  1. Has anyone factored in the revenue from WB's trailer views on YouTube..? Aquaman is a great movie. Better than that turd in the wind Venom flick.
  2. The fact that I bought sealed black-label copies is what you got wrong. I don't really care about the manufacturing and distribution details. In 2005, they were there, and I bought 'em. I just bought some rare Star Wars DVDs recently. Even with all of the information we could ask for at the tip of our fingers, someone screwed up and racked the (sealed) theatrical releases for dirt-cheap as "Edited Version", at a store that buys things like comics and vinyl. Did someone return these sealed games years after buying them? Did the store buy them as "used games"? Idk. All I know is I took advantage of a great situation.
  3. I don't think that my SS mentioned his username on the package or card. However, despite my extremely vague collecting preferences (Superman and Batman - ), I couldn't be happier! Batman: The Golden Age Vol. 1 and Elseworlds: Superman Vol. 1. I've actually gone on to already order Superman: The Golden Age Vol. 1 and Elseworlds: Batman Vol. 1. I really wanted to find a place to start collecting new things, and these TPBs are great! He also threw in The Art of Neal Adams. I've skimmed through it all and read the comic book section. I plan on beginning to collect CGC-SS books with his artwork and signature, now. Can't thank you enough, truly-secret Santa!
  4. The problem being that people are comparing Aquaman to other movies rather than... Aquaman... Considering the history of the character, how he was the butt of so many jokes for decades, easily the "weakest" member of the JL. This movie is the opposite of Aquaman's reputation forever. It does the New 52 character and series justice (haha!). I really don't see how this can't be enjoyed. It doesn't have 'slow' moments. It has great visuals, great music, and great story points and conflicts. It doesn't feel long, despite being a "long" movie (really just standard length by today's film metrics). I agree with what was said above - some people just don't know how to have fun. Really, the worst part of this movie is Orm's helmet at the end .
  5. Pointing out that Rian Johnson wrote The Last Jedi does nothing positive for his reputation... When you have the opportunity to direct and write the movie, you should be able to nail it. He didn't. He doesn't deserve another chance (and he won't get one).
  6. Fair warning: I have an extreme sense of humor, and the selection of this card shows what a weirdo I am. I'm sorry if I scar you.
  7. I don't think you've ever seen a Michael Bay movie... 3 jump-scare explosions does not merit a comparison of Wan to Bay... Orm and Mera didn't change at all!? What movie did you even watch!? If you expected this movie to avoid concepts of war and battle, then you were seriously mistaken. It's a comic book movie based off of the New 52 and Throne of Atlantis... I have no idea how you can expect a team-up story (um, hello, Justice League) like GotG or Ragnarok within a solo title film... Consider my mind blown.
  8. I love Iron Man as much as anyone, but it'll never be as good as The Dark Knight.
  9. JJ, somehow, got him to sign-on with Episode 9. I think that The Force Awakens was the perfect mix of nostalgia and new characters/content. I think that The Last Jedi completely disrespected the history of Star Wars. The purpose of this trilogy was to complete the Skywalker Saga. IMO, they started off on the right foot, but instead of continuing to wane on the old characters Rian Johnson flushed the toilet and filled it with diarrhea instead of clean water.
  10. This isn't a Marvel movie, and it's a good thing. Do we really want superhero fatigue to set in ASAP? It's ~140 mins, which falls in-line with every other comic book movie. I don't follow. While they tried to make a spectacle of some scenes that deserved otherwise, there is a ton of content that is rightfully 'bombastic' and "epic". It's a movie about Kings, war, and Atlantis... Black Manta scenes are the only ones in which I'd tentatively agree. His theme didn't always fit his scene. Otherwise the music was phenomenal. This is a case of mass-CGI on the big screen. Dawn of Justice suffered the same problem at times. On a 50-60" TV, though, I don't think anything will appear muddled. Not every character "developed", but the main pieces all easily changed from beginning-to-end (Arthur, Orm, Kings, Mera, etc). This is a comic book movie...
  11. Of not believing me? Some sort of BS that Iger is "taking blame" for Johnson's garbage and the turnout for Solo. Claims that just because "TLJ made a billion dollars" it was a "success". Before TLJ, you could slap "Star Wars" on anything and people would be interested. The blow-back since Episode VIII shows that, that isn't the case anymore. It led to me blocking the other user because they just kept making bogus claims and inserting conjecture. It was going nowhere. I prefer to have adult conversations and debates. This is old news, but still worth discussing. Not sure if it merits a new topic, but doesn't bother me. As I've said dozens of times - hopefully JJ can bring hope back to Star Wars fandom.
  12. I don't understand... Why..? Also, how am I supposed to grade a 150x200 image..?
