  1. Trust me, he's talked to all the best people about the size of Swamp Thing's hands, and everybody agrees, they're yuge. His hands are the greatest hands, and they're going to do great things. Just watch. You're going to get tired of how many great things those hands do.
  2. Love threads like these...I used to have many fantastic scores but I don't have time to scour eBay nearly as much nowadays. And Andy...as always...you remain The King of eBay bargains...wow!
  3. It does happen a lot...on probably half the books I get back. You can usually remove them by taking a backing board and carefully pushing it corner first into the gap on the sides of the case and maneuvering it around until it smooths out the bubbles.
  4. Milgrom was awful and his obviously rushed covers made me cringe...BUT...Herb Trimpe was the artist on Hulk 181
  5. Close, but Rutgers was 5-5-1 in 1986. But keep looking back a few more decades, you will get it eventually. Who cares? When you play in the SEC plus FSU every year, why would Florida need to schedule MORE tough road games???!!!!
  6. Me too! Obviously finds from garage sales and antique shops are a bit more exciting because it's more of a needle in a haystack kind of discovery, but I still love to see the collection buys from Craigslist, neighbor's girlfriend's boss, etc..it's all good! (thumbs u
  7. Ugh! I so hate it when people put the other key numbers in the title to attract views. I avoid people that do it no matter how cool the book is. It is keyword spamming, and eBay doesn't care anymore. I regularly report listings that do that, it is SO annoying and just wastes everyone's time. I mean I know they don't check auctions for obvious keyword spam, but do you think they don't act on it when brought to their attention? I guess that certainly wouldn't shock me but hope that's not the case
  8. So very cool...wish I had the time to go searching like that for lost treasure! (thumbs u
  9. Interesting discussion on 1st appearances, but what Bronze comics are heating up on eBay???!!!
  10. Still a lot of super high-grade raw books, all for best offer not straight auctions. Many have disclosed restoration but it seems almost too detailed, mentioning slight pro color touch and trimming which is very hard to detect?
  11. Great thread! Mine is June 22, 1965...flexible on format, doesn't necessarily need to have the year as long as it is a 1965 book. Prefer Marvel but anything would be cool...thanks!

  13. Totally legit, have sold to him a few times but never bought. TRIED to buy, but his stuff is almost always fixed price and listed at 20 to 40% or more over GPA and he won't budge on any prices. He seems to be in no hurry to sell, in fact I've seen many of his books sitting in his store for literally years!
  14. It just depends on how long you are willing to wait...I believe it's just because bongo buys SO MUCH STUFF that he falls behind and/or gets confused at what he has and hasn't paid for. He has won 5 or 6 of my auctions, most for items over $100, and ALWAYS pays...albeit usually 2-3 weeks and 2-3 reminders later (think 4 weeks was the longest). He is definitely good for it and I appreciate his business, but if you really NEED the money within a week or two, than you may want to block him.
  15. I've sold several books to him and he typically takes 3-4 weeks to pay, I believe I did file one NPB once to get him to pay. And I just sold a few more slabs to him 2 weeks ago...no response yet, but I'm used to it and I have to say it's a little annoying but I do appreciate his repeat business and the fact that he does always pay...eventually. If you take a look at his bidding history it's amazing he can pay at all...his buying is prolific and has been for many, many months...he must drop a minimum of $10K a month on ebay alone. Must have a TON of disposable income or is flipping the books elsewhere...
  16. Bongo always pays...just very, very S-L-O-W-L-Y No worries...but it would be nice if he could at least communicate and say hey, I'll be paying in 10 days, 2 weeks...whatever.
  17. Please tell me that you are either a female or were 3 years old when you wanted this?
  18. I hated to do this, but after 4 weeks I hadn't heard anything from Bongo2001 and was forced to file a UPI before the 32 day deadline. He bought a ton of stuff from me in the past and took awhile but did pay, but this time I've gotten zero response to multiple emails over the past month. Just one quick email would have sufficed...but I'm uncomfortable going past the cutoff point to file the UPI with zero communication. Hopefully it will all work out...judging by his bid history, he has been on an absolute buying frenzy and maybe just got caught up in some personal stuff that prevented him from being able to keep up with the zillions of purchases. Hope all is well...
  19. Bongo2001 is just fine...sure, he pays slow and is not too great on communication, but he always comes through. As you can see if you look at his bidding history he buys a TON of books on ebay, and likes to do repeat business/multiple purchases with the same sellers, which is a very good thing. I'm guessing he just gets bogged down by the sheer volume of books he buys, but from personal experience I can vouch for him.
