  1. I may end up collecting all of the 1st wave New 52 titles at some point. I might even collect every New 52 issue across all waves... That would be something...
  2. Something similar will be happening. As Kevin Feige said, when discussing A4, "there will be everything before, and everything after". I wish they could put an end to all heroic and villainous characters that have been seen through all 3 Phases, but guys like White Wolf, Spider-Man, and Black Panther will still be around for sure. Considering that Infinity heavily inspired both Infinity War and Endgame, my educated guess is that the Terrigen Mist will play a part in "creating" the X-Men. It's truly going to be interesting to see how Marvel Studios intends to keep audiences 'hooked' after Phase 3.
  3. Venom was so good that it only took 2 months until it hit Blu-ray/DVD...
  4. My LCS owner suggested it to me, but I still haven't started Season 4 of Gotham, so I don't have time for a new show yet.
  5. IMO a 3.0, and sadly, I don't think this one looks good. The colors are awful to me. There's gotta be a better low-grade copy out there for you, right?
  6. Unfortunately, prices aren't dropping universally... This one 6-comic set I have been watching actually raised their asking price 17% in the last 2 weeks (not signed by Stan Lee, either). I find that most prices on most things "rebound" after the New Year almost immediately. Not sure if this is the case regarding comic books.
  7. I see that the sarcastic inversion of called-out irony and hypocrisy escaped your clutches..
  8. No offense to anyone who does donate via PayPal, but that sounds very boring. Having all-comic-related prizes would be very cool (like the gift exchange). "Not my style." "And you're all about style..."
  9. I just don't really have anything to donate. I recently "donated" all of my excess books, that I didn't want to keep, to my younger brother. Next year may be different. Sometimes I get caught between, "do I want a run of issues or its omnibus", and those stragglers may be up for giveaway in 2019.
  10. Agreed. The condition of the slab (if old) has also had no effect on my decision unless it's not discounted by $15-20 for future re-slabbing. The condition of the book is all that matters to me.
  11. LMFAO. Ultimatums and deadlines are definitely incentives for sellers to be receptive of your discounted price... Not. I would sell a book (or anything) for less to someone with class and manners. I think these poor manners stem from never working in the customer service field. You really learn to appreciate (and use) manners and respect when dealing with nice people vs b-holes. I am far from a "nice" person but I will be on my best behavior when trying to get something for a discounted price. Whether it's because I value it for less, or just don't have the budget close enough, doesn't matter. Sellers are people, too.
  12. How many times have we read this story..? When I first started, I thought that most comics I buy off-the-shelf would just naturally be a 9.8. Do you know how rare that actually is? They're probably 8.5s-9.2s when you buy 'em. I have no problems with this. When you get an actual 9.8, you begin to realize how much small imperfections can rack up to a lower grade. My coworker recently gifted me some comics he used for drawing-detail purposes. Bought 'em in 1990, bagged and boarded them, and didn't really stress the books out. There's no way any of them are even 8.0s. They're not beat up but they aren't close to mint. Nobody's perfect, and that includes CGC, but they have a good reputation and I rarely, very rarely, disagree with grades they've (metaphorically) stamped on their slabs.
  13. "Hey guys just wondering what you usually set aside in your monthly budget for comics?" About $2k give/take $500. "How much do you spend on back issues vs new comics?" Back issues easily outweigh new comics. Outside of DC titles, Marvel's reboots kinda suck other than ASM and X-Men. Getting into current stories (or art) is pretty difficult. Edit: Captain America is not bad right now. "Do you buy them through ebay? Do you get subscriptions or buy from a shop?" I buy a lot off of eBay. Mainly full runs or TPBs. I have a couple of shops for single issues. All CGC books I get from here or eBay.
