  1. Only Got these 2 awful Pics Of Mine...but Its A DC #359 Its About 3.5 to 4.5... Paid $35.00 for it in 2007
  2. thanks everyone for the input...I got the answers I was looking for..
  3. I cant believe I didnt run into one... I inherited a 175 Boxes collection... I went through nearly 50,000 comics and never ran into this flaw and didnt even know it existed until today... Incredible
  4. could you point in out to me...the only one i could find is a CGC announcement thread.....and My comics arent CGC so I dont think that applies to me thanks
  5. This will sound stupid probably....but is "Double Cover" exactly what it sounds like? is it a manufacturing error that put to covers on it?
  6. ok I'll delete it... am I allow to comment here that I made a post on the For Sale Forum? Like...after I delete this can I post . "Hey I made a Post on The For Sale Forum regarding some Strange Tales comics if anyone is interested"?
  7. Love this story....reminds of a story my dad told me a hundred times... He had a FF #1 back in the 80's....and always went to the same comic shop to buy comics weekly. He told me he bought and lost his FF 1 probably 30 times... whenever my dad needed fast cash from something, He would take his FF1 up to the comic shop, and The owner would loan him 100$ on it...He had 2 weeks to pay him back before he put it back up on the wall for sale....My dad said he did it probably 30 times...always went back a got it before it went up on the wall... Like you with The TTA 27 being 75$.... I too was amazed that a FF1 could be bought for 100 dollars in the 80's...but my dad said it was completely normal... He ran a Body Shop and Car Lot in the 70s and 80s....So people were always coming in with tools and car parts he wanted, If someone came in with something he wanted and he didnt have the money right then, He just run the FF1 down to the Comic shop and get a loan...
  8. About 2.5 to 3.5.. Got it for $90.00 in 2011(theres an incredible story behind why I got it so cheap but too long and too hard to explain) Its one of my favorite books
  9. no clue what it is... But I had a box that Looked Literally Identical to your pictures It was a run of JLA Volume 2 or 3...the entire box was cover inside...half of the comics didnt have bags and backers and would disintegrate if you touch them... It was quite odd... your pictures immediately brought back memories...luckily the books werent worth much...
  10. Not interested in a Duplicate set of Conan I have starting at #21 are you? Its Solid from 21 to 170 I think... just throwing it out there...
  11. Heres a few Pics of My comic room... Key Issues are in the Filing Cabinet Knew a guy who worked at Blockbuster in 2008, He gave Me The these Promo Posters of The Incredible Hulk and The Dark Knight after they came out on DVD...
  12. Hey Hoping to get some Opinions on The Grade of this book. Its got a Subscription Crease and I'm not sure how to grade it. I've read SC's usually knock a book down to VG...But I've seen plenty of examples of CGC graded books on Ebay graded in the 5.0 to 5.5 range with SC's... any input would be great thanks
  13. Hey Just wanted some opinions... Its got a mostly Black Cover... there are a few tiny color breaks on the spine, Just wanted to know what you guys thoughts thanks
  14. just wanted to add that I literally chuckled out loud at your GIF in your signature OP also while the staining my be there on the back...I'd be happy to own a copy in the shape of yours...My copy is rough
  15. thank you... I have it graded as a "between 6.5 to 7.5(Most likely 7.0)" I Love this book....I remember when I was a kid asking my dad "who would win" between all The strongest superheros...Hulk Vs Thor, Thing Vs Iron Man, Hercules Vs Hulk, Sub-Mariner Vs Iron Man and so on... he would always tell me the stories of what happened in the comics, I remember like it was yesterday him telling me about about Tales To Astonish 93 when I asked him "who would win between Hulk and Silver Surfer?" I can not look at this book without thinking of my dad and smiling... same with Tales to Astonish 82(Iron Man Vs Sub-Mariner)...Tales To Astonish #79(Hulk Vs Hercules) and Journey Into Mystery #112(Hulk Vs Thor)
  16. I know the OP didnt ask, thats why I specifically stated I WANTED to KNOW... Its not unreasonable to say "Hey, how much do you think this stain will effect the grade"... I know you posters arent Professional CGC graders and I'm not asking you to give a definite answer, I get that all stains are different, But If someone is just trying to get a ballpark number like me, I'm not expecting to Quote you or Hold you to it... all I wanted was exactly what you eventually said " I would not be surprised to see a 9.0 book grade a 6.0 with a stain like this. It is a very bad flaw." ^ that was all I was looking for... When I ask these questions, I'm just looking for "Educated Guesses"....I dont want you or anyone else to break down the stain, Just common sense, When you first saw the stain, what was your first thought...did you think "Damn thats bad, that will probably cost 2 points?"....did you think "not to bad maybe 1 point".... If you are reading my questions and thinking I'm wanting detailed answers, I'm not....I do understand All stains are different, and there is no definate answer, But there are posters here with much more experience than me, and I'm sure a lot of them can look at a stain and give a pretty good guesstimate on how much that stain effects the grade ....and thats all I'm asking for...
