  1. Great books. Not sure why the Miller DD run is so undervalued (comparatively speaking) considering the impact it had on the character and the influence it had/has on story telling to this day. GLWTS.
  2. After only buying two books this year, I came home with this LCS find. Great condition and at $9 a pop, quite a bargain.
  3. Honestly, I really don't collect any more and only follow the hobby as a spectator these days, but I made an exception today. I stopped by my LCS just to say hello and happy New Year to the guys and wouldn't you know it, they acquired a stash of early Warrens that were in great condition. They let me have these on the cheap so I just couldn't resist.
  4. Don't plan on buying any new books in '20 unless something comes along my way that really catches my fancy. In fact, this is the year I might trim some of my books from my already small collection.
  5. This thread needs a BUMP!
  6. Since I only bought two books this year, I guess by default these are my favorites. Stumbled across them on the cheap.
  7. I don't show my collection to ANYONE. Even if I trust them, I don't trust anyone that they might tell about it. Got robbed once. Never again. At least not without me putting the thief in a body bag.
  8. Got off my duff this year and help organize a company drive for the Fisher House of Boston, which serves families of veterans undergoing hospital care. My proudest accomplishment in a long time. Hat's off to the crew of the USS Constitution for lending us a hand getting started. Semper Fi.
  9. I was going to say 6.0, but that might be a bit harsh. Maybe 6.5?
  10. This sounds more like incompetence rather than an intentional scam of some type.
  11. Just read the trade. Can’t say it’s the worst Batman story I’ve ever read, but I can say that I didn’t think it was very good and definitely didn’t like it. It seemed like the story was going in one direction and then they changed their mind and went in another. Reading the arc in one sitting made this problem stand out even more. Way to many guest stars without enough substance for each. Why were there two versions of Zatanna? Very inconsistent. I thought the ending was pretty bad too.
  12. I see this quite a bit in the sports cards world. Some cards will simply sell more in raw form than slabbed, especially if the eye appeal is good enough to mask any physical grade it can get.
  13. Ah, the westerns. I remember buying them as a kid. Such a shame the whole genre is essentially ignored these days. Kid Colt was always my favorite.
  14. Can you even subscribe to a book that hadn't been released yet? Someone would have had to subscribed prior to the street date in order to get #1 like that. Could you do that in the late '60s? Don't recall being able to do that in the early '70s.
  15. Nice. I remember buying all of them off the newsstands as a kid. Could never get enough of Spidey back then.
  16. Beautiful copy. Although this book came out when most of DC was still in the SA, I've always viewed this book as early BA. The story is very mature for the age (won the award for best single story that year) and art is very modern. Everything about it smacks of BA and not silly stuff of the SA. In fact, most of the Adams BB were like that up to the point when he joined Oneil on the Tec title. Very underappreciated book in my opinion. One of my favorites. I've got about 3-4 raw copies in addition to my slabbed one.
  17. I didn't see a thread on this so I hope I'm not duplicating. So long, Nog. You were a lot of fun on DS9. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=11&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjw8tv-xezkAhWkTN8KHXDUChEQFjAKegQIABAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fvariety.com%2F2019%2Ftv%2Fnews%2Faron-eisenberg-dead-dies-star-trek-1203344423%2F&usg=AOvVaw0aAbPOimuFWb8iKdL7phJI
  18. In addition to the above, the Dark Knight Returns.
