  1. well, it is sort of comparing apples to oranges (racism to porn). I am anti racism. I have no problem with porn in principle. I'd like to not expose young kids to it, true. And its probably good business decision to retire these particular books from publication. As for the cop killer stuff, I imagine ebay might take issue with that too. I can't really defend the lyrics. Record labels should put pressure to stop that sort of stuff.
  2. i find it mind boggling that dealers at a local show are unloading decent stuff at $1 a pop in this ebay climate. apparently some west coast avengers book is getting hot because of falcon winter soldier. i know i have at least 3 copies. in the back of my garage where my "yardsale" comics are sitting because i considered bringing them back into the house a couple of months ago. unfortunately, i have since piled so much junk in my garage since then (basically everything in my yard to avoid it getting covered in snow) it will take me an hour to get to them. are 3 $15 books worth it? will the book still be hot when I have to get that stuff out into the backyard in a month anyway?
  3. i was asking who the "artist" is. anyway, it sounds like she is making a request for services. unlike the male version of the guy saying what he's gonna do to some woman he is objectifying. totally different. anyway, this is a woman portraying herself in a pornographic way, it's a little different
  4. i have 50 of them, of course they aren't the newsstand. if i had the newsies these might be $50-75+ a pop and I'd be celebrating like I had just found half a box of black superman. i may need to age them another 10-15 years.
  5. who is "they"? which one is this? i've porobablly heard it on the radio. thankfully, i can't make out most of the lyrics in these songs. they're almost in a different language that my ancient ears cannot understand.
  6. stop making new stuff using those things, but as memorabilia or whatever, we ought to be careful about banning stuff. maybe ebay can let you opt in to seeing stuff that might be problematic. but yeah, maybe there needs to be something, because we have folks manufacturing Camp Auschwitz and SMNE shirts right now. Ought ebay provide that with a venue?
  7. yeah, the more i think about it the more impossible this really is without scanners that map the topography of the cover too so that bends and dips can be accounted for that are not visible in a scan
  8. I was actually thinking about this the other day. It wouldn't be definitive, of course, there would need to be adjustments, but if the program says it is a VF then VF - to VF + is probably a decent comfort zone unless it obviously missed something. Dunno about 9.8s though.
  9. I guess Marvel figured Iron Fist wasn't going to make money in China, so they didn't feel the need to make all the Tibetan monks white guys, although they did mix up some of the backgrounds a bit.
  10. https://www.cnet.com/features/marvel-is-censoring-films-for-china-and-you-probably-didnt-even-notice/ We all know this is in play (and why Mephisto was a likely no go), but I did not realize the casting decision in Dr. Strange, which Marvel and Swinden got hounded over, was pushed by this, and they couldn't really come out and say "this is why we did it," instead they got accused of all sorts of stuff.
  11. maybe whedon felt enormous pressure taking over this $300 million project and it brought out his inner a-whole that he had been been suppressing since the 90s? seems like the main complaints about him have been at the bookends of his career. although my friend in the business says he had this reputation all along. i can't say i haven't found his projects entertaining, although I have 6 episodes left in SHIELD and they have kind of jumped the shark. I'm still watching to see what outfits and hair styles Daisy has on next.
  12. yeah, i hate dumping stuff when it is worthless though. i remember doing that with like 25 copies of Infinity War 1 I had. And Walking Dead 9 - 11.
  13. The problem is killing off villians in movies. In comics that rarely happens. If Marvel had a cosmic themed TV show right now where we learn that he did one of his usual resurrections and is back, bit not as an infinity stone chasing all powerfull baddie (because none of us want to see that again for a while), but just a super powerful baddie who will pop up in story lines moving forward, then I think it would be different. or if marvel decided to explore his past through some vehicle. and, of course, he still exists in the past and can be plucked out of any timeline.
  14. Yeah, i know, jim lee, classic, that's why i bought 50 of them, but it seems everyone else did too. it sells for $5-10 if I include free shipping, which is not so exciting for me. I guess if I do it media mail it might be ok. i just need to wait. eventually it will get hot. everything seems to now, and then i'll forget to sell it.
  15. What was the print run of superman 204? I assume massive as it looks like I have 50 copies. Did anything happen in it that might be relevant? Not sure what I was thinking even at 75 cents each
  16. After 2 nights of mining for treasure in my comic cave for black superman i came away with 6 copies of Action 9 and 1 copy each of earth 2 19, 25, 26 and an infinite crisis 7. I really thought I had more action 9s. Oh well.
  17. I kind of think the few actual team appearances of the x-men between #66 and GS X-Men 1 are a bit overlooked, not the solo appearances by x-men members, but the actual team showing up, 3 members at least. I always liked this one.. yes, it is mostly just banshee, but the team shows up toward the end and it starts a few issues where the team is involved. There weren't many bona fide x-men appearances for about 6 years there.
  18. My point is folks being irate over 9.8s being expensive. Once upon a time most folks didn't even call stuff better than NM.
  19. so is ray fisher a happy camper now that he's in the version of the movie where he has more than 6 lines?
  20. I agree. I don 't mind breaking it up into two parts. But seriously, we have a pretty decent idea what happens, we know the bad guy (even if he is really a proxy for an even badder bad guy), we know the basic premise, we know he loses. What's the point of stretching it out too long? Snyder is there to fix some of the problems, add some more context, etc. Flash and Cyborg, for example, got virtually no character development. neither did aquaman, but i think i saw aquaman before eventually seeing JL on tv, so I was ok, but for folks who saw JL in the movies they had 3 brand new characters just dumped on them. marvel did avengers and virtually every character had already been introduced in prior movies, although Hawkeye and Black Widow were more cameos in those other movies. and yes, sometimes a character dump happens and it works out ok. x-men 1 was fine. of course, if I wasn't a fan of the x-men already, it might have been bewildering. my born in 1924 father liked it, but you also had some "mature" actors in lead roles he could identify with.
  21. ouch. the folks who sold nice copies in december and january for $10 and under must be thrilled
  22. The 10th episode of WandaVision! And they got it done for under $15 million!
  23. it sucks so much i eagerly wait for the next installment every week. I was like that for GOT, Walking Dead, I got there for the Sopranos, not many others.
