  1. Hiya, folks; just a question Clink reminder these great pages are ending on Heritage tonight. Current bids are a mere fraction of what the pages normally sell for so there may be an opportunity for a good deal for some savvy bidders!
  2. Agreed, Chic Stone’s inks are awesome on this splash, and his thick figure outline inks really resonates with me because I associate them with “early Marvel” covers. This one is far superior to the other TOS splash!
  3. Hi, all: just wanted to let you know that I’ve got some nice Mark Bagley pages for sale in the Heritage Auction this Sunday nite, July 15th. Pages are: - Hulk #8 p2/3 Double Page Spread whereby the Hulk exhumes Doc Samson’s body and injects it with the ‘cure’ to ensure the end to all gamma-irradiated beings. Here’s the linky: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-and-andrew-hennessy-hulk-8-double-splash-page-2-3-marvel-2015-/a/121828-13004.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 - Venom 155p13 features our toothy protagonist at a rather interesting roast dinner. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-and-john-dell-venom-155-story-page-13-original-art-marvel-2017-/a/121828-13006.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=2|0 -Venom 155p14 3/4 Splash featuring Venom engaged in a battle royale! https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-and-john-dell-venom-155-story-page-14-original-art-marvel-2017-/a/121828-13007.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=3|0 and last, but certainly not least, I present to you: - Deadpool Assassin #1p23 featuring Deadpool slicing and dicing and wise-cracking his way through a group of ninjas. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-and-john-dell-deadpool-assassin-1-story-page-22-original-art-marvel-2018-/a/121828-13008.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=4|0 thanks for looking, and good luck to all bidders ??
  4. Without Steve Ditko’s Spidey, I wouldn’t give a rat’s Azz about Marvel Comics, and comics in general so a hearty thanks to Mr Ditko for instilling me with a wonderful pastime, and expensive hobby! ?
  5. Miller’s Spidey resonates with me moreso than his work on DD or Batman so it was nice to see someone with one of his Spidey doodles
  6. HI, all; I know most of the discussion surrounding HA auctions deals with their amazing quarterly auction material, and no doubt about it, they have been stellar over the past few years and I'm always surprised at all the good stuff coming to the market. Lately, the good stuff hasn't been isolated to their quarterly auctions as more and more great material is appearing in their weekly auctions, too. In addition to the strong results for more Aparo B&B, Adventure, Phantom Stranger etc pages, here are a few examples: John Buscema Savage Sword of Conan = $7.2K John Buscema Wolverine #10 panel page = $2.8K Colan DD 90 page = $3.8K Infantino Star Wars 27 panel page = $2.8K Gil Kane Micronauts #44 cover = $18K !!!! Also some good deals to be had such as the Bagley ASM page, Keown Hulk, Sienkiewicz Moon Knight page, Ditko Avengers Annual page and others. Definitely worth keeping a closer watch!
  7. Yeah, and others must have been thinking the same ‘cause it sold for $4.2K ?
  8. Eisner was so innovative, so ahead of the pack. He is Legend. To me, Eisner is the King of comics and stands above Kirby in every way. unfortunately, he didn’t work at Marvel otherwise his would be a household name.
  9. Has it really been over a month since anyone posted a comment on this topic? note: went to the Motorcity show and saw a 9.8 Stan Lee and Todd McFarlane SS for $4K, and a 9.6 for $2K, but I left on the first day of the show. Given Stan’s recent troubles and show cancellations, it may be difficult to secure his appearance for another sig series opportunity so just wondering what folks think about the asking prices for the aforementioned books? ?
  10. Alex, your wallet may be lighter, but as far as I’m concerned, you walked away with the best piece in the auction. Congrats! ??
  11. Pretty good info you've provided. Just to add, Dale did not illustrate Hulk 394...that issue was illustrated by Andrew Wildman. Dale's run on Hulk started with issue #367 (publication date = Mar 1990), and ended with issue 398 (publication date = Oct 1992). Within that 2.5 year timeframe, Dale missed illustrating 4 of a possible 30 issues. I will state (and this is my personal opinion so yours may vary) that Dale is by far the best Hulk artist we have ever seen. Sure, you may have been weaned on Trimpe or Buscema Hulk, but their interpretation of the character falls flat in comparison. I only wish he would have stuck around for issue #400...I think it would have been, dare I say, Incredible!
  12. Agreed...one of my least favs, too. Still, if you are trying to get ahold of a McSpidey cover, they don’t come cheap. I stated this one would close below $100K and it did. Others were more bullish and vocal about it so perhaps it fell short of its ‘perceived’ value by some folks on this board. and I will say this again to CLINK: having your Auctions close the day after a long weekend is a great disservice to your consignors, and the auction results for numerous pieces in their last auction validate this point!
  13. That was an extremely reasonable price for a page of this quality. Congrats to the buyer and seller
  14. Anyone know when’s the art auction?
  15. Meh. Why don’t you try and get some comic artists to the show?
  16. Hi, All; Spencer wanted me to mention that he will be setup at this show for the first time in 20 years so drop by Booths 419 and 421 and say ‘hi’.
  17. I will be there, too...drinking, not drawing ✍️
  18. Nope. He has the original sketch for the cover of ASM 300/301, as seen on his YouTube video about the issue. the original cover art to ASM 300 sold at auction a few years ago for $140K, and the original cover art to ASM 301 is owned by Vinny Zurzolo of Metropolis Comics
  19. Of the art that we know to exist, I’m surprised folks haven’t mentioned the Ditko ASM 11 and 28 covers yet?
  20. I think CLINK did a great disservice to their buyers and consignors by ending the auction a day after the long weekend and I will be discussing the matter with them.
  21. Whoa! The Aparo B&B 132 complete interiors just took a big jump! http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FALLSUB.ASP%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DJIM%20APARO%23Item_1248796&id=1248796&itemType=1
