Thanks comicsforall for some 1000s, which I do not have and were immediately claimed by the 8 year old, some x-men, also immediately claimed by the 8 year old, and some dc hardcovers, immediately claimed by the 14 year old (he hates reading monthlies)-- although I am going to steal back the 1000s and black mirror to read during this vacation. And my wife was very impressed by the fancy red velvet card from papyrus, which I will probably figure out a way to reuse..

I posted a tax bulletin here from NY that basically said a used comic sale is not taxable up to the cover price. Beyond cover sales tax applies. Good luck getting ebay to figure that out.

It would be nice if comics published stuff like this... Fan art or even pro art from someone trying to get exposure. Would probably guarantee 5 or 10 extra issues sold.

Well, since you don't know what you sent, I guess it is all speculation. Probably more like $4-5 than $2, yeah, but they have SA books up there in VG for $2 as well. My guess is that what you thought were higher grade books they decided were mid grade or worse and paid accordingly. They price a lot of stuff in 6.0 or less to move. And the fact is with your run of the mill early 70s stuff they seem to have 5+ copies of that stuff in mid-grade already, so my guess is that their A.I. maybe pays less for stuff they have a bunch of? Hey conan, I missed your 10% off, when are you doing that again???

If they grade them at 6.0-7.0 then many books like those are $2-4 on their site. So shelling out $1.28 a pop does not seem nuts. Hack, they probably barely make a profit when you factor in other costs. You would have gotten $2 a pop here for many of them, but it would have been work.

That is an interesting array of potential venues for his work ... Hustler/Sex to Sexty vs. Good Houseekeeping and "mommy taking kid shopping" coloring book. The guy had a dream, had some stuff published, but I guess it was never enough to get out of the grocery store. Edit: Actually, looking on the internet he pubished a lot of stuff. I just guess it never got past the point of "side hustle" big enough to get him out of the grocery store. Who knows, he probably got bumped up to manager and was making too much $ to quit.. someone is trying to sell the coloring book on ebay for $49.99!.
