  1. A minor upgrade to my raw copy. I know this is technically Silver Age, but I find it hard to lump anything relating to Adams Bats in that era, even if it's just the cover and story is as silly as all the other SA stories of the time.
  2. Yeah, I actually went back a few pages in this thread to figure out how long ago that was. It was back in June of 2014. If I do the math, it's actually a little less than $10. I got a package deal for a bunch of really good condition magazines for $100. Here's the old post: It's a great shop. I was able to get these two a few weeks later really cheap as well. The owner just doesn't really care about magazine size comics.
  3. Coming onto this thread late and I'm a bit confused. Are not limiting this to Silver Age? If not, I assume someone's already mentioned Hulk 181 and Conan 24?
  4. Did they do a separate printing for sale in Canada back in the day?
  5. BOOKENDS! Ignore the one on the left. I had that one already. Got the one on the right today.
  6. Picked these up at a LCS last year I think. $10 a pop. Seller didn't care. #1 is not high grade, but it actually looks much better than the pic. Lots of weird lines reflecting off the mylar.
  7. Nope. I put in a tracker bid on it at CL at while back. I think everyone just forgot it and I came away with the win.
  8. Yeah. Comix International and Blazing Combat was one of personal Warren favorites. Was surprised that I actually won this one for $58.
  9. Ahem. https://archive.org/details/comixinternational
  10. My time is worth more than the money on wasted searching the a-hole's books. I'd definitely past onto the owner my .02 before walking out. Can't really blame the clerk that his boss is a tool.
  11. All the Adams Bat books did really well. I was looking for upgrades and all of them went for far more than what I thought the upgrade was worth. They've been on the rise the last few auctions, but I was hoping some of the hype had died down since we're all long past the BvS movie.
  12. My only pick up tonight. Really surprised there's practically zero interest in this title compared to others.
  13. I think I might actually have that issue. I bought a whole bunch of SSOC readers a couple of years back and a few Sagas were tossed in the mix. I think this cover is special in that it allows you to "rough" date when it was drawn. You'll notice this is actually Barry Smith's version of Conan drawn by Buscema. The fur speedo and amulets only appeared in the earlier issues of the Smith run.
  14. Some LCS finds. The Heavy Metal is about an 8.0-8.5, the Creepy about 4.5-5.0. I got them both with a 10% discount.
  15. Great stuff. Lots of memories here. Amazed at the volume of work. Also reminds me of how many times I've picked up a book because of the cover just to be disappointed by the interior art.
  16. OK. Technically not Conan, but it's one of the best parodies I've read in a while.
  17. Just some relatively cheap pickups. Ignore Dejah. She belongs in Modern.
  18. My only issue with huge runs is the space that it eats up. My physical collection is very modest in size compared to everyone else's (one long box and about 10 short boxes). Even then, I still catch a lot of flak from the wife. As blasphemous as it sounds, I went digital with my full Batman and Detective Comics run. All the way up to the end before the New 52 took over. For the New 52, I stick with the trades. Same for my Savage Sword of Conan run. You don't get that nice paper smell, but it's very convenient and allows you access to 75 years' worth of stories.
  19. From the '90s? No. As far as I know, they're still printing them considering how many unopened boxes keep showing up for sale as cut prices. Dammit I'll wait another 20 years Burn them. The only thing you'll get out of them is exercise. It'll help keep the heating costs down if you have a fire place. Seriously, it's really comical that when it comes to the '90s, collectables across hobbies are universally worthless. I'm glad I got out of the sports card hobby just as this decade was taking off.
  20. OK. It was bothering the out of me not remembering which book it was. I was thinking of Tec 457. The whole book is drawn this way by Giordano. It's good, but I wish he developed his own style since he did have the talent for it.
