  1. For one of the alleged "nobody cares", you sure seem to be invested as a 3rd-party poster to a conversation that didn't involve you... Actions speak louder than words. Oh, and people other than you do care. Again lending credence to the pretentious nature of your posts. Who? People I know who think they're cool. Oh, also, the people looking to buy them... Very misinforming posts you're sharing here. There's nothing else to be said, really, so we can move on.
  2. I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but... You're telling me that dozens of people will be investing in 1 car, and they're going to transfer ownership every month? Someone's gonna take that money and run at some point, if I am understanding correctly. Unfortunately, that's the way of our world. Generations continually become less and less 'thoughtful' of one another. Instead of checking on your neighbors to make sure that they have enough, they're checking to see if they need to 1-up them. I'm okay with people being selfish, but this is a plague of something much worse than that. Back to the topic - this is an awful idea. It look like people know history of something similar that did not work out.
  3. I did not see a topic for this yet, so sorry if it's been mentioned and I didn't see it. If you're not familiar with Marvel's Slipcase Box Sets, they have released 1 every year since 2014. Here are the previous ones: 2014: Marvel's Famous Firsts 2015: Marvel's Secret Wars 2016: Marvel's Civil War 2017: Star Wars 2018: Marvel's Infinity Gauntlet 2019's will be "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest". Most of these slipcase sets have coincided with MCU/Disney events. This one will collect the best of the Avengers titles in advance of Avengers: Endgame. They collect the entirety of the comic books and issues that crossover into the event. Infinity Gauntlet contains said title, Infinity War, Infinity Crusade, Silver Surfer, etc etc etc. They're some of the best "instant collections" that you can buy IMO.
  4. Really? If you go back and read through this thread, I was directly asked about the games that I have. I didn't "hijack" anything. Everything said after the underlined comment is pretentiously opinionated. Again, passive-aggressive comments (that don't further discussion) interjected into a discussion between the A-and-B users can be left at the door. Thanks.
  5. What kind of deflection is this? What does intelligence have to do with this topic or conversation..? It's about buying a couple of games for dirt-cheap in 2005. It has close-to-nothing to do with smarts other than pulling the trigger on buying them for such a low cost. One guy is conveying history - and the other - "logic". They're not always one and the same. Passive-aggressive posts by the non-A and B posters that don't contribute to this conversation can be left out. Thanks.
  6. At no point in time was this ever implied by me. Making assumptions and/or inferring information that isn't actually provided is no good excuse. That analogy you're providing is 100% off-base.
  7. Why the f^&* are people doing this? I DON'T UNDERSTAND.
  8. Prior to the New 52, Aquaman was still such a joke of a character. I would've been right there with you telling people to lay off the meth. I don't really ever see any Marvel vs DC film stuff around here, which is a great change of pace. Seemingly everywhere else, that conversation is had with every film release. I'm also just in it for good quality moving-pictures. I love the MCU and I loved the Snyder-led Worlds of DC. Justice League kinda put me off (give us the f^&*ing Snyder Cut already!) but Aquaman has given me faith that other directors can make future films 'fit' in with the already-established continuity, tone, and visual styles.
  9. Except that it did. Sorry that you couldn't find such a steal. Your text on a chat board can't change recorded history. What you've typed is incorrect. The evidence is the 2 games that were bought and are still owned. if you think I still have that receipt from a purchase made in high school... The point that I am missing is your argument. You're basing everything on logic and conjecture that are nil in this instance. I'm not disagreeing with any of it, but you're just flat-out incorrect. That is what you are missing.
  10. Except that it isn't. The local K-Mart here bought "used games". They slapped their own UPCs on them, so the manufacturer SKU is completely irrelevant. You can talk your way around this all you'd like - what happened did happen. It's history. At this point there's nothing to discuss. I don't know how or why it happened - but it did. All of your logic and conjecture surrounding the situation doesn't make a lick of difference. The Star Wars DVDs provide evidence for this exact situation. They have been out of production for 10 years. Finding those DVDs sealed, for similar dirt-cheap prices as SotN and FFVII, is a damn similar find. Maybe even more impressive considering the difference in technology between those 13 years.
