  1. I wish the seller would list them in the "modern" comic category so that it wouldn't show up on filtered "golden age" results. Did it appear that the scanner/reprinter edited any of the scans? Like cleaning up markings and balancing colors? I'd pick up a copy if they made it look pretty.
  2. I think this one is tougher to find than the TAT4.
  3. I am "some dude"! I didn't think it was that rare, but I didn't have a copy...
  4. That doesn't look like Baker to me. It does look like Colletta though.
  5. That TAT4 is mine!!! I am jealous about your recent TAR/DS wins. Both of those looked pretty nice.
  6. Pictorial 15 is a favorite Baker cover of mine. Nice score!
  7. Want to get that issue, but then I'll have to collect the rest of the series!
  8. I tried and failed by several hundred.
  9. These story titles are AWESOME! HAHAHA The headlights ain't bad either.
  10. Anyone have an extra Going Steady 13 that they might part with?
  11. Oh my goodness! A rare treat to see this. Who is this "someone" and how do I pester them to sell it?!
  12. If Vampi gets a pass, so should Dolphin! Love this Pike cover.
  13. My mistake, I get it now. Action Comics #2! My favorite comic!! Yes, there does appear to be some cross-over influence. At least O'Mealia signed his work.
  14. I may as well post the Double Action. These are NOT from my collection. I downloaded this image from the Dec. 2016 Comicconnect auction. It'll be the closest I ever get to them. The #1 shark cover is pure O'Mealia (published in color for Adventure Comics #41`)
  15. There was also the Flyin Jenny #2 in the Sunday auction. Graded by HA as a 4.0, it sold for over $400.
  16. I was just about to say: two birds with one stone! Here's a detail of my copy.
  17. I am a huge O'Mealia fans as well, but I'm not sure what you are referencing. Which Action issue?
  18. I would greatly appreciate any assistance in developing a list of issues from the UK weekly printed comics in the late 50's and early 60's of Arturo Del Castillo's comic artwork. Specifically Del Castillo's Man in the Iron Mask and Three Musketeers stories. My understanding (from various web sources) is that these two stories were printed initially in the 50's in the Fleetway publication Film Fun. I have not been able to verify this. Then, Fleetway reprinted the Musketeers story in their Lion comics title beginning in 1963. After finding bits of information on the approximate dates of publication for the Lion reprints, I found (after some REAL digging) two September issues and one October issue from 1963. Fortunately I struck gold with one of the issues: October 5th, 1963. The story title is "The King's Musketeers" and is merely two pages before it ends with "stand by for more exciting adventure in next Monday's LION!". Since my two September issues have no Musketeer story (Sept. 14 and 21), I assume the story begins either with the Sept. 28 copy, or with the Oct. 5 copy I own. I did find a few lots on Ebay of Lion issues from this period, but was outbid (you have to perform an advanced ebay search of international sellers in order to even see many of the listings for Lion comics, and even then is difficult to find 1963, 64, or 65 issues). I debated placing higher bids, but without any guarantee of acquiring more of this story, I could not convince myself to pay the high shipping cost to have 20 newsprint comics sent over to the USA (in addition to the actual bid price). I am unsure whether the story is printed each and every week until its conclusion or if there are breaks between the weekly issues. In addition, I have no idea if the Man in the Iron Mask was reprinted in Lion. Amazon shows a collected limited edition of these Del Castillo works which is "not currently available". Other book sellers that show this search result have a similar statement that it is not available. After more searching for this collected edition, I read that it was never published. Something to do with the copyright. I have been a fan of Del Castillo's Musketeers and Iron Mask artwork since I was exposed to it on Comicartfans. I missed an opportunity to acquire a page of original art from the Musketeers story which showed up on ebay not too long ago and sold for over $2k. Here's a scan of a panel from that ebay sale:
  19. The census only shows one 8.0 copy of Untamed Love #2. I liked how nice this one looked, so I bought it. Or maybe, I liked how cute the girl looked, so I bought it.... I should have taken it out of the bag for the photo. Oh well.
  20. I think I should probably start with GCD. That site is my "go-to" when I want to look up any comics. Here's the first issue I listed:
