  1. Because his character is basically iron man? And Shaq forever tarnished it. The Platinum in 9.8 may already be $500
  2. These got out of the bargain bins with Captain Marvel. Everyone knew they weren't just going to name drop Rambeau and drop her. Marvel has diverse, 40 year old characters, they're going to use them. She won't get her own movie or show, necessarily, though I could see her being a leader in a group effort type show (Agents of Sword or whatever)
  3. Marvel would be smart to have a show that brings in different characters so that they aren't one and done. maybe WHAT If will go there. keep the IP alive, so if things develop. DC shows were good about that and DC has definitely been WAY ahead of marvel in generating reasonably high quality animated movies very regularly. those don't create the same sort of buzz, but folks who don't read comics can see the B and C listers and now millions of HBOmax subscribers will know them if they watch these cartoons.
  4. stop rushing these people! all this pressure has guys grading coverless books as 9.8s
  5. That book had already gone up a bunch because of Captain Marvel as it was assumed some Rambeau with powers would be showing up eventually. If we're in a world where 1st apps are chased, it should have always been worth something. this was a character that was around quite a bit in the 80s and 90s, but was never pushed as "sexy," so fanboys weren't interested, and even then fanboys often don't care. Harley Quinn's first appearace popped long before suicide squad. Way before, It popped when her comics started to sell well. "Personally one that I find extra annoying is the first appearance of Harley Quinn. Maybe it's because it's a kids cartoony book and I don't remember anyone caring about it at all prior to the terrible Suicide Squad movie." but that's the character. she got popular due to a cartoony cartoon. and so far her best version has been in caley cuoco cartoon.
  6. it costs about as much as netflix. i watch netflix 10X as much, maybe more.
  7. disney is a HUGE ripoff. lack of content. it is insulting. heck, i can't even watch the hulu shows, i have to have hulu and have the ones with commercials because i am not paying the premium for that too. it is absurd that hulu has not been merged into disney+ for what i'm paying. i feel like an insufficiently_thoughtful_person keeping it, but they have us hooked on a couple of shows. while I appreciate their focus on some premium shows, why on earth can't they also have some lower budget stuff like netflix? some of those shows are entertaining too, you don't need to spend $25 million an episode. the marvel netflix shows cost $3-$3.5 million an episode. wandavision cost as much as ALL of the first season of the netflix shows that came out jessica, luke, daredevil, iron fist, and defenders, and the subscribers paid the price. of course, people keep on paying the subscription fee, so disney has no incentive to getr more content out there.
  8. amazing joker did what it did without china. i guess folks in europe each saw it three times to make up for the lost chinese box office
  9. $29.99 is more than taking my 2 kids to my local theatre would cost and that's in NYC. Me and teen would be $8 each and the 9 year old would be $5.
  10. I have a ton of comics i would be happy to sell you at cover price. By "old" you mean anything more than 2 years old, right?
  11. My reference is the book that is $35 or $40 on ebay that you see on the rack for $3.99. Yes, you might not be buying it to read it, just immediately sell it. I agree, if you have no capacity or interest in ever selling anything, buying new comics is a problem. I agree, I am not trying to get involved with stories. Thankfully I am really bad about that. I usually loose interest in a few issues (which lost me a lot of money on Walking Dead when I stopped reading it in the late 60s). The last few years I have probably bought 5-8 new comics a year (it was TWO in 2020), mainly covers that caught my eye, some #1 I thought might be a big deal, whatever. It's more a matter of never say never. The fact that 98% of what is $4-6 now will be a $2 or less back issue later does create a big disincentive. I wonder if comic companies allowed some returnability of books, thus severely limiting the amount of overstock out there, if that would actually raise sales. Of course, we have decades of back issues that need to get unloaded, so maybe it is too late.
  12. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Don't do it. She wanted to get caught so she could get them all together and suck the life out of them.
  13. It got a lot of buzz, possibly because the epic imprint was new or something, i dunno. i bought off the rack, cover price. and if i was gonna do that i was gonna read it! And one of the issues has some side boob or something. very exciting.
  14. agatha is so popular they are frantically rewriting and re-doing cgi right now not to kill her
  15. yes. and the eagle personally told me it is authentic. in my visions. (wasn't there some of that in the comc? out of body stuff? i read it in 1984..)
  16. can't he just say "mother f..." a lot? never finish the rest of "f"
  17. sure, you're born with the witch gene. whereas it seems dr. strange's magic can be learned.
  18. It was written by a guy I went to high school with (ok, i was a little older), so I am ok with my 9 year old singing it constantly
  19. I am going to rush to get those Strange Tales 110s out of the dollar box now!!!
  20. Woo is working undercover for Fury/Shield because Fury doesn't trust Heyward. Woo was assigned to Scott Lang because of the pym tech at issue, which is universe altering stuff.
  21. Dottie. But obviously her mind got warped in there. Agatha probably cast the right spells before coming in to protect herself.
  22. Have you ever thought of a career as a war crimes defense lawyer?
  23. maybe we get a 5 second end credits scene where we have 5 of these demon type overlords sitting around a table saying "well, that didn't go how we had hoped"
