  1. Auction starts in 30 mins... good luck to all sellers and bidders!
  2. Howdy, folks! Ive consigned two great pieces of art for auction at CLINK, ending tonight. Steve McNiven Amazing SpiderMan #100 cover recreation. Steve’s an incredible artist and I really enjoyed his run on ASM so much so, that I commissioned him twice for Spidey pieces. As you may know, Steve is very meticulous, and slow. And you need to be very, very patient waiting for your commissions, which may take several years to complete, such as this ASM cover recreation. This recreation currently sits at $2.1K, which is less than I paid Steve for it, and it’s still significantly less than the $4.5K Spidey vs Green Goblin commission that I sold 5 years ago. Here’s the kinky to the auction: http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB.ASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DSTEVE%20MCNIVEN%23Item_1248807&id=1248807&itemType=1 John Romita Jr Incredible Hulk Double Page Splash. Man, does it get much cooler than a huge image of an enraged Hulk charging right at General Thunderbolt Ross, spread across two pages?! This DPS is currently bid at $1.25K, which is ridiculously CHEAP! Here’s the linky: http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB.ASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DJOHN%20ROMITA%2CJR.%23Item_1248814&id=1248814&itemType=1 thanks for looking, and good luck to all bidders!
  3. Miller hulk cover made a nice jump to $43K. McSpidey cover still at $68K. Which cover will come out on top? auctions ending tonite!
  4. Very true! And perhaps another example of increasing Aparo prices may be seen at Tuesday nights Clink auction, when the complete interiors to Brave and the Bold 132 is auctioned off. Don’t recall ever seeing complete B&B interiors being sold in one lot before... http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB.ASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%23Item_1248796&id=1248796&itemType=1
  5. I have contacted a few folks on CAF over the years, indicating my interest in pieces they own and to contact me should they decide to sell. i am very grateful they remembered me and contacted me with a firm price, which I readily paid, and I am quite confident I paid more than what the sellers would have received if they chose to go the auction route. So to all the CAFers who remembered my request for their art, I thank you once again for a great collector-to-collector experience and in helping me expand my collection with treasured artwork. ?
  6. Totally agree with you on the Bagley ASM 387 cover... that went cheap! the Ross Marvels splash was not a good price for the seller when you factor in HA’s consignment fees. The seller would have taken a loss.
  7. Um, I gonna say I disagree with that statement because that's not always the case, especially in a nostalgia - driven hobby.
  8. So now that the auction close is less than a week away, prices are all over the map. There's already some strong results and some that are well under FMV. I've included current prices to the list of my watched items above. Let me know your thoughts.
  9. Yeah, I wasn’t able to complete my thoughts, but everyone thought this way, then as a consigner I’d be better off to consign to HA in the US and pocket more money.
  10. Wow, I remember buying a two inch stack of of Sal’a ROM pages for $10-12 each back in 2002. My, how times have changed. ?
  11. If everyone thinks this way, then it will definitely impact the final results downwards for consignors.
  12. Cerebus, Brave and the Bold, Worlds Finest, Four Color Series 1 and 2, Challengers of the Unknown, Marvel Comics Presents, etc. anyone still collect Adventure Comics? Those last issues were digest size and getting difficult to find in high grade
  13. Prices on the Art Adams items have started off quite strong. So has the Barreto DC Comics presents cover. Bagley art has started off rather slowly, although there are some nice pieces in this auction. the Brunner offerings are also off to a nice start. man, who would have thought that folks will pay $8-10K for a HTD page in 2018! There’s also a really nice Ernie Chan MoKF cover flying under the radar ?
  14. Based on the horde of Aparo pages sold via HA, and their final hammer prices, I’d say: 1. Greed is good (hmm, now where have I heard that line before) ? 2. No problems with too many eggs affecting the sales price 3. Just look at the plethora of Kirby art for sale in every HA auction, anywhere from a dozen to two dozen pieces, with no impact on prices 4. If you can afford it, horde it.
  15. Just curious as to what you think final hammer price will be?
  16. More highlights in addition to the above: Greg Capullo Spawn #146 cover David Finch The Dark Knight #4 painted cover Kirby Demon #4 cover McSpidey #10 Wolverine splash Joe Quesada Superior Spidey #1 cover Walt Simonson Thor 342 page Starlin Death of Captain Marvel splash
  17. So now that the Heritage Spring auction is behind us, I thought it would be a good time to introduce the Clink Spring Featured Auction for discussion. Some highlights featured in this auction include: Art Adams Classic Xmen #12 cover, an homage to the Uncanny X-Men #1 cover by Kirby Aparo Brave & Bold #132 complete 17 page interior story Brunner Marvel Premiere #13 cover Sal Buscema Avengers Annual #4 cover Steve Dillon Preacher 49 page where Saint of Killers shoots Jessie's eye! Dave Gibbons Watchmen 12 page Kirby Thor 253 cover featuring Thor and Ulik McASM 311 cover featuring fishbowl Spidey Miller Hulk 163 cover with DD cowering against the Hulk Perez Avengers #7 cover Platt Prophet #8 cover Tim Sale Superman for all seasons #4 cover Paul Smith Dr. Strange #56 cover Starlin Captain Marvel #26 splash with large, early Thanos appearance Good luck to all sellers and bidders!
  18. Starlin Death of Captain Marvel page is still surprisingly low!
  19. Make that $9.5K. byrne stuff is still cheap with lots of room to go upwards
  20. Whoa! The Sal Buscema Spec Spidey cover is already at $8.5K
