  1. Thanks for that blast from the past. Yeah, you're right. WW1984 is proof of that. I mean, Patty Jenkins is a decent director obviously, but there are also many other factors contributing to bad movies. Bad -script. Bad producer. All of the above.
  2. If Kevin Feige wanted, we'd have had X-Men debut as the first flick of Phase Four instead of some Black Widow flick. But he hasn't. I'd think part of the reason is Feige understands the MCU doesn't exist in a vacuum, that what's going on in other studios, now or recently, matter. The X-Men were running around in Fox films just a couple of years ago, so Feige will wait a few years(or many) to give the world a little distance from them before re-creating these same mutants all over again. Similarly, Kevin Feige isn't going to fight and stomp his feet to put Venom and Carnage in Far From Home or some other MCU flick if they're already in Sony exclusive films. And Sony isn't going to allow it anyway lest it delegitimize Venom 2 or Morbius or whatever. That's part of Kevin Feige's job to think of the big picture story, not just within the MCU, but how it relates to other Marvel characters outside of it. In a way, it's also Amy Pascal's job at Sony.
  3. I kinda doubt ASM361 will reach ASM300 heights as this book is on a completely other level now and is like a Copper Age IH181 now, but it's an amazing book to own and should rise pretty high. Carnage is pretty major now.
  4. I'm not sure if you're aware of the movie rights of the Spider-Man characters which include Venom, but Venom and Carnage can't be in Disney's MCU because Sony has those rights and thus the Venom films are a completely separate franchise and storyline. The only way Venom and Carnage show up in the MCU is if Sony and Disney sign some new mega deal that not only lets Disney use Spider-Man in the MCU, but the Venom characters. At the same time, I'm sure Marvel Studios and Sony do not want to have two separate Venoms going on at the same time, so Marvel Studios will leave Venom and Carnage alone to prevent confusion. Even if Carnage dies in this next Venom movie, it has no bearing if Marvel Studios one day uses the character in the MCU (when Disney gets Spider-Man's movie rights back) because it's a completely separate franchise and story universe. I'm not a big Symbiote fan but Venom has grown on me epecially since I own a high grade copy of ASM300. I can get behind its recent rise to Wholly Grailness.
  5. From the looks of the movie, I'd sell before the reviews drop. Eh, I'd hold if you can afford it because one day Carnage is going to be part of the MCU and if Ultimate Carnage or King in Black gets adapted as a crossover MCU event then folks who sold their ASM 361's will be crying at the skyrocketed prices on eBay years from now.
  6. It's crazy anybody thinks that just because Carol Danvers' sequel title is a name that proclaims she's going to have a slew of characters created in her image just like Iron Man had War Machine and Peter Parker Iron Man Jr., that Marvel Studios, who has said over and over again that they want women to come to the forefront in the MCU, that they're going to push aside the one alive major solo female character to the side because of...what again? Because a bunch of haters don't like Brie Larson's social activism while trying to blame it on her...what's that again...her acting? And she's going to get pushed aside so that, as Kevin Feige just put it, another "white guy" can come in and show her what real leadership is? Carol Danvers isn't getting pushed aside for anyone. Yes, she's going to share her spotlight with her new supporting mates, just like Brie Larson always shares the spotlight with her fellow sisters like when she brought up her stunt doubles on stage at the MTV Movie Awards or constantly interviews women difference makers on her YouTube channel, but Carol Danvers will be the emotional lead in her sequel movie, just like Steve Rogers was the emotional lead in Civil War, a movie filled with every Avenger except Thor.
  7. Look, with the release of Sony's Venom Carnage trailer this morning, I'm reminded how sad it is that these characters aren't in the MCU. But one day, I hope and fully expect them to be Disney properties and be permanent members of the MCU along with Spider-Man. I expect in the far out future, there might even be an Avengers level crossover threat featuring the Symbiotes like Venom and Knull with Spider-Man at its center. But that's never going to happen until Sony hands Spider-Man over to Disney, and nobody knows when that's going to happen. Until then, the most one can expect is for Spider-Man to have a marginal influence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe if Sony and Disney can strike another limited movie deal after No Way Home. Until then, other characters will hold down the base. If the MCU is going cosmic and multiversal, it makes sense for characters like Captain Marvel and Dr Strange to come to the forefront anyway. Already characters like Kamala Khan and Riri Williams are ready to take over the role of young starry-eyed superhero ingenue that Peter Parker kind of was to Tony Stark.
