  1. I bought 150 as I may still have 100 from my last purchase of either 200 or 300. But yeah, I could burn through that pretty quickly just doing a monthly sale here.
  2. I tried NYC to Los Angeles on their website. In reality I would probably take it to my local staples ups store if i ever did send it that way.
  3. How much does it cost to ship a long box of comics UPS, l am trying to figure out the ups website, but it looks like it might be in the $20-$25 range, which might be more than media mail, but I'd probably prefer that to the risk of media mail
  4. Except it is far more expensive for us little guys to ship using UPS or Fedex when it comes to our smaller comic packages, nearly 2X as much. Maybe if you are a bigger volume shipper it gets closer. I guess UPS ground and USPS priority package costs are pretty similar if you're sending slabs. My understanding is that if usps did not have bizarre pension rules and accounting rules obligations imposed on them and were not forced to use fedex airplanes (which senator made that happen?) they would be fine financially (the airplanes part may not have much of an impact)
  5. yeah, usps is pretty much figuring out new ways to go bankrupt. ship folks priority mail boxes that they then cut up to make sandwhiches with and no send priority mail. not that you can't walk into a staples or UPS store and ask for a bunch of ups boxes and do the same.
  6. Those are not great for sending 5 or 6 books though.
  7. yup, 7 days so far to go 10 miles in the same city, sent priority mail, not there yet
  8. disgusting! need boxes of paper! blasphemy!
  9. No, I don't buy that, tons of talented artists out there begging to get these jobs (and plenty of perfectly serviceable art on comics), and the pay is not bad even at the rates for non-names for work you can do, at home, at night or whenever if you have a day job (or working from home like everyone in the business is doing anyway). I see plenty of good art from small indies, how much can they be paying? Nop, someone at marvel thought this was ok, or looked abstract artistic, or expressionistic, or whatever. that's fine for my psycho clown paintings, not for published works. even at the low end of $100 a page it seems the pay is not so low as to expect that poor quality.
  10. Not to just pick on CM, but this was from Hawkeye a little bit back? ... I guess what is shocking about the CM is how poorly the fact is drawn. And Frank Miller's Wonder WOman is pretty horrible..
  11. But seriously, what are they thinking? Did this person do it for free? Did they pay Marvel?

  13. so his response was 12,000,000X more racist than the cover?
  14. Some of your packages are taking a long time. My apologies. Time of year, I guess, maybe. It has taken a week for one to go 10 miles within NYC. So much for "priority mail." Meanwhile, Hawaii arrived 2 days ago.
  15. actually, a little cheaper right off their website, just under 60 cents each, use a coupon code and even cheaper. https://www.geminicomicsupply.com/shop/comic-flash-mailers/ coupon: CERTIFIED10
  16. 66 cents each, shipped: https://www.ebay.com/itm/150-GEMINI-Comic-Book-Flash-Mailers-most-Comic-Graphic-Novels-sizes/224003569156?hash=item3427a73604:g:2tYAAOSwv0tVdlhu
  17. I waited and waited for the best deal with free or cheapest shipping when there was an ebay coupon. I have no idea what they cost now. This was like 18 months ago.
  18. My friend who used to own a comic shop used to bring off duty cop friends to such meet ups . Well worth buying them some beers and food afterward to have peace of mind.
  19. I actually saw a dealer get conned on a reprint or two mixed in with a stack of real low grade GA books offered at a show for a quick sale. He flipped through them quickly, thought he was getting over getting a high grade book or two, lowballed figured he'd get the guy to take the cash accepted quick, had the lowball accepted, and the seller ran off. As he was re-bagging the books he realized he had been duped. But as for a non-comic nerd thinking they're getting the real thing ... I think they could pull that fast one for $10-$20 a pop at a yard sale or whatever, not so much a "meet me with a backpack of thousands in a parking lot" situation. Then again there are stupid people out there. Lots of them.
  20. OK, about half way through the first (and last) season. sad that it got cancelled. it is certainly growing on me. although once they wrap up this story line it may have been hard to keep it going anyway. on the other hand, moore had a good 60 or 70 issues of plotlines they could play with, so plenty of material.
  21. ok, $20 shipped... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dark-Horse-Presents-10-1st-Appearance-The-MASK-Mylar-amp-Acid-Free-Since-1990s-/143878679323?hash=item217fd66b1b%3Ag%3AOucAAOSw2Upfz~0F&nma=true&si=BZbpsjZvXBDBh7scMVfgI%2BAabNw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  22. Are they doing another masque movie? This book is a lot better than a dollar book, yes, but the way you guys were talking I thought this was a $100 book and that I had bette get my copies out... not so much: https://www.ebay.com/itm/DARK-HORSE-PRESENTS-3-7-9-10-VERY-EARLY-Concrete-Masque-Monq-/203175771936?hash=item2f4e383f20%3Ag%3A6AYAAOSwRRpfqtdO&nma=true&si=BZbpsjZvXBDBh7scMVfgI%2BAabNw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 (ok, it is usually $15-$20 or so)
  23. pablo marcos was an accomplished illustrator long before barry smith ever had anything published, but yeah, his barbarians were no doubt BWS inspired
