  1. You would have to do this with the CGC "Walkthru" price tier, right? I don't see any other way that you'd get a book back from CGC in time to meet the paypal or ebay return deadlines. And then, after paying the higher tier rate you find out it shouldn't have been submitted under that higher rate! Frustrating. This same thing happened to me on an Xmen 1, but I couldn't return it because I missed the return deadlines.
  2. Here ya go @comicnoir! Only two copies on the census? Guess I better get mine in before CGC raises their prices....
  3. Was that main girl traced on Wedding Bells from Love Secrets?!! Or vice-versa. Wedding Bells' background man with the flute/clarinet looks pretty close to TAR17...
  4. I agree with what you are writing here, but the thread isn't about "rare" comics. Some might be, but maybe the intent here is to call-out collectors to submit their books in order to help populate the census and create a better/more accurate report?
  5. Does anyone know who was inking the majority of these Quality covers? They look like the same hand, but a few might be 100% Baker.
  6. He did some really nice covers outside of St John.
  7. I submitted this TAR25 myself. I was thinking it would be at least a 7.0 (was kinda expecting an 8.0). I guess I suck at grading.
  8. Can you all please stop bidding on the Comiclink stuff ending today? Pretty please?
  9. Well, what is the last St John you need? Maybe one of us can help...
  10. Is this the first Canteen Kate?
  11. I like low grade Baker! More affordable. Here's an under copy:
  12. From the notes on the paper attachment, I am guessing that Harvey had an in-house library for reference material. For swipe material? Perhaps to confirm titles already taken? One thing is for sure, they were definitely reading copies.
  13. I bought a lot of teen humor stuff off Heritage and all copies in the lot had a staple in the upper right portion of the front cover. Some books still included the stapled attachment. These lots were all low grade (brittle paper) but were kept pretty clean otherwise. The attachment says "Harvey Publications". Here's an example:
  14. Is this one yours, Sqeggs? Looks like the same printer mis-alignment. Last one I recall seeing for sale.
  15. No, this is incorrect. When humans settled on Mars they created the great canals mentioned by that pilot. Now, upon returning to Earth, they see that Earth has now gone and done the same thing, but for stupid reasons (mostly to make North America look like a big pizza).
  16. Gotta be one of my top five Flessel cover favorites! I love his bold line strokes.
  17. I can't even imagine what else he isn't showing us. Looking at those images really tests one's resolve in trying to focus their collecting habits! ...now I need a whole other room to dedicate to Colliers, Blue Book, Good Housekeeping, etc from the 1930's!! This guy was really good!
  18. Yep! It should be posted on page one. The man's face on Adventure 38 is not so typical of Flanagan, but the man's shirt and background plants/vegetation give it away.
  19. Awesome! Probably the only functional image in this thread right now.
  20. Second drawing being the top center? I cropped it out of "Fu Manchu's Daughter" from Doug Ellis' posting on Comicartfans (Colliers - May 1930). I think he's working on a Flanagan book (which I will buy in a heartbeat). He's the only person I know of who owns original Flanagans - and he has several. The other two men left and right of the bottom tier are also cropped from another of Doug's postings.
  21. I guess I'll wait until I can see what everyone else has posted before pulling and scanning mine. I really wish I could get my hands on some more of his Sandman covers.
  22. Nice job with the light blues on that background. Really got a nice even tone. Watercolor? I like this topic. I am also eager to hear what the process for becoming a CGC "recognized" artist is.
  23. All good things must come to an end. Here is the final issue of the short but impressive Flanagan cover run. Imagine if DC had kept the pulp artists of their initial publications to illustrate Superman and Batman covers! Detective Comics featuring Batman by the talented hand of Leo O'Mealia?! Superman by Flanagan?!! What would be your dream pairing?
