  1. Nobody bought Action Comics #1 in 1938 for 10 cents and thought it would be an "investment". Financial advisors exist for a reason. Turning money into money is pretty much the safest bet. At the drop of a dime, the entire comic collecting market could crash. I could opt-out of my 401k and "invest" in comics, but I'd be missing out on match contributions (aka free money) and historically 'safe'(r) returns in a currently-booming market.
  2. Brutal: Meh: Kinda what I was expecting, which is sad for "Birds of Prey" movie:
  3. There are, like, 500 better methods of "investing". There are no guarantees in life other than death and taxes.
  4. Not a "fake" - just a reprint. They've been doing out-of-era reprints since as far back as the 80's (my experience). Reprints could've been produced much earlier than that, though.
  5. Captain Marvel didn't convey any human emotion for about 95% of the film - which is part of why it's mediocre.
  6. Human characters keeping humans humane and relatable are kinda necessary. How can we relate to Doctor Strange? Sorcerers aren't real. Relationships are real.
  7. The black border around the actual cover art + "NOT FOR RESALE" are dead giveaways.
  8. 600+ retractions in 6 months? Wtf? I honestly can't recall if I have ever retracted a bid in the last decade. Maybe 1? I can't remember if I went through with pulling out or not. It may have been an item I was outbid on in the last hour or something instead.
  9. Because it's "A"-quality restoration and a complete copy of Superman #1?
  10. Only 5/6 of my Infinity comics are 9.8s.
  11. Yeah, I know that. I also know that Captain Marvel kinda sets up the possibility of Skrulls outside of the Milky Way. It just hasn't happened in the MCU yet. Going intergalactic would be something fresh/new for the MCU.
  12. I think so? CGC is having a 20,000th celebration for it - my guess is because it's the most-graded. I'm too lazy to confirm this on CGC's site, though.
  13. I know that "intergalactic" doesn't mean "multiversal". It hasn't been mentioned that the Skrulls come from outside the Milky Way. The entire MCU, as far as we've seen, has been contained within our imaginary galaxy. That is why an "intergalactic" being and/or threat would be a big deal in a Thor movie. Also - Alpha Centauri is a solar system within our galaxy...
  14. S/he really seems to hate love interests. As though they serve no purpose other than to assist in character development... Oh, wait...
  15. 5.5 IMO. @James J Johnson, does this look trimmed to you? I'm trying to learn from you about this, so hopefully these tags ain't botherin' ya.
  16. It looks like a 9.8 to me. Kinda wondering how it's "poking out the bottom" if the staples are good? I mean, are we talking a 0.1 mm length of pages extruding from the cover at the bottom?
  17. Yeah, "walk-in" is kinda like "Super Comic Express". Just means they prioritize it. Probably a combination of how valuable it is to comic history + not wanting liability of possession for too long.
