  1. Swami? Is that you? Join dates only 1 day apart?
  2. I completely forgot these went on sale over the weekend. Oh well, saved myself some money at least.
  3. I really hate this over-sexualization of Harley. Like, have we forgotten that she's a psychologist with a PhD? Oftentimes I see her portrayed as this one dimensional lackey. I really wish they would give her a little more depth. Let her show off that she's actually an intelligent person...just a little unhinged.
  4. I've been trying to catalogue my books in excel and it's such a pain trying to determine Legacy "numbering". In most instances, I rely on mycomicshop, but if they don't have it, it's such a struggle to figure out what volume i own, and which number each book is.
  5. I'm sick of being teased by that 20% off Luxury brands coupon.
  6. Some critics were referring to it as the "harem" cover.

  8. Rogue One is one of the best Star Wars movies. You should at least watch that.
  9. That's kinda a shame. Gadot/Cavill are wonderful in their respective roles given good writing. All they needed was to find a Batman/Bruce Wayne and they could have at least given fans a good Trinity movie.
  10. Got an email saying the pre-screen suggests that the book might benefit from a press. So I: A) was suggested to press a book that has no hope of a bump just to squeeze more money out of me. B) was suggested to press a book because it might legitimately benefit from it and to spend more money. Either way, I spent more money. Fingers crossed my blind faith is rewarded and my book doesn't wind up dropping in grade. What an irony that would be.
  11. next thread: "Comics you can ship to me for free that I sell for $$$$"
  12. Armie Hammer looks more like a Hal Jordan to me. I haven't followed this much, but what does this all mean for the universe that DC is trying to create? Are they re-booting? How will it fit in to Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and Henry Cavill's Superman?
  13. No, not even close. If I recall correctly, as you accelerate faster and faster the objects flatten. The force exerted on your chest would collapse your bones and crush your internal organs long before you got close to light speed.
  14. As bad as the prequel films are, TPM gave us Darth Maul, an epic lightsabre fight, and "Duel of the Fates". There are very few individual scenes in the entire franchise that are as good as that one.
  15. It seems like a big reduction then from his previous offering considering the Captain Marvel #1 set only offered 2 covers (trade dress/Binary). This Detective Comics #1000 set, by comparison, will have 3 covers (trade/virgin/retro).
  16. I agree this sounds like the most likely situation. He's priced it at a point where he's willing to part with it. But he doesn't need to sell it and is happy to keep it. I think we've all got similar amounts in our head for some of our most prized pieces/books in our collection. There isn't anything that isn't for sale at the right price.
  17. Yeah, but a shield is an energy field that surrounds something. Light is a form of energy and we pass through that everyday. Passing through something with an oscillating frequency would be a matter of matching that frequency so you could pass through without interrupting the field. (at least that's what I tell myself). I mean, TLJ is a crappy movie and I cringed when they said they were gonna give Rian Johnson his own trilogy/series. But I don't consider the light speed manuever one of the negative moments in that movie.
  18. If I recall correctly, the eBay bucks have to be used up pretty soon. In my experience, eBay doesn't have any coupons close to the expiration of eBay bucks. That said, I feel like any coupon code won't be released until well after your expected payment date.
  19. I agree with you 100%. I have a soft spot for Laura Dern (after seeing her in Jurassic Park), but her turn as whatever-her-Star-Wars-character's-name was bad.
  20. I'll start by saying I don't know squat about OA. I own some sketches and that's it. I wish I had the money for exteriors/interiors, but unfortunately, I don't. In other words, I'm extremely green about the various OA markets and how things impact them. I started playing Magic back in '94 (Revised) and stopped in '97 (Tempest). Considering the game has been around for 25+ years, those 4 years I played are just a blip on the MtG timeline. Despite that, I have always had a place in my heart for the game because I spent a lot of hours at the game shop and playing with friends. I've occasionally wanted to jump back in for nostalgia's sake. But now we've got the release of Magic the Gathering: Arena, a F2P online version of the game (which of course has in game purchases if you wish to advance more quickly). What I've seen has been a lot of old returning players much like myself. I've also heard of people who have enjoyed the online version enough to buy "paper" (the term for the physical cards) for the first time. This leads me to believe that the market and interest in MtG is only going to increase in the coming years. And with that, might be a slight uptick in individuals looking for OA. I say this, because I came to the OA forum specifically to inquire about Magic OA and stumbled upon this thread (how fortuitous). And I have to believe that i'm not the only one that might suddenly be interested. That all being said, the buyer pool doesn't strike me as being full of people falling over themselves for art. None of my friends play (we all stopped 20 years ago). None of my co-workers play. I stopped by my game shop to see Friday Night Magic and it was all middle school kids, maybe some high schoolers, and some older adults that (as you would expect) remind you of Comic Book Guy ("worst. reference. ever."). Now, unless Comic Book Guy there is rolling around in tech money, i'm not sure what the buyer pool for OA looks like. $6.5M though sounds outrageous for Black Lotus, especially considering it's twice the value of the highest comic book ever sold. But let's put it into perspective. $3.2M was the sales price for Action Comics #1...of which there must be at least a thousand copies in existence (in varying grades). By comparison, a NM- copy of an Alpha Black Lotus sold for $57k on eBay. But this is OA...what price would you put on the original exterior art of Action Comics #1? I still think $6.5 is asking too much and I do think that I'd be happy to get $2.5M for it. But I also think there will be growth in the player base moving forward which could potentially drive up the price of existing iconic cards as well as their art. Which brings me back to the original reason why I'm here...where do you find original MtG art for sale? I'm not looking for the old school stuff because it's apparent that those cards are well outside my range. But even the OA for contemporary cards from new expansions. Where can I find these and how much do they go for?
  21. If you just won and don't have the package in hand, I'm not sure you're going to be able to beat tomorrow's deadline.
  22. That would be hyperjumping which effectively creates a localized wormhole connecting two points in the universe. The scene itself references making the jump to lightspeed which is moving at the speed of light. (EDIT: now seeing other videos where they refer to the same thing as lightspeed. It confuses me because isn't Han always trying to fix the hyperdrive on the millennium falcon?)
  23. I don't understand what the issue is here. F=MA. I think small particles will travel through your body (think rays...X, gamma, radio, etc), but if I take a solid mass projectile and accelerate it to the speed of light, it's not going to phase through other matter simply because it's traveling at the speed of light. I would expect a massive explosion powerful enough to sunder a planet to be honest.
  24. Agree the Artgerm retro one looks good, but if his Captain Marvel purchase was any indicator, it'll only be offered in some premium bundle and it won't be cheap.
  25. Outside of the Capullo cover, I'm really not feeling any of them. https://www.comicburst.com/blog/detective-comics-1000-complete-cover-checklist/
