  1. Not saying I prefer them but for many posed covers and splashes make for frame and display pieces. Yeah comics today seemingly contain only single or double page splashes with maybe 7-10 words per page.
  2. My third most wanted Hanna and one of my top most wanted childhood books. It was my first exposure to Dynomutt. Got mine originally in the early 80's in a school yard type trade. Turned down some lower CGC graded copies over the years as I figured 9.8's or 9.8 raw candidates would show up but to date none have. 9.6 remains census highest. Besides the "normal" Marvel Hanna reasons, the dark purple background on top half of the book maybe a contributing factor as to why? Apologies to Comic_Memories for scooping this up; for you it's one of the few needed to the complete your Hanna Marvel set but for me its the product of over 15 years of searching. BTW folks we DM'd on the side Comic_Memories is a true class act!
  3. IMHO 2.0, but from what I see in low grade CGC is more tolerant than I am - my guess is it will grade a 2.5
  4. IMHO no difference between a Senior Exec at large corps and racketeers. BTW Ive worked back office in Fortune 20 corps nearly my entire career. The evil that execs do hold no bounds. They are nearly as vile as politicians. Yet still not as bad as Comic dealers ;)
  5. Fact: Percentage of Senior Executives in Mid-Large-Huge Corporation that are Sociopaths far exceeds rest of the population. Much published over the past few decades but start here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/stephaniesarkis/2019/10/27/senior-executives-are-more-likely-to-be-psychopaths/?sh=42ab8fa247c4 https://fortune.com/2021/06/06/corporate-psychopaths-business-leadership-csr/
  6. Had an arranged meeting with Rich at a Rail Station in 2000. Exchanged cash for a commission. In person he was much taller than one would guess from his penciled artwork. (my poor attempt at a Groucho Marx type quip)
  7. 48 hours, 72 if a weekend or holiday is in the mix BTW i've made several comic original art deals (trades) over the years that had lapses measured in months.
  8. The Scooby #1 35 cent means competing with hardcore Marvel price variant collectors. 9.0 and higher will command what is likley to be decent coin.
  9. ^DD1 was very much a collectors direct sale only book from the getgo, although that was for other factors not Groo. The cover price on DD1 was rather high for its time. Most collectors bagged and boarded from day 1 While i do not know the print run numbers i do know they were high. I know of several dealers in the early 90s who had longboxes full of DD1. The book sits now unsold at under $500 due to low interest and continually rising 9.8 supply. Sellers are too scared to offer it as a standard auction as it will likely fail to crack $300. Same for Pacific Groo 1 but lower that amount to $195. Groo as you said is niche. In OA that is not an issue but for comics its everything. The nonsense announcement end of 2021 caused the DD1 to spike to amounts it will not sniff again in our lifetimes. The rubes that paid those lofty sums have exited the hobby
  10. It's yet another way sellers/flippers/speculators can manipulate many a collectible market, at least in "good times" 130point will show the actual sell price.
  11. Lou_Fine - My comment was intended simply as a humorous quip regarding of the going rate of All-American 61 dropping correlated to the Nursery Rhyme. Solomon Grundy, Born on a Monday, Christened on Tuesday, Married on Wednesday, Took ill on Thursday, Grew worse on Friday, Died on Saturday, Buried on Sunday. That was the end, Of Solomon Grundy. Probably would have been more on target if I had said Thursday or Friday?
  12. Even with minimal or less experience, he should be able to press any book into a CGC .5
  13. I have nothing good to say about Heritage EXCEPT yes they allowed me to change my default shipper USPS , from Fedex who are mostly incapable totally unable to actually deliver a package to the correct location if at all. Want to know why large Multi-national entities and their many, many subsidiaries deal only with FEDEX here is a piece of that puzzle: https://fintel.io/so/us/fdx USPS ain't perfect, and there is room for massive improvement, but their success rate % is easily the best in the USA, not to mention they actually are bound by Federal laws and regulations that FEDEX and UPS are not. BTW most FEDEX drivers are contractors, many are "sketchy" Sadly the only way around this nasty state of affairs with CGC using Fedex is to rent a PO Box. Yet another reason my submission days are over. IMHO if you depend on deliveries from CGC as part of your income stream then get a PO BOX.
  14. perhaps a bit less less funny biz/shenanigans on comicconnect?
  15. A buddy, who collects Sports Cards, summed up that type of situation for me recently; "Some sellers are D**ks". Not my quote but its simply a reflection of society at large
  16. It may be related to the size and type of image. I recall same issue at CAF. Try replacing image but ensure name of file is changed and if using photoshop save as Baseline Standard
