  1. The Cloak of Levitation is a relic, not made by Uru metal. You can argue that the Cloak has consciousness, but it doesn't have sentience or free will. The fictional biography of Mjolnir, Stormbreaker, and Uru all have neither consciousness nor sentience. One of these things is not like the others.
  2. Consciousness is about equal to sentience. Uru, a metal, is not sentient. The property of magic affinity is not a sentient choice. Imagine a magnet that does not attract ferrous metals, but instead attracts "magic". Uru being conscious/sentient is not a winning argument. Odin put a spell on Mjolnir that required its possessor to be worthy. The Russo Bros put that line in Infinity War from Thor to the Guardians because they wanted to let the audience know that his new weapon still cannot be possessed by puny mortals. I would say that my body collapsing and my mind descending into madness is a stiff punishment for trying to wield a God-King's weapon. Thor simply lacks the training to put the same spell upon Stormbreaker. Odin likely used that spell to prevent potential "lifters" from suffering the above-mentioned fate. Odin was mostly a pretty good guy...
  3. I do read other's valuables when they're not home. Is that relevant?
  4. It's not a matter of debate. Metal is not energy. Mjolnir was not a sentient being and neither is Strombreaker. Don't make me bust that Billy Madison quote out on you.
  5. While Uru is durable, and has affinity for magic (the basis of which the Dwarfs of Nidavellir use it to construct God-King weapons), it is a metal that does not have consciousness. It's not a debatable topic.
  6. I don't think that MCU Strombreaker has the same "worthy" spell attached to it as Mjolnir had. Odin put the spell on Mjolnir, that whoever is worthy, shall possess his power. I think that any Joe Shmoe can try to wield Strombreaker, but as Thor says in Infinity War, their "body would collapse as [their] mind descends into madness". It's a God's weapon, and anything below a God won't really be able to use it.
  7. I have TPBs of all the slabbed books I own. I also only own Modern SS books (for now), so they're there to appreciate for the condition + signatures. I do have "rare" TPBs/Hardcovers/Absolutes/Omnis, and I still have them available to read. Some of them would cost $100+ to replace. So, yes, I read my "valuables".
  8. Civil War was their opportunity, and they completely missed it. As the universe continues to grow - faithful events grow less and less likely - unless they play the long-game for Galactus. Maybe Civil War was a premature adaptation, considering the overall lack of established characters. I think they tried to make something similar just too soon.
  9. I gave the one you had up before a 9.0, so that one's better.
  10. Look at Image-1 vs Image-4. Image-1 shows subtle whitening at the folding crease. Image-4 is definitely the lighting. Image-3 also shows some of the white pokin' through. This is just what happens to these kinda books when they've been opened/read.
  11. They're doing Green Lantern Corps with both Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
  12. "I know where you live" has always been a powerful message as a seller...
  13. Being a tire fire of a movie didn't really help Green Lantern...
  14. Allegedly, he does have a cameo in Far From Home. I was hoping that Endgame would be his final cameo (end the cameos at the same time Phases 1-3 are done). Marvel Studios has been billing Endgame as the "finale" for everything built over the last 11 years. A credit scene will kinda alienate that statement. If this story ends it all, Phases 1-3, then leave it at that. Let Spider-Man start Phase 4 and carry-on the credit scenes then. Let us feel like FFH is a brand new beginning.
  15. It's subtly breaking color on both sides. I can't see it being better than an 8.5.
  16. I don't remember if I read any Thor title comics prior to, say, 2014? I think we all know that general audiences have to buy-in for everyone to keep getting these (mostly) year-long Chris-mas presents. Most writers, directors, and executives deliver products that we can all appreciate. It's only when a studio butts in and compromises some films that comic book fans, and even general audiences, suffer. The "general audience" members that I know were all confused about BvS. When they saw the Ultimate Edition, though, they liked it a lot. It was simply a more coherent and better story - overall. From what I've read, for better or for worse, Watchmen receives a lot of flak for not deviating from source material (from those who have read the graphic novel). Snyder, and definitely more recently the Russo Bros, know how to capture iconic images from comics on the big screen. They also put in a lot of Easter Eggs that only readers may catch. Keeping those moments in these movies is what keeps me glued to my seat. It's more enjoyable for me, and I can always tell my friends and family why "this moment was awesome" (i.e. Snyder's Dark Knight Returns #1 Cover shot in Dawn of Justice). Deviating from comics keeps things interesting, but giving us those little nuggets of nostalgia keeps the child in me alive, and keeps me wanting more and more experiences like that. There has to be a good mix of both. Phase 1 kinda "got me back into comics".
  17. I already incepted you. It's too late. I know you now.
  18. The only thing wrong with Thor is that they dyed his eyebrows.
