  1. I have had lots of great deals - both as a buyer and seller - with mjacobs8, but just had to file a PayPAl dispute because I haven't received two slabs I paid for on December 19. Another buyer from that thread has done the same thing. Michael seems to have dropped off the boards and isn't even reading PMs. Does anyone know if he is ok? I find it very strange that I am having these problems as he has always been great to deal with in the past. Mike
  2. Kudos to the following for some nice comics and trades: skinny_white_boy nearmint pennynike1 Flaming_Telepath Jeffreykli october Thx, Mike
  3. So many books are slabbed now. It's nice to see a nice raw copy like this. Mike
  4. For me 161 stands out. Mike For me it's #136 Ironicly, easily the worst cover has to be #135 136 may be the hardest to find in grade, but I don't like it much. Mike
  5. It took me 10 years, but with the arrival of the copy of ST 136 CGC 9.0 I just purchased in Brent's last auction I am now finished 135-168! They break down as follows: - 21 CGCs (two are cracked) and 13 raw (7 are from Marnin) - CGCs include 1 @ 9.0, 7 @ 9.2, 11 @ 9.4 and 2 @ 9.6 - I grade the raws as 5 @ NM-, 5 @ NM, 3 @ NM+ - Peds include 1 Mass, 3 Mile High II, 1 Big Apple, 3 Winnipeg, 4 Boston, 1 Oakland - I also have a CGC 8.0 copy of Annual 2 which is not pictured below. What I am most proud of is the structure of the books: no cream pages, no miscuts, only 1 slight miswrap on 146, no cover tanning, no back cover problems. Every book is square and clean all around. For those who are interested, the hardest books to find in grade are 136, 146 and 166. The 666 of Strange Tales collecting.
  6. Thanks to bigfiver69, Stronguy and skinny_white_boy for some nice books safely delivered. Mike
  7. I believe that Waku is the first Black main character in a comic series and that it is also the first all Black comic series. Any one have any more insights? Mike

  9. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o Russell (Comic Supply) actually responded to my last e-mail!!!!! Maybe there is hope after all. He is looking into it. Mike
  10. Mike, Russ's deals make no rhyme or reason. I too participated in his Marvel Masterworks sale back in February and bought 13 or 14 of them. I did receive mine on time with no hitch. That's what blows my mind. Why did I get mine and not Mike I should be more thankful that I did see my order filled. Really sorry to hear that Mike. He had some bags and boards on back order for me and said that he would ship everything together. I guess if I had asked to have the books shipped right away I might have received them. Needless to say I haven't received the bags and boards either. Everything seemed to fall apart later on in the year. Mike
  11. I think that we should put ComicSupply on the list. I guess he isn't around anymore, but he has probably scammed more people here than anyone else. He still owes me 11 Marvel Masterworks ($275) from a board sale last February. Mike
  12. Also kudos to the following for some smooth purchases from my last sales thread: joe_collector loboagain klozd24seven r1970d topofthetotem dbostejano 360degrees Zipper68 Mike

  14. I really like the focus of your collection Monkeyman I chased the same books back in the 80's and 90's. Seeing your posts have re-fueled the fire I'm sure it was a lot more affordable for you back then. Mike