  17. if the OP left it as is... how much would the stain effect the grade? the book look almost NM from the back, assuming it is 9.0 or better, how much would that stain drop the grade(Only asking because I have a few comics with similar stains and would like to know)
  18. I was watching a video on youtube the other day, and some guy was showing of some comics that he got pressed, cleaned and 1 had a tiny color tough... and He kept referring to the person who did as "My guy"...later in the video he confirmed it was NOT some huge professional place, just An experienced Amateur he heard about from other collectors in his area... Is this normal? can Amateur's do Great work like big professional companies.... are there people out there with the ability to Press and clean comics as well as The Big Companies? this may seem like an odd question but I'm new and Have zero experience in this realm thanks
  19. could you guys give me some advice of a comic, Its TTA #60....Overall its about 4.0 to 4.5....but I dont feel I can grade it that because of how rusted the staples are. I took some pictures below... can a comic be graded a 4.0 with this Rusted staples? If not please tell how much the Rusted staples effect the grade thanks
  20. Any Body got a list of all The books that are Keys because of Neal Adam's art? I think I got a lot of The Keys in the Major Marvel Titles ...example being like Avengers #93 But I Know He's got a Lot of DC Keys too....and I just discovered last week Conan ##37 is hot because of Neal Adam's art... Just curious if anyone might have like a check list of Neal Adam's Keys/Book that are value solely because of his art/covers Or if you dont have a complete check list, maybe you guys could just respond by naming which ones you do know of and maybe I could make a list that way thanks...
  21. I took these pictures a few days ago... I've always felt FF #6 is an extremely underrated book... when I first got into comics in 2006, I of course read and studied the Overstreet guide like the bible, and quickly learned all of The Key Issues and why they were Keys...but for whatever reason FF#6 just didnt stand out to me... about 7 years later I got a new Overstreet guide for the first time in 3 years and was going back through and checking how much all the Key issues went up in Value and thats when I for the first time really noticed that FF #6 was a Major Key and had some incredible significance going for it... I couldnt believe that I somehow Missed that its "The first Marvel Super- Villain Team Up" and Then I was stunned that I completely missed it was the 2nd appearances of BOTH Sub-Mariner and Doctor Doom... I dont know , maybe its just me, It may be because I overlooked the book for so long....But I feel FF 6 is a pretty underrated book, for me Its one of the most UNDERRATED Major Keys...
  22. thank you does the top staple look odd to you or is the picture just not good enough for you to tell... to me it kinda looks like it bubbles out, like instead of the staple being perfectly straight, its got a slight curve to it
  23. I just went through My Batman,Detective,Superman,Action,Adventure,Flash, and Justice League last week and Pulled all the Big 52 and Giant Size 80 Pagers ... I have Almost 2 boxes full of these... when I first went through my comics years ago, There was no notable increase in value between these books and others...but 2 weeks ago I went through a new guide and Nearly all of them JUMP in value 25% to 30% from the previous book... I wouldnt call them KEYS, but there certainly seems to be a market for them... I havent got mine graded yet, but I couldnt believe how many I found... I also have a very hard time trying to grade these books because they are so much thicker, sometime the spine looks weird and I dont know if thats damage or just normal...
