  2. Nice group of Battles purchased raw from Harley Yee. Fine (Harley VF) F+ (Harley VF-) VF- (Harley VF+) VF/NM (Harley VF/NM)
  3. I thought I would dredge this up from the dead. Last post was in April. I picked up 35 new Atlas books in the first 6 months of this year and thought I would share them here. Most are in the 7.0 to 8.5 range with good structure and page quality. I was most happy about the broad range of genres and the large number of pre-codes. Now liberated CGC 7.5
  4. Six months after mjacobs8 disappeared with my money I suddenly received a PM from him the other day saying he will be sending a refund sometime in July. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Mike
  5. Kudos to Nik and Roy (R1970d) for some nice books. Thx, Mike
  6. In GPA it says that an unrestored Tec 30 in 7.0 sold for $5,000 in May. Does anyone know anything about this sale? It seems like the steal of the decade. Mike
  7. Thanks to Blind Owl and Topofthetotem for some nice comics and Bronzilla for three great Conan pulps. Mike
  8. I have Strange Tales 90-100 with the exception of 94 and was determined to get the 8.5 last night on CLink. I thought I bid aggressively, but was completely blown out of the water. Just staggering prices on some of these book. 82 CGC 8.5 $813 90 CGC 9.0 $861 94 CGC 8.5 $955 I also wanted the 105, but couldn't compete when it went way over GPA for a book that looks miscut. 105 CGC 8.5 $555 (an 8.0 just sold for $250) 107 CGC 9.4 $9,100 113 CGC 9.0 $1,345 (2 GPA sales in the last year with avg = $475) The difference in price between these two is beyond me. 159 CGC 9.6 $1,212 159 CGC 9.4 $330 Mike
  9. Kudos to the following for some great books: Yannis Arexcrooke 143ksk Thx guys! Mike
  10. No doubt, but for the amount of commerce that happens here it seems like a thankfully small percentage. That 4000 dollar theft is troubling though. Any chance of adding whether they are the buyer, or the seller to the updates? He was the seller. I believe that the buyer got his cash back through legal means, but others here probably know the story better than me. Mike
  11. Starting to be a lot of names on this list. Mike
  12. Kudos to qualitycomix, nik, namisgr, Comixcroz and Dale Roberts for some nice books. Mike
  13. So is ST 135 the first mention of SHIELD? Mike
  14. I'm going to guess that it is Sgt. Fury #1, but you would have to check the OSPG to be sure. Mike
  15. About what I paid for my copy too + I thought it was alot at the time. And that's great because I'm not saying that this is the last book I'd pay 5K for, but its close. Hey guys, still making my transition from strictly GA collector to GA & SA collector. Speaking of ST 135, how desirable of a book is this? I noticed the comicconnect price when it ended and had to do a double take. Is it typically a guide book? Over guide book? I ask because I just picked up 2 copies, probably in the 8.0-9.0 range, raw. Thanks, Mike Other than the first Colonel Fury (not even a first appearance of the character) I'm not sure why people want it so much. I guess that it is a natural break in the run with the shift from the Human Torch to SHIELD. Some people collect just the 135 to 168 and the Steranko art makes this a desirable run. For whatever reason, the book has skyrocketed in the last year or so. Mike
  16. 109 CGC 9.4 just sold on CLink for $1,889. Another big sale. There were some deals too. 132 in CGC 9.2 sold for $171 after a 9.4 went for $1,100 in the last auction. I got lucky and picked up a 133 in CGC 9.4 W for $500, 50% of what a similar book sold for in the last auction. I also got a 119 in CGC 9.0. Nine books to go to finish my 101-168. Mike
  17. What did you find in Holland? Mike A dealer who specializes in TPBs bought a collection from a collector back in the late 80's. Almost all SA, both Marvel and DC. Most of the stuff he sold years ago, all the A-series, all the keys etc... gone. But he had a maybe a 1000 books left which he hadn't looked at for years...including an almost full run of Strange Tales from #109 upwards. He didn't want to scan them, took me some convincing to even get him to send me the issue #s + his assigned grade, but in the end he did. Everything was low to midgrade and I took into account that his grading would probably be 20 years off. I figured right as most books are up to a full grade off, but I regraded them and did the sums and still paid less than 40% guide for the run. 11 of the books have a drawing on the cover. Looks like a little boy drew a crown on most of his books to show they were his..."The Crown Pedigree." I asked the dealer about this and he told me he remembered that a lot of the other books had a little crown drawn on the cover as well. The entire run was an OO collection which he just got tired of selling, and which I stumbled on. He also has a near complete run of post-Antman Tales to Astonish which I might pick up as well, once I finish my TOS or Jim run. My wife is Dutch and we visit every 3 years or so. This year it is time for another trip and we will be there in the first two weeks of July. Last time it was 40 degrees part of the time. Fortunately the humidity wasn't too bad and it cooled down a lot at night. For all I know it will be cold and rainy this time. It is always a shoot. Mike
  18. Kudos to Foolkiller and Dale Roberts for a couple of really nice books! Mike
  19. I need a cover and first wrap (or just the last page) for Tec 32. Mike
  20. Kudos to 360degrees as a great buyer. Also kudos to Spiderman-on-tilt and Bigfiver69 on the sellers side. Special thanks to October for being patient with my obsession with page quality. Mike
  21. Kudos to cookie1963 and loboagain. A couple of good buyers. Mike
