  1. Hmm, do you think that you could have done as well, if not better, by selling the pages on your own? Only asking because there’s 20% commission + taxes added onto the sale price so clearly folks are willing to pay more, but I guess another aspect to this question is whether it would be worth your time to do so?
  2. HI, folks; I've consigned a few more Bagley Venom pages for sale at Heritage. These are great pages featuring Spidey vs Kraven and the auctions end tonight. Here's the links/pics: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-john-dell-and-scott-hanna-venom-156-story-page-15-original-art-marvel-2017-/a/121831-11017.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-john-dell-and-scott-hanna-venom-156-story-page-16-original-art-marvel-2017-/a/121831-11018.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=2|0
  3. I believe that’s due to a default setting and the consignors can opt out of it.
  4. Howdy, folks; I've got some nice Neal Adams artwork ending today on Heritage. Neal ghosted for Al Williamson on Secret Agent Corrigan for one week (5 weekdays + Saturday for six strips in total) in 1967 and I have consigned all six strips. They are all currently at ridiculously low bids. You can bid on each strip individually here here: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/neal-adams-secret-agent-corrigan-daily-comic-strip-original-art-dated-8-14-67-king-features-syndicate-1967-/a/7189-93274.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/neal-adams-secret-agent-corrigan-daily-comic-strip-original-art-dated-8-15-67-king-features-syndicate-1967-/a/7189-93275.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=1|0 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/neal-adams-secret-agent-corrigan-daily-comic-strip-original-art-dated-8-16-67-king-features-syndicate-1967-/a/7189-93276.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=2|0 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/neal-adams-secret-agent-corrigan-daily-comic-strip-original-art-dated-8-17-67-king-features-syndicate-1967-/a/7189-93277.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=3|0 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/neal-adams-secret-agent-corrigan-daily-original-art-dated-8-18-67-king-features-syndicate-1967-/a/7189-93278.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=4|0 https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/neal-adams-secret-agent-corrigan-daily-comic-strip-original-art-dated-8-19-67-king-features-syndicate/a/7189-93279.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=5|0
  5. I'm no expert on Kirby, but: 1. that's what the credits say on the splash 2. that's also what comics. org says
  6. The ToS #75 splash is Kirby Layout only, with Ayers pencils, and John T inks and perhaps that may partially explain its hammer price, whereas the #60 splash is Kirby pencils with Stone inks...plus as you mentioned, the #60 splash outshone the #75 splash.
  7. HIya, folks: I'm looking to purchase a McSpidey cover, ideally from ASM or Spider-Man. Fully aware a desirable cover starts at $100K and willing to pay $10K finders' fee leading to the purchase of a cover. I would also consider a Marvel Tales cover, but it would have to be an 'A+' example, and my max would be $80K I am also restating my interest in acquiring the 299 last page splash and will pay significant money for it, along with a premium finder's fee, cash. The above offers are all-cash, and yes, I am a very serious buyer. Please PM me with details. Thanks for reading, -Yoram
  8. I share your sentiment and your experience with this auction, Rob. A few years ago, I consigned some modern art to an HA signature auction and broke even, give or take 5%. Since a few years have passed since, I thought I'd give HA another try and see if there was an improvement to modern art sales in an HA signature auction, so I consigned some Bagley, Romita Jr and Keown pieces and the results were quite disappointing so I won't be doing that again. Not to fault HA, because they did their usual great job advertising and promoting the pieces for their auction, but for whatever reason, the modern stuff ALWAYS does better on CLINK. Live and learn...
  9. Prices starting to trickle upwards now. any guesses as to how high the killing joke page will go?
  10. You hit the nail on the head, Scott. I was definitely into Spidey and X-Men during the early 80's, but I didn't know anybody that collected Dr. Strange. We all considered him to be a 4th tier hero not worthy of our time so I can totally see how this issue was overlooked.
  11. Yes, I've also consigned the Venom covers as follows: Bagley Venom 157 cover featuring Kraven triumphant over Venom, Ending Fri, Aug 3rd: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-venom-157-cover-original-art-marvel-2017-/a/7189-92012.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Bagley Venom 156 cover featuring Kraven ready to strike a fatal blow to Venom, Ending Sat, Aug 4th: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-and-andrew-hennessy-venom-156-cover-original-art-marvel-2017-/a/7189-93291.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=2|0 Bagley Venom 165 splash, a great cover-quality image of Venom and cast, Ending Sat, Aug 4th: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-and-scott-hanna-venom-165-splash-page-20-original-art-marvel-2017-/a/7189-93292.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=3|0
  12. Its nice to see this book getting the recognition it deserves. Hobby was such a great character and his introduction into the ASM universe kept me wanting more!
  13. Man, its been so quiet on the boards over the past few weeks, with no discussion about the HA signature auction ending this week!
  14. I think those collectors are a very passionate and vocal minority.
  15. You think you got it bad? Try living in Canada or some of the Nordic countries!
  16. Howdy, folks! With San Diego in full effect, I just wanted to let everyone know that I've got two killer Venom splashes for sale on Heritage. The first splash is from Venom 157 and features Eddie Brock/Venom trapped under a mountain of heavy debris, and is a fantastic homage to Ditko's classic "If this be my destiny" story. The auction ends Sunday, July 22nd, and the current high bid is a mere $160. Here's the direct link to the page on Heritage: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-john-dell-and-scott-hanna-venom-157-splash-page-20-original-art-marvel-2017-/a/121829-14008.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Additionally, I also have for sale a fantastic cover quality splash from Venom #165p20. The auction ends Saturday, Aug 4th and the current high bid is only $90 so both splashes are well below market value and very, very affordable. Here's the direct link to the page on Heritage: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-and-scott-hanna-venom-165-splash-page-20-original-art-marvel-2017-/a/7189-93292.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=4|0 Thanks for looking, and good luck to all bidders
  17. Yes, it was, and someone snapped it up rather quickly from Burkey
