  1. What's the going rate on black-market organs? I can spare a lung, a kidney and half a liver. I would go with more but i think my wife needs all the rest to keep living and while there are many things i can do to get on her bad side, killing her and harvesting her organs is pretty close to the top, just above not closing cabinet doors and just under not responding when spoken to
  2. given the man's length, visibility is usually not much of an issue no pun intended
  3. Grader Notes ""Mark Jewelers"" insert. light creasing to cover light spine stress lines to cover
  4. see if you can tell which is my OO copy out of this stack
  5. Dope. looks like he took his Freya design from Deities, which is only a good thing. Dee was always my favorite although the Roslof - I believe - image from that book of Thor smashing the Midgard Serpent was probably my favourite image of any of them. I'm not an OO guy, but if someone were to offer me one of the Willingham D&D sequential art ads that appeared in the early to mid CA, i would not refuse them a place on my office wall
  6. the fact that this book is expensive-ish, given the contents of the book, establishes it as a top SA cover in the marketplace generally and for me specifically
  7. MH2 is not a pedigree, it's a warehouse find that Chuck R. marketed. It's on the label because Chuck paid for that designation. Think of it as the "FROM THE COLLECTION OF" notations you will see on certain books like Dallas Stephens (another Chuck R. offering) or Nic Cage
  8. can't ever free this one; i dont want to lose the sticker
  9. wasn't really making a judgment one way or the other, so i applaud your reading comprehension skills...must be all those comics you've been reading, as i know it's not my ability to convey meaning or anything resembling same. i think the whole concept of superhero movies is at the core rather 'silly,' so it really remains to be seen what direction the writer and director go with here. the Rocket Raccoon example brought earlier is probably a good basis to go off of absent any other clues or etc
  10. Mxyzptlk lets them do basically anything from a storytelling standpoint without having to explain it in "realistic" terms. He's a walking Deus Ex Machina in a pink bowler hat
  11. couple of random books i've bought in the past without really any good reason; why do i own these??? nobody knows!
  12. i'm not an expert on this ped, but looking over the original manifests, it doesnt look like SS was a series in the collection, nor do they seem to go past the end of 1967...
  13. @Qalyar is just killing it with useful info and* you tools are cluttering up things by obsessing about that stupid eighty-character username (no offense, dude) so please for the love of Drzzt go ahead and stop now pls k thx bai. my first thought on seeing the OP was that someone has either just read Ready Player One or saw the movie because as the saying goes, but why
  14. i bought an Aquaman 35 here on the boards, raw, in VF-w back in 2005 for less than the price of a half tank of gas in today's climate. I no longer have that book for some reason; i assume i sold it a long while back as i had the bright idea to, i don't know, get rid of some books? lacking complete records of any possible transaction i wouldnt say i was 'kicking myself' but i would have liked to have kept that one during the pre-movie madness a couple of years back, especially when i saw a slabbed copy in the same grade being offered on the boards for $1,000. which, being away from the scene for a while, caught me by complete surprise only matched by my surprise at my inability to locate it in my boxes. oh well
  15. depends on what that stuff on upper left of the back cover is. if it's a stain, i don't see how this gets higher than a fine, fine-plus from CGC so...maybe? it doesnt seem like a ripoff at that price depending on a resto/interiors check. imho. ymmv. good luck either way
  16. one of history's greatest tragedies is the decision to put Dillin on the JLA and then keep him for one hundred issues
  17. by the musty sheath of man-wolf, the total number of books with great covers and garbage interiors DWARFS the combined total of books with both or great cover/interior combos. take any stack of monthly books in nearly any period and i would be willing to bet the majority of them are great/garbage cover/interior combos. the entire industry and hobby are practically predicated on the quality of the cover and the cover alone, for the love of John Jameson
  18. Can't be sure, but i suspect i was thinking about the David N. Toth books. Hell, who knows these days my brain looks at a sieve with jealousy
  19. This is the kind of collection wherein it would really have been nice for CGC to offer up a custom label. It's a shame the provenance of these OO books is going to get essentially wiped out by dispersal in the market, like the Jon Berk/Mound City/Slobodian/Cleveland etc runs. A custom label wouldn't of course guarantee anything after sales but it's a shame the hobby's two options are Pedigree and bupkiss. Hell, even a sticker would have been cool. I for one will never resub my old slab Pac Coast books with the stickers. It's history-within-history for me. Annnnnyway...
  20. yes but a 10-center, so that should count for something in your cold, black DC heart. it doesn't in mine, but i am giving you the benefit of the doubt seeing as you're such a nice fellow
  21. They're OOHGSADC with white pages. What's the rush?
  22. can you set up a high-def ip-aware camera in your office and point it (forward) over your shoulder when you go through the books? throw a feed onto yootoobe. monetize the whole process, baby
  23. I'm gonna start up a store, call it Oh! Mega Toad Comics just out of spite and jealousy and overall antisocial behaviour
