  1. So how many covers a month does she typically do? Does she ever do insides? I just heard of her. Mainly because I have barely been inside of comic shops in the last 2 years after my main LCS closed in March 2019 (or was it 2018?) and the ones I do go inside of on rare occasions I don't have the chit chat back and forth with the staff like I used to at my main LCS ... the folks at Midtown are professional, but they aren't there to bullsh**t with me. I used to have a better idea of who the hot artists were by looking at their new variant rack at my old shop and asking the young guys who worked at the shop about them.
  2. OK, understanding a chunk of this is in the #1, but this is pretty encouraging for the set. I guess #1 is Sonja's 7th or 8th comic appearance? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Feature-1-7-Marvel-Comics-Red-Sonja-1975-76-lot-set-run-1-2-3-4-5-6-7/193804759476?hash=item2d1fa9f1b4:g:WkEAAOSwey1fsTU8
  3. HUH? This is more than slabbed 9.4s sold for around the same day: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Feature-Vol-2-1-Red-Sonja-begins-Frank-Thorne-cover-art-NM-Cond/313244986310?hash=item48eedb2bc6:g:BZsAAOSwOqhfemlK I know this seller does well, but that doesn't make sense.,
  4. huge print runs? my old LCS had a seemingly endless supply of these in its dollar boxes. As I buy almost anything kieth (and wolvie and venom don't hurt either) I'd buy a stack and 3 days later there would be another stack in there. At some point I just stopped as I may have 7-10 copies of each kieth cover.
  5. The wish he granted went away. She never recanted the wish she made before meeting him. But she clearly needs to team up with some other baddies next time. Of course, what has she been up to for 35 years?
  6. there are only a few hundred nba players and billions of people and they aren't mythological. these folks would pop in on planets and such. and they were the generals in the clone wars, separatist wars, etc. i know, han and the other guy were kids when this was going on. they didn't have TV news, but they had intergalactic travel? (they did have some sort of TV on the Rebels cartoon)
  7. so where was she hiding between new hope and return of the jedi? i know she is around right before new hope in Rebels. In the comics is she involved during the time period of the initial trilogy? of course, lucas didn't have the foresight in empire and RTJ to think about such a complicated world with characters that had not been created yet.... the prequels were smart enough to leave open the possibility of plenty of jedi escaping, But, seriously, in new hope the empire staff is acting like jedis and the force are some long distant mythology .. the guy questioning "the force" (who gets a force choke from vadar) was 10 or 11 when literal armies of jedi were running around doing magic tricks! that was always the big plot hole i saw, han solo was alive and well when jedi were running around too, although i guess growing up in the slums of wherever he would have just heard stories about them.
  8. i am fine either way. i can only do 3-4 hours on a binge anyway before i fall asleep. mind you, i have a lot of shows I have enjoyed and somewhere in seasons 2 - 4 I may burn out and may have to return later. I am half way through the last season of last kingdom and just needed a break. ditto sneaky pete. i binged the heck out of gotham and got half way into the last season and needed to take a break for a few months. i had to wait like 6 months to finish the last season of jessica jones. i found the plot of the last season mentally exhausting. this is probably why netflix kills a lot of shows in season 3-5.
  9. Oh, and another seller issued me a refund on a book where he decided it was more like a "G" than a VG, but gave me the book anyway. Yes, i had bought some other stuff from him in the same purchase and have bought from him before. Books were packed in a box, bubble wrap, all good. So, I think that was 4 ebay transactions in a row where the packing was good,. woo-hooh! With that said, I have to say all the people I messaged nicely about needing more protection when shipping took the constructive criticism well, so that is good (it probably helps that I didn't demand a refund or claim the books were obviously damaged, so there were no strings attached)
  10. well, two auctions I won for $2 or less with free shipping (so basically the sellers got hosed) came (slowly via media mail, but I am not complaining) in bomb proof packing... the second one where the seller really got hosed came with extra comics, multiple layers of bubble wrap envelopes.... ok, my faith is restored
  11. Cable's time travel watch may malfunction and be a multiverse travelling watch. Who knows. Maybe Tom Halland peter parker needs to hide in the Miles universe while the legal team of Jennifer Waters and Matt Murdock clears his name....
  12. Nor I. I did not know how these even worked. The stamps came out when I was in nursery school, so not on my radaar.
  13. It could have used some editing. Even my fabulously gay friend who worships Linda Carter thought it needed some editing (but still loved it, but he's a choreographer and theatre guy). My wife did not fall asleep on it despite (1) drinking most of a bottle of wine; (2) drinking coquito spiked with even more run; (2) eating about 2 pounds of prime rib; (3) eating 4000 calories of Italian pastries (my wife is 5' 7" and weighs 125 pounds, so this is a lot of food and booze for her); and (4) us not starting until about 11 pm, and did not complain that this was the worst movie she had ever seen (and she generally can't watch super hero movies, but WW is different)...so for regular non-comic nerds who have some 80s nostalgia going and nostalgia over the TV show, maybe it wasn't horrible to them. (My wife falls asleep on nearly everything other than these 1700s/1800s English period dramas she loves.)
  14. Yes, now they can fix it, they were already this way and hydra was messing with them. of course, they're going to have to figure a lot of stuff out when they blend the universes as quicksilver is one of the more popular mutants in the x-men universe nowadays (one of the characters they changed, but didn't screw up in the process...)... the problem is if the infinity war saga's conclusion blended the universes they probably needed to explain that in spiderman or the end of avengers... they would have known by then... but they can figure this out, by the end of spiderman i guess we're only a few months into the restored universe? this does seem like something that dr. strange probably needs to be in on, but are they really going to wait until mid 2022 to get into multiverses (and I know, x-men are not supposed to be in a different multiverse, but this is probably the only way to work this out)... thing is, between deadpool and x-men they've kind of developed a pretty intricate world in the x-end of things (deadpool is supposed to be after the events of dark phoenix, so it all works out)... of course, if they do merge things, then the whole Logan timeline is wiped out.
  15. so a filled out book represents about $20-50,000 in lost market value for those books (assuming you magically kept them all as 9.8s..) so the book should be worth a bundle, right!?!?!
  16. "No non-drek was harmed in the making of this masterpiece."
  17. I thought Age of Ultron was great.. more specifically, James Spader, but yeah, I think a lot of marvel fans were rightly pissed off that they tried to rewrite the histories of scarlet with and bro as genetic experiments and that may have subconsciously irked them through the whole movie
  18. My local movie theaters are closed. It will be amazing if this has a $200 million box office. But I wonder how many people got HBO max to watch it? And they didn't get rid of cheetah, which was smart.
  19. I was only aware of the character as I have some of the later Charlton solo books. Didn't even remember DC had licensed it years later. I had lumped it in with Judo Master and captain atom as a forgettable attempt by Charlton to have hero characters to compete with DC and Marvel. They only could seem to succeed with horror and monster books. They did a lot of terrible war books with no soul. E-man was a fun book that failed. They got rights to Bionic man and woman and those failed. Space 2099. Doomsday+1. Even good properties with good art got the Charlton kiss of death. Where were Charlton comics even sold? I only remember them at gas stations in the middle of nowhere as a kid on road trips. Never at a newsstand or the comic shop.
