  2. More Kudos... Michael Gray (musicmeta) ** I had the pleasure once again of being on the buying end of a deal with my long time pal Michael. Many thanks for thinking of me first when you decided to sell some beautiful bronze keys that upgraded my own copies. Gotta love that! True to his word, and a loyal fellow collector who is always great to work with. My box of goodies was packed with extreme care and could have survived a postal football game. Thanks again for remembering me and bringing these awesome "keepers" to the BB13 vault. Chris Icamen (cicamen) ** This is becoming a monthly tradition! Chris is one of the easiest guys to work with. He always responds quickly to emails and never keeps you hanging long. Its a deal (or not) quickly and politely. You can't ask for much more than that.. except that he also pays immediately as well. Thanks again Chris enjoy that sweet book! Adam Charlambidis (jonah_hex)** Another HG collector who remembers a favor given... and returns them unexpectedly. Knowing I've been looking for some time, Adam brought me several extremely HTF bronze keys and gave me the best deal he could. One of which I've been dying to obtain for years. Thanks again Adam... can't wait for the box to get here!
  3. Naturally. They're high-grade Bronze Byrne issues and I've been trying to buy them from Banner since the time of the dinosaurs. I've officially given up on that avenue for my want list. I assume you noticed this, but maybe not... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2221261537&category=33826 perhaps you could offer a variety of worthy raw books to the 1st forumite that will buy and ship this to you? That way you're trading raw dupes for an excellent Byrne TU you need... no cash out of hand btw.. Kudos to FlyingDonut for stocking me back up with shipping noodles.
  4. I don't even remember the DC ones? I only saw Marvel?? Hmmmmm On a similar note, I did get an entire set of the old Marvel Stickers in a collection I bought 2 years ago.
  5. What about those Superhero Slurpee Cups? No one? • Original Artwork (from my 2 daughters). We have several large boxes already. Neither of us can bear to throw them out... yet. • Sharks Teeth. I have a bunch of smaller ones from various sharks and a Huge Extinct Megaladon Shark Tooth that's Millions of years old and an awesome specimen that cost me $200. • "Used to" collect old "Rock & Roll" buttons/pins/posters. Had a nice old Pink Floyd poster that I still miss. • Data • Scans of my books and other's cool books • Old Tools, but not agressively. I came across an old "mini-meat grinder" and "hand drill" at a garage sale and thought they were cool.
  6. ..also another great Ebay transaction with Darth! Very Safe packing arriving several days later.
  7. More Kudos for some forumites I've had the pleasure of working with recently... Perry Lim (spidermanbeyond) ** Thanks for the Hulk DVD! Fair price and quick, safe shipping! Thanks Perry Jeff Resnick (jordanabigail) ** My second big "buying deal" in a row with Jeff. It used to be the other way around, but what the heck. A good friend who's always great to work with. Thanks Jeff. Mike Pring (drbanner)** I'm surprised to say that I got a "Raw Deal" on this transaction!!! One of the three books was not graded properly. The other two were dead on. Imagine sending me a NM+ book he graded NM... learn to grade Banner!... I expect to get the grade advertised! ... seriously, his rep is well-deserved! One of the tightest raw grading sellers out there. Thanks Mike Conrad Wohrle (king_comics)** Another deal with Conrad. An extremely easy guy to work with. Fast, Safe Shipping. Thanks 'rad Chris Stoytchev (lordrahl) ** a quick, easy second deal in the making (and hopefully growing). Chris is great to work and chat with. Who knew this guy had such excellent books! Seller ID: Revolution-Comics.
  8. Overdue Kudos for some forumites I've had the pleasure of working with over the last 2 months... Ken (elbrujo) ** My first deal with Ken was a considerable one and went very smoothly. Ken's a serious collector who honors his word and keeps tight communications as well. I highly recommend working with him on deals both large and small. Should you be that fortunate, expect a very professional transaction with a courteous and passionate comic fan. Thanks Ken. Chris Stoytchev (lordrahl) ** Another "first deal" with another cool forumite. Chris was kind enough to offer me a very nice bronze key that is now my new "keeper" (and will be very hard to dethrone). He was a pleasure to work with and I enjoyed the email correspondence as well. His packing was excellent too. I look forward to more deals... thanks Chris. Joanna Sandsmark (joanna) ** Yet Another "first deal". I finally had the pleasure of working with the beloved "den mother" herself. I bought a couple of nice B/W photographs and received top notch service which is no surprise of course. Continued good fortune with your blossoming career Joanna. (lighthouse)** Always a great experience and superior service which is stating the obvious. 'House is the forum "brick and mortar" legend offering up "comic shop deals" that are barely worth his while as you all must (should) realize. We're all very lucky he's a generous fellow and offers us these fantastic opportunities... not to mention all his entertaining experiences. Bob (blazingbob) ** Kudos are hardly needed anymore. I bought a sweet SA FF that I was looking for (yes a SA key) and of course received the typical excellent service. Bob is also generous with his time and will always share his view and offer advice if asked. Thanks Bob George (gman) ** ... a related Kudo to George for the thoughtful assist in helping me obtain said FF key from Bob. If not for the email from Gman, I would have missed out no doubt. G deserves a little credit for doing the little things to assist his fellow collectors that are probably overlooked at times because people view him only as a "Comic Ferenge". Thanks G Dave Matteini (dam60) ** More of a "Thanks" to David for being thoughtful enough to take the time to record and send me (at his expense) a copy of "Comic Villains". "Whatta' guy"! Thanks a million Dave for thinking of me... I actually enjoyed the film too. Chris Icamen (cicamen) ** Had the pleasure to work with Chris yet again. Always easy to work with and a pleasure to correspond with also. You can always count on quick payment and no problems. Thanks Chris ...and thanks ( ) to those of you that have emailed offering a variety of positive vibes.
