  1. Don't be silly. Something will catch your eye. I bought the Ross Hulk/Thing diner cover just because I really liked it. I bought the something is killing the children virgin cover at cover price because I thought it looked cool. I didn't even know it was hot. And I wasn't about to pass on an ASM 55 at cover price -- At the very least you may find yourself staring at a book on the rack that is currently $35 on ebay and say "I might as well" unless you pledge to never go into a comic shop again.
  2. I understand treasuries scaring people, those really are unwieldly, but not so much magazines
  3. The one cgc mag I owned a long time ago before cgc boxes was so large and annoying I couldn't wait to get rid of it. Dumb.
  4. On some they do though. The Raphael. 1 micro exploded. Savage tales 1 is sought after. Some others. Do cgc magazines fit inside cgc boxes? If so it really shouldn't matter anymore. I always preferred magazine size boxes anyway because they fit everything, but seriously. I think some folks were anti mag because they don't fit in a long box.
  5. I say it is nm so nobody should think it has a chance at 9.8, but it's a newsie
  6. I wish!! I have a beat up 33 somewhere and spotlight 28s, I'll just sell the mob knight 1. I have others
  7. I agree. Hulk is actually kind of boring to me at least. Even when he was smart/POrofessor Hulk he was boring. She Hulk was always more fun. And yeah, they broke the 4th wall years before Deadpool, but Deadpool got credit for it. Sexism at its worst. She Hulk is a second or third tier character because men are dumb and teenage boys aren't going to read a cleverly written comic about a female character unless she titilates them. However attractive they make her, she's always going to be a huge green lady, so it doesn't work for that. So the series would get rebooted again and again,. last a few years, and eve tually get cancelled. Women might actually walk into comic shops a bit more and read this stuff if men weren't in comic shops talking about the things men talk about in comic shops.
  8. As noted, Ta-Nehisi Coates is writing it. If you don't know him, Google him. He would not be brought in to write another white superman story. That doesn't mean we won't have a white superman too, because I'm kind of doubting Warner is going to put $200 million into an unproven commodity like this just for fun, and they already have a black Superman of Earth 23. No reason not to have a meeting of the two. The multiverse is pretty well ingrained in the DC TV shows, they just haven't toyed with it in the movies yet. With that said, it sure would be easier for him to write a John Stewart Green Lantern. Most kids out there identify Green Lantern as him nowadays. Mind you, the DC history of Black Kryptonians implies that there may have been some discrimination (and all black kryptonians come from one island on the planet (although it might be really big, i dunno), although I don't know if Earth-23 (and thus Krypton 23) had that history too. In Supergirl it seems implied that Kryptonian society had its share of classism and snobbery, at least that's what the Daxamites think, of course, they're jerks too.
  9. Yup, if that pod landed in china things could have been totally different.
  10. anything just happen with moon knight? i just got 3 offers today on a book that sat for weeks.
  11. that is Earth 90210 Jimmy Woo...TOTALLY different! also, aren't they referred to as the Avengers in the comic?
  12. There have been black kryptonians for a while. That on an alternate krypton it was a black kryptonian who shot their kid off into space before the world blew up hardly seems crazy.
  13. yeah, i agree, but that feels like not the best example, worlds finest usually seems to sell for less than action or detectives from similar years generally and that WF cover is particularly lame whereas the tec cover has a lot going on for it
  14. people like to see the 1sts on the cover. and some people do display the comics, with protective glass, etc. not that this is not a cool cover with all those great characters on it. but no, i disagree with you, the book would go for more were WW featured on the cover, maybe not significantly more, true.
  15. the problem is, while there will no doubt be (and are) chlldren of the heroes popping up in the comics, they won't be these kids... she hulk and hawkeye aren't having a kid, captain america and rogue won't, and human torch and the wasp????? so while the names may be the same, the back stories will be wildly different. what if 105 makes sense because that character is actually spider-girl and she had a long running series, etc. no way any future sarah rogers is going to be rogue's daughter. cap doesn't rob the cradle!! in the movies or TV we're gonna have a grandchild at this point and perhaps a middle aged child (and maybe they don't age that much due to soldier serum ... cap looked great for a 95 year old in End Game, the serum shaves like 20-30 years off) [Falcon and WS has peggy carter's blonde grand daughter, right, who was in some movies?]
  16. I have so many G.I. Joes from that era. I always bought them for a buck or less in nice shape, I figured a movie or TV show would make them pop again (the movies failed to do that except for the real keys, filler books remained filler). of course, THAT cover does not look familiar. So, I probably have 5 copies of 33...
  17. that strap drops the grade on every copy a point, so you have to keep it as a brick. rarer that way.
  18. Have they retconned Nubia to be Earth 23 Wonderwoman or is she still Diana's black clay sister?
  19. With the Multiverse, it seems anything can happen. Endless permutations of Superman. Will TV/movie viewers understand it? They got the spidey cartoon as a primer. While DC has usually used dopplegangers (or close to ... Supergirl has never really been Powergirls less busty clone in my eyes), I'm not sure they always have. And Marvel usually doesn't at all.
  20. He is Earth 23, so yeah, he is Miles Morales, basically, except a grown man (is he also president?), and DC came up with him before UF # 4... So my New 52 Action #9s should be worth like $500 each, right?
  21. Copies with restoration and known trimming that folks would not submit may throw those numbers. A LOT of these books have gotten played with. Who wants to spend hundreds getting back a PLOD?
