issue....I wanted to know more what the damage was and how much it effects the grade than the actual grade itself.
  15. I just recently joined this board...Its opened up a completely new world to me....I Plan on Buying and selling comics on the Forum for the next 20 years and I've learned its important to have a Kudo's Thread. please leave feedback if you've bought something from me thanks
  16. I also have one more question for experienced collectors... in this case, who it be better just to tear off where the restoration is...It would probably be about a 3/4 to 1 inch spot missing from the cover... but The comic would then no longer be Restored.... basically would the comic be more valuable as is restored...Or would it be more valuable as NOT restored but missing a small piece of the cover thanks
  17. When I went through My collection upon Inheriting it... 95% of the collection was without restoration. but I did find issues with restoration, and Every single issue had the exact same type, almost exactly similar to the picture in the OPs thread. They all had slight amateur color touch with markers...most were 2 or 3 tiny spots on the cover, usually on spine covering tiny color breaks... My grandfather accumulated his entire collection over a 6 months period of time in the 1980's where bought Collections from Many different people. I'm convinced, All the comics that I found in my collection that have this restoration, came from a single person whom My grandfather purchased their collection...I'm betting it was either an experienced comic collector who purposely restored them to try to make them look better or I bet it was someone who didnt even know they were hurting the value of the books and just did it to try to make them look better. either way, before joining this board....I used to think that Kind of restoration was a death sentence....I figured the books literally had no value anymore... Happy to now know they arent completely valueless...
  18. just hoping someone could give me their opinion on the grade of this book and how much the damage effects the grade at the top of the book, There is damage but it doesnt show through to the other side of the cover any thoughts would be great thanks
  19. I was literally going to add at the end of my post... "and If I had the money, I would be proud to buy and have Yours Too" Doubles bring great Joy too
  20. I joined this site 2 months ago... It opened up a new world to me... In my time on this forum in the last 2 months....This forum can bring you Great Joy and be quite brutal...by constantly having to see Comics you want or Have... You can either feel extremely grateful when you see comics you also have or comics that you have that others dont....Or it can be quite brutal seeing comics you dont have that you want so badly. In this case...This thread makes me feel so Grateful....I have all of these books in this thread. and like this thread, Mine are Raw and it shockingly similar grades...
  21. I completely understand not feeling the need to slab a book because you have no intentions of ever selling it. I have around 85 Books of comics and around 1200 Key issues and Literally not 1 is slabbed and the reason why is ... A. I'm extremely inexperienced and didnt know the importances of Slabbing until a few months. but B. because as you said, even now after I know If you want to get top dollar, they need to be slabbed, I still havent slabbed any because I have no indentation of ever selling my comics. but I must say...My collection is not 1 of the worlds best. I dont have 9.4...9.6 and 9.8 comics....I dont have The Worlds great comic book. I think if I had Extremely high grades of Holy Grails....I couldnt help but get them graded even though I would have no intentions of selling them... If I had a Near Mint copy of Amazing Fantasy 15....theres a very good chance I would write in my will that the comic is to be put in me coffin when I die and comes with me to the grave...I would never sell it, But I dont think I could NOT Not get it graded...I would want to know exactly how high the grade is and to be honest I would want to show it off, especically If it was the best or one of highest graded AF 15s known as for the dave... He supposedly has the basically 2 the greatest comics book on earth...The best copy of action #1 and Detective 27.... like him, I would never sell them...But My god, I would WANT to KNOW if they truly are in fact the BEST and if they were , if they came back as The Highest greatest copies...again to be honest I would want to show them off as The 2 greatest comics on earth....I would want to see The Grades proving they are the worlds greatest comics. I wouldnt like that theres always that "well Dave susposedly has the best known copies"....I would want concrete proof they are in fact the the highest graded Action 1 and Detective 27 books in the world. but again these are my thoughts about ONLY the BEST comics... for any other situation I completely agree and understand why people dont slab... I just dont think I could help myself, If I truly had one of if not the Greatest Known copy of a Holy grail....I would have to get it graded for confirmation and because I would want to show it off and want people to know....I own the greatest comic on earth.
  22. Does anyone else just pretend Amazing Fantasy 15 doesnt exist....because you know its now too late to get one ? for me, I'm basically blocking it out like the book doesnt even exist so it doesnt bother me that I dont have it and cant get it. I have an almost complete Amazing Spider-Man set from 1 to 670...I'm missing 3,8,11,12,13 and 14 from having a complete set....I know longer even consider Amazing Fantasy 15 missing nor do I think about it as a book I need to complete the collection...I have SHUNNED this book because The Pain of knowing I'll never have bothers me too much. desperate I know....but I recommend giving it a try if you dont have it.....at this point,Its going to be extremely difficult to get one and only getting harder...The Overwhelmingly majority who wants one...at this point will never have one now....I recommend SHUNNING this book and pretending it doesnt exist...instead of constantly holding out false hope you'll ever get it... PS, This is a total compliment....the fact are This book Is so Astonishingly Incredible...I cant take the pain of not having it...therefor I completely dont think about it ever, and pretend it doesnt exist.
  23. my bad I was looking at the price guide which says a 7.5 worth 660 K.....but Recent sales are much higher. but still the total would be close to 2 million for the 11 books. 28 is about 60 to 80K 30,32,34,35,36 and 37 are about a combined 150 K in value. 31, 33 and 38 are about a 100 to 150 K each at 9.0 29 Is the most intriguing ...with it being a 9.6...it could go for crazy money... but thats about ... 1.5 Million for 27 230 K for 28,30,32, 34,35,36 and 37 and 450 ish K for 31,33 and 38 so were talking around 2.2 M (not counting 29)