  9. of course Joanna... no explanation needed. Now... get to work! thought-1: will your books be thin enough to fit in an CGC magazine slab or thicker comic slab? if so, you could ask CGC to create a limited edition (25) signature series for forumites that want in on the ground floor of your impending run at the NY Times Best Sellers list. Of course, that would boost sales as we'd still have to buy a reader copy thought-2: Crisis could become a "pay per write" event in which $X per segment must be raised before posting... that will land you some pizza$ Seriously... congrats again! You must be so excited at this point.. you're writing "paid for" work. <----- Joannna
  10. This is sooooo Sopranos.... Woke up this morning, got myself a slab... wanted bronze high-grade baby, 9.8 is my bag... ...actually it was a rest stop not an exit... but that sounded even worse with the minds on this forum. Hey do you know when the new Sopranos/Six feet under seasons start? PM me if so.
  11. Tod (Tod09) ** Just wanted everyone to know that Tod09 and I completed a deal recently in person (we both drove an hour on the NJ Turnpike and met at an Exit). It was a pleasure meeting him and talking comics at Starbucks before we completed the transaction. A great experience indeed working with 'Eagle-Eye Tod". Greggy is not the only sharp-eyed forum gem-hunter... Tod also has some very sharp raw books and is VERY tight grader. He received a predicted high grade back from CGC on a bronze key I encouraged him to submit... and bought. Even though another of the same book ended up selling higher in the interim on Ebay, Tod to his credit, did not try and renegotiate the pre-determined, agreed upon price like some would consider doing. I respect that... and we both walked away very happy. Tod is a man of his word, his grading should be taken seriously and I fully recommend working with him. Thanks Tod for my keepers!
  12. convenient yes... but the sooner the corpse is 6 feet under the better. Make haste, the odor could overwhelm the house guests and prevent them from offering up interesting dialogue next segment.
  13. I echo Lantern's sentiments about Crisis having the feel/effect of an old radio program... entertaining as always. I'm not so sure you've put Dr. Gloom to bed quite yet though, by the next installment, if he's not in the ground... he's gonna get ripe.
  14. Codger-Man. Codger-Man. Does whatever a codger can! Is he strong? Listen bud. He's got Geritol-powered blood. Look out! Here comes the Codger-Man! In the still of night, at the scene of a crime He finally shows up to draw the chalk outline... Codger-Man. Codger-Man. Does whatever a codger can! Is he tough? Listen chum... he can bite even with his gums. Look out! Here comes the Codger-Man!
  15. I'm impressed that you can turn out a quality installment that fast... 30 minutes tops... not bad Joanna
  16. I've had the pleasure of working with these fine forumites recently... Mike Periera (nextlevelmp) ** Mike is a guy with serious collector's sensitivity! True to his word, he offered me a couple of sweet books as promised if he was ever to sell. He did so, even though on one of them it would have been much easier to sell it straight to a dealer that was willing to accept it in a "cash & trade" he and Mike worked out. BUT Mike knew I wanted the book and put in the extra time and inconvenience to help put it in my collection. Mike is one of the quiet mega-collectors out there and a class act. I can't say enough about how easy and pleasant working with him is... Thanks Mike! Jim McCallum (cgcworld) ** A new forumite that has been extremely easy to work with. Jim keeps tight communication and follows through reliably. I look forward to more "comic conversations" and doing more business with him. Forumites should not hesitate to deal with him. Brian Hampel (bhampel) ** ...another new forumite who is a "no-nonsense deal-maker". Brian is a very pleasant and professional to work with. Very quick and smooth deal with more in the works. Brian (doc)** We just completed a multi-CGC book trade. The "Doc" is a passionate collector that was genuinely excited to get the books he wanted. He was also very fair with establishing the value of the traded items, which is usually not an easy task. I look forward to future deals. Adam Charlambidis (jonah_hex)** Adam is not a very active forumite, but one I've worked with many times for close to 2 years now. Always easy to work with and extremely fair. I highly recommend bringing him your HG Jonah Hex books. (lighthouse)** Always a great experience. 'House was very appreciative to get a desired keeper and hooked me up on raw books very generously. 17. Supa posted it in General a few days ago... it wasn't all that big a deal really... but thanks. Where in Jersey are you located? I might be getting together with another forumite that lives close by...shiverbones. If you're not too far from South Jersey maybe you can join us for wings and beer when we get around to it?
  18. MAJOR KUDOS TO POV! I just received my Golden Age prize book from the forum contest... VERY nice! Many Thanks Michael for generously giving your time, donating the GA books, and even paying shipping fees! My sincere appreciation!! We sure could use more like you in the hobby!
  19. Thanks 'House... and also for throwing in the extra $5er for shipping. If you do find a dupe or a 9.8... please sell it back to me. Glad your...
  20. dagnabbit... I'm keepin' my gems from now on... mutter**grumble**mutter
  21. et tu Ricky?, then fall Bruce... OK then... send me back my 9.6 MTU (Torch/Iceman) I let go of
  22. Jeez... and no "pat on the back" for the fact that I searched for, tracked down, and obtained one of your "most wanted items" and coughed it up even though I need/want it myself... not to mention taking partial trade in new books for it that I can't read for 7 months.
  23. as did I... Don't let the "1-star" crowd get you down J
