    CGC did not note the 1st appearance of Black JuJu on the slap. Huge oversight. There are a lot of 1sts, just not of characters that had any staying power. Not too many firsts in Master of Kung Fu or Defenders either. Kind of spotty on Luke Cage/Power Man/Iron Fist as well.

    I'll be honest, Famous Monsters mags were never any interest to me even if I was going nuts buying the other warren stuff

    Yeah, that's my point, many folks are both. I am basically a flipper on 99% of new stuff I get, I don't have much interest in keeping it long term.

    My comic goals are whatever. But I need to meet some Dave Ramsay type financial goals. Some of that will involve comics. Selling some at least. And get back on my weight goals. Had a bad December and November and made steps backward on that front.

    "Many more “flippers” as opposed to “collectors.”" We're getting pretty subjective here. I'd be flipping a lot more if I had the energy to. Does that make me not a collector too?

    35,000 in 1995 sounds absurdly low. I know some people were getting out of the hobby then, but still. Weren't there like 5,000 comic shops at that point? About 500,000 comic listings (could be singles or lots) are sold on ebay a month. We have conventions, stores, other venues. I'd like to think there are 100K+ collectors out there.

    Seems that 95% of the listings are for ebay+++ prices. I did pick up some cheap Simpson's comics the other day though.

    I I had similar thoughts not too long ago, but the thought of lugging 20 long boxes to shows gives me agida. Plus, having to pee every hour makes bringing a helper necessary. Otoh, neither of my kids seem to have any career aspirations, so they may have a lot of free time.

    Jeez Louise, now I have a lot of pressure to put together a good set for the raffle. Luckily I am 5-10-50 copies deep on some decent books so I won't be crying myself to sleep giving away my only copies.

    Can't figure out if this is a backhanded compliment or just sarcasm. I try to get the most bang for my buck, but I admit for years before my closest shop closed I would go there and buy 15 for $10 books out of habit when I skipped buying lunch. Sometimes getting to the 15 entailed buying some books I may have normally passed on.
