  1. Pretty stoked about this one. My first comic purchase in over 2 years and was able to get it on the cheap as well. By far, my favorite issue of the run and best cover in my opinion. If they ever retcon War Toy into the Marvel universe, this book would take off.
  2. No kidding. It's not everyday you have an angry blonde throw a giant pecker with nads at you.
  3. Best RS statue thus far. Absolutely beautiful.
  4. It helps that it comes with a very cool Gil Kane cover. Yeah, speculation craze aside, I've never understood this either. Usually, if the character was legitimately popular, you'd see similar spikes in popularity with all his other appearances, especially the 2nd, 3rd, etc... In this case, not as many people really care about his other books other than WBN #32. There's a certain cool factor about it no doubt, but other than that, I've never understood the insane demand for it. Don't get me wrong. I had a very nice raw copy back in the pre-CGC days and it was one of my favorite books, but I'd never pay the prices being asked for it today though.
  5. LOL. Just perusing through the book. Love the description for Power Girl 27 - “Ample cleavage cover”.
  6. My copy seems fine. I have the HC with Joker on the cover.
  7. Was cleaning out my closet and was moving a few things around. I thought I had more books than this, but it's about right. Started with NG, but when issue #7 shot up, I gave up.
  8. Printing defect. I personally hate these, especially the unsightly ones like this. Although mechanically it’s not supposed to affect the grade, I do think it makes it less desirable though. If you present two books of identical grade to someone for sale, but one has a defect like this and other doesn’t, I’d bet most would choose the unblemished one.
  9. I'm gonna miss this guy. Roy Batty might have been his best and/or most memorable role, but Detective Harley Stone in Split Second is my favorite. One of the funniest roles he ever played. Have watched this movie several times and it never fails to get me laughing out loud.
  10. Just for kicks, I just picked up these 3 books this week. The League of Regrettable ........... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1594747636 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1683690761 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1594749329
  11. I reported this a few days ago, but I guess eBay can care less, even with the weird COA.
  12. One of my favorite DD books. Pack full of action. I remember buying that off the stands when I was a kid. It was a great day.
  13. I actually came very close to flipping it before they even shipped it to me. CL emailed me immediately after I won the auction and offered me $400 to release it to another buyer who really loved the Fantis. First time that has ever happened to me.
  14. I don't have a lot of OA. In fact, I only have one page that's really worth talking about. 'Tec 823, pp7 - Poison Ivy
  15. I love Kirby's 4th world. Was one of the first comics I was introduced to as a kid. Was a big Supes fan at the time and that's how I wounded up with the Jimmy O's. By the time I got to New Gods 8, I was completely hooked. I had made an attempt to collect this run a few years back, but gave up when New Gods 7 exploded to ridiculous levels do to the BvS movie hype. Steppenwolf? Really? No way. Anyway, I wounded up getting the Omnibus and couldn't be happier. Still, I wouldn't mind having a high grade copy of Mister Miracle 4 (love Barda).
  16. The timing was also right for Wolverine. This was the start of the '80s anti-hero where characters became more darker, grittier, and definitely more violent. Wolverine was a natural fit to a group that would later include Miller DD, Miller Bats, Punisher, Lobo, Sabertooth, etc..
  17. The Eagle appeared on several books. Bsides X-Men, there were Micronauts, John Carter, and Conan to name a few. These were the titles I bought.
  18. I think it started in '86 with DKR, but didn't definitively make a statement until the '89 Batman movie came out. Although I was out of the hobby at the time, I remember distinctly LCS owners saying that Batman was consistently one of their best sellers. Batman Year One came out before the movie and it was clear at that point, Bats was the leading DC character and book.
  19. It was bitter sweet for me when I sold off my entire collection back in the early '80s. On one hand, it was a relief to unload all the books at once (with the exception of my Heavy Metal collection), but on the other hand, the LCS owner I sold it to was a real sh-t and I had to chase after my money. Ironically, I wounded up working in his shop just when I was no longer into comic books. I returned to the hobby back in 2011 and kept a very narrow focus with my collecting goals. Upon achieving most of them, it's probably safe to say I'm out of the hobby again as I haven't bought a comic in almost two years now, albeit I picked up a trade or two just for reading enjoyment. I haven't thought about selling this new collection thus far, but I have taken a few steps to ensure my family knows how to ship them off for auction in the event something happens to me.
  20. I use it with most of my mylar'd books and even some of my magazines. Won't hurt the book and offers a little bit of protection for your investment.
  21. The new Mister Miracle trade is pretty darn good even if you're not a New Gods fan.
  22. This was supposed to have been a very young Conan, possibly still in his late teens so it made sense to draw him lean . This was his first foray into the world outside of Cimmeria. The problem with Buscema’s take is that Conan always looked 40 years old no matter how old the character was supposed to be in the story
  23. Magazine bags for the most part. Oversized bags intended for treasury edition books are good too whenever I can find them.
