  1. I love omnibuses. Especially the oversized absolute editions when available. They may or may not have any value in the future, but I don't really care. My view on this, if you're looking for investment or resale, stick with the floppies. Trades should be something you can enjoy without having to worry about protecting your investment or the print numbering. I may not collect any more comics after this past year, but I think I'll still buy the omnibuses and absolute editions for their sheer reading pleasure.
  2. Beautiful copy. MIne is no where near as nice, but it was a nice cheap purchase to fill the gap.
  3. Is that from ASM #151? If so, i recall a very funny bit with the uneaten tuna fish at the party.
  4. Interesting. For some reason, I always thought Harley Quinn was part of the N52 explosion. I guess that came later.
  5. I came EVER SO CLOSE to pulling the trigger on a copy Vampire Tales #2 CGC 9.4 W. This would have been my 3rd book bought this year. Decided against it at the last minute and upgraded my PC instead.
  6. I actually did a double take to believe it. According to my logs, I've only bought two books and one piece of minor art all year long! I knew my collecting interest was waning, but didn't think it had gone down so much. Not a lot out there is catching my attention long enough for me to pursue I guess. This was another copy added to my MP7 hoard. Three 9.4s, one 9.0, and one raw thus far. Jimmy O Dustin Nguyen sketch.
  7. I think I'm actually done. Except for maybe a few trades, I don't see myself buying any more books for collecting purposes any time soon. Maybe some original art, but even then, it has to be something that really interests me.
  8. Knew it was a matter of time. Lost out on my last few bids for his first appearance. Of course, this film will tank after they cast Tom Cruise for the role.
  9. I'm not surprised. Holiday season. People spending a lot of money else where.
  10. I think if you're going to collect Batman, you really should collect Detective as well since they're essentially 1 and 1a. I think I might have [conservatively speaking], spent close to 20k+/- over the course of 4-5 years to complete my run. Bear in mind, I collected Batman, Brave/Bold, Detective, World's Finest, and select issues of JLA. Essentially, I collected all the Adams Batman covers as well as the interior art, and I went for both slab and raw copies, in some cases, duplicates. If you're only going for interior art, it shouldn't be too bad as there are only 32 books in total, 17 books if you only count the Detective and Batman title. The only books I completed excluded are the recent Odyssey issues from a few years back and any of the modern homages that Adams drew recently. These are not part of the original run. Speaking for myself, I grew up with this run so it was a very fulfilling goal for me to complete it. Even more so than my Smith Conan or Miller DD runs.
  11. I don't think I actually collect any more as I haven't bought anything in a long time, but BA is where I usually put my money. It's the era I grew up in so books of that time have the most emotional connection to me. Especially the earlier BA period with DC up to the 100 pager period.
  12. Nice copies, folks. Despite today's overly PC climate, I'm hoping this genre picks up again. Some great stories here.
  13. Stan's final tweet, a day before he passed. Good to know he still had clarity of mind and was a soldier to the end. Stan Lee’s final social media posts honors Veterans Day
  14. Well, we all sadly knew this day would come. Even when I was out of comics, Stan had a place in my heart and in my thoughts. I think we were fortunate that he lived long enough that at least one more generation of fans got to know him. Am really glad that he lived to see all these wonderful creations he, Jack, Steve, etc. created come to such prominence in pop culture and media. Good journey, Sir. Godspeed and Excelsior!
  15. A very naked Betty Ross walking towards a giant phalanx. How it got by the code, I'll never know.
  16. Great covers. To me, Gil Kane was the Neal Adams of Marvel back in the day. Can't tell you how many times I bought a book because of that the beautiful GK cover just to be let down by the interior art.
  17. I'd give it lower than a 7.0 myself, but that might be me as I'm really picky about tanning with the cover or pages. 8.5 is very optimistic, if not fraudulent.
  18. I loved this book. Remember buying it off the stands back in the day. Kirby fresh off his 4th World stint over at DC and at his far out best.
  19. I had never heard of them nor seen them for sale back in the day. I did come across these two a couple of years ago in a dollar bin. Thought they were pretty cool, especially the early Byrne stuff in Doomsday+1, so I picked them up.
  20. Just saw a movie called Hostiles (the one with Christian Bale). It occurred to while watching it, Ben Foster wouldn't be a bad choice to play Lobo. Based on some of his other movies, he can definitely pour on the intensity and darkness if he needs too.
