  1. I threw a bid at it. Not the winner. Hartley did some really nice covers.
  2. It sure shows up in the CGC slab though. Quite the difference.
  3. I'm going to have to re-watch Against All Flags tonight. Thanks!
  4. I tried to be the first to grade this last round of books. I believe I had my grades to Mike within 10 minutes of them being posted (I happened to be logged in when they went live). I may have whiffed one or two there...
  5. I have seen store stamps on backing boards, but never anything printed. Printing on cardstock requires specialty printers and is typically more expensive. Probably not worth the cost.
  6. I always thought that was Bill and Monica too. Hup. Maybe Crumb had a premonition.
  7. It looks like The Power of the Force line began in 1995. All the vehicles were recast from the same molds as the originals. I see many for sale when I search "Star Wars Power of the Force ATST". They should be a cheaper option if price matters. The plastic color cast is slightly darker grey than the original vehicle (which I would say is an egg-shell white).
  8. Mera swallowing aqualad with her giant clam???!!!
  9. What is your intention with it? Display? Resell? I have not been keeping track of prices, but I'm assuming a 90's version might be cheaper. Personally, I'm a big fan of those customizers who repaint the 90's versions for display. I don't think I'd mess around with an original.
  10. That issue should come with a mature readers warning.
  11. YOU DID IT! Or maybe Mike did it? let me try: Philip K Dick
  12. I wish they had used the Petty paintings on the covers...
  13. Could be one of the Queens of Mongo (Flash Gordon). They always seemed to dress like Dejah. Al did so many scantily clad women, it could be any of them.
  14. If you are asking about the cover, I believe it is a single piece of artwork and not a cut-and-paste of various material.
  15. Ok. I see the tell-tale pinch marks of amateur restoration. I wonder why that didn't get a purple label? So many QC issues these days...
  16. Any number of books with a slight overhang that's gone slightly brittle and flakes off.... is it trimmed? NO!! But I see everyone's point. CGC will make their own decision. Here's an interesting one: The top edge of only the cover wrap was hand-cut (wavy). Interior sheets were cut at once/together. CGC gave it a purple label.
  17. No, but it may draw more attention to the characters. Continuity will continue in it's current iteration from the books still being sold by DC. Plus, indy publishers would have to begin their own continuity because they'd only have free-copyright to the first appearance books. All the stuff that developed along the way would still be under DC's protection (Luthor is what, ten years out? A Superman story wouldn't even be able to use him initially). It'll be the other weird stuff that I never thought of for these characters that intrigues me. It will be BOTH good and bad. I wish they were public domain right now. The current world stage is similar to that which spawned these guys.