  11. I don't really care too much about value. I decided awhile ago to go after all 3 Spawn: Origins collections (TPB, HC, and Signed/Limited HC). The LEs will have value, but it's more about completion than value, to me. I just started collecting TPBs, and HCs, last month. It's really nice to have stories in a single reading format than buying 6+ issues. The downside - it seems that not a lot of these collections have the covers. The Spawn TPBs don't, but the HCs do. It's also great for sharing. Instead of loaning my friends a stack of comics, I can give them a couple of books. I still love having runs and reading through them, but for stories that I have (or plan on having) slabbed books, the TPBs and HCs become more and more sensible for me. It's also a lot easier for me to locally find single issues than books, too. There are 5 stores within 5 miles that have comics and books, but I've already found and bought pretty much everything they had in stock that I'd be interested in.
  12. Action Comics #684 CGC 9.8 SS by Roger Stern. Completed my Death of Superman signed-by-writer run.
  13. This week I added: Absolute Batman: The Killing Joke (30th Anniversary Slipcase) Age of Ultron TPB Infinity (2013) TPB Infinity Gauntlet TPB Infinity War TPB Spawn: Origins Collection HC 9 & 10 I'll have to pick up an Infinity Crusade TPB somewhere online soon.
  14. Has anyone factored in the revenue from WB's trailer views on YouTube..? Aquaman is a great movie. Better than that turd in the wind Venom flick.
  15. The fact that I bought sealed black-label copies is what you got wrong. I don't really care about the manufacturing and distribution details. In 2005, they were there, and I bought 'em. I just bought some rare Star Wars DVDs recently. Even with all of the information we could ask for at the tip of our fingers, someone screwed up and racked the (sealed) theatrical releases for dirt-cheap as "Edited Version", at a store that buys things like comics and vinyl. Did someone return these sealed games years after buying them? Did the store buy them as "used games"? Idk. All I know is I took advantage of a great situation.
  16. I don't think that my SS mentioned his username on the package or card. However, despite my extremely vague collecting preferences (Superman and Batman - ), I couldn't be happier! Batman: The Golden Age Vol. 1 and Elseworlds: Superman Vol. 1. I've actually gone on to already order Superman: The Golden Age Vol. 1 and Elseworlds: Batman Vol. 1. I really wanted to find a place to start collecting new things, and these TPBs are great! He also threw in The Art of Neal Adams. I've skimmed through it all and read the comic book section. I plan on beginning to collect CGC-SS books with his artwork and signature, now. Can't thank you enough, truly-secret Santa!
  17. The problem being that people are comparing Aquaman to other movies rather than... Aquaman... Considering the history of the character, how he was the butt of so many jokes for decades, easily the "weakest" member of the JL. This movie is the opposite of Aquaman's reputation forever. It does the New 52 character and series justice (haha!). I really don't see how this can't be enjoyed. It doesn't have 'slow' moments. It has great visuals, great music, and great story points and conflicts. It doesn't feel long, despite being a "long" movie (really just standard length by today's film metrics). I agree with what was said above - some people just don't know how to have fun. Really, the worst part of this movie is Orm's helmet at the end .
  18. Pointing out that Rian Johnson wrote The Last Jedi does nothing positive for his reputation... When you have the opportunity to direct and write the movie, you should be able to nail it. He didn't. He doesn't deserve another chance (and he won't get one).
  19. Fair warning: I have an extreme sense of humor, and the selection of this card shows what a weirdo I am. I'm sorry if I scar you.
  20. I don't think you've ever seen a Michael Bay movie... 3 jump-scare explosions does not merit a comparison of Wan to Bay... Orm and Mera didn't change at all!? What movie did you even watch!? If you expected this movie to avoid concepts of war and battle, then you were seriously mistaken. It's a comic book movie based off of the New 52 and Throne of Atlantis... I have no idea how you can expect a team-up story (um, hello, Justice League) like GotG or Ragnarok within a solo title film... Consider my mind blown.