  8. Spider-Man is and always will be the flagship character of Marvel Entertainment, the same way Mickey Mouse is and always will be the flagship character of Disney Entertainment. But Marvel Studios isn't going to put a character(ie Spidey) at the forefront of its movie universe and tie said character to its many crossover stories if they're not sure if they're even going to be able to use the character in its movies in the future. Peter Parker Spider-Man isn't going to be the center of the Marvel Cinematic Universe until they fully own the character's movie rights 100% and that won't happen until years from now when Sony one day decides to pull out of moviemaking completely and sell its studio. But by then, Marvel Studios will probably want to roll with Miles Morales as the new Spider-Man.
  9. Brie Larson carried a 2019 comic book movie that grossed $1,128,000,000 box office worldwide. I think they have full faith in Captain Marvel and expanding her circle of influence so that, just like Captain America and Iron Man before, she has a strong(er) superhero supporting cast in her image. Also, as I've been saying, all MCU films are team-up films. Multiverse of Madness will be a team-up of Dr Strange, Scarlet Witch, Clea, practically all the Marvel Comics wizards. Love and Thunder will be a team-up of Marvel's gods: Thor, Jane Foster Thor, Valykyrie, and apparently Hercules. That's how it works. Kevin Feige has apparently hoodwinked the haters into thinking Captain Marvel/Brie Larson isn't in this movie at all.
  10. I didn't really see it as a spoiler. Russell Crowe told the entire world he's going to be playing Zeus in Love and Thunder, so it's only common sense that Hercules is going to show up. But sure I'll post SPOILER ALERT! next time I post about a leak I read about a character showing up in a movie. It's a dubious leak anyway (they're all dubious) but there's like a dozen news articles now headlining "Hercules in Thor!" so whatever. I personally do think Hercules is going to show up and might be Thor's replacement as the resident god of the next Avengers team. We might be seeing shades of the 90's Avengers with Sersi, White Vision, and Black Knight possibly on the way. There was chat above about leaks from Eternals so that's why I posted. Even CNN Fox and Yahoo! news are reporting on Marvel leaks now.
  11. A Thor Love and Thunder leak is now making the rounds on major news outlets (I guess everybody getting into the leak game), not sure it’s legit, but it confirms the introduction of Hercules as a major character in the movie.
  12. That's probably cause you're more interested in those characters than the Eternals. Not a fan of Sersi from her stint in the 90's as an Avenger? This alleged plot synopsis has lots of holes and is missing obvious character development bits, but it makes sense to me. It's probably legit. The alleged last credit scene seems a little wacky and is the only thing I'm skeptical about. Either way, can't wait. I think this will be an amazing film.
  13. It’s already an ensemble film introducing already fantastic characters. To throw in a Knight on a flying horse is pushing it and would be really really distracting for general audiences who already are trying to wrap their heads around these new Eternals characters. Because it’s a Chloe Zhao film, it’s going to take itself seriously, and again a medieval Knight out of time will take away from that. I think Kit Harrington will play the usual MCU normal person role for the film, until we see he’s more than that in the credits. Obviously I don’t know for sure but that makes the most sense to me. We’ll see.
  14. Looks like the Legion of Trolls have arrived called out by their grandmasters. It’s fun to turn the lights on and watch them all scatter.
  15. “Provocation.” Don’t make me laugh. You guys are the ones trolling when you know how passionate I am about the character and will rush to defend her against undue disrespect. Also this forum isn’t a democracy.
  16. Oh look, the extended version of ESPN's Arena of Heroes intro, where again, Captain Marvel is front and center and is the character connected to Steph Curry, arguably the 2nd biggest star in the NBA behind LeBron James. I mean y'all can try to argue that Carol Danvers is getting demoted all you want, meanwhile I'm stocking up on my Carol Danvers keys.
  17. But there's only one Captain Marvel in this film, Carol Danvers. Kamala is Ms. Marvel and Monica is either Spectrum or Photon. I heard a rumor that she might even take Adam Breshear's name Blue Marvel from the comics. I don't think you can change the title of a thread anyway. Your request is denied.
  18. Of course talking about Captain Marvel 2 also means looking out for Captain Marvel's six, so...
  19. In my long post reply to drotto, if you care to actually read it, I wasn't slamming. I was actually trying to debate from drotto's point of view and theorize why Kevin Feige and co. might have chosen to lessen Captain Marvel's presence in the sequel title, mainly taking the "Captain" title out of it.
  20. I understand the importance of brevity. I also understand that sometimes you have to elaborate. There's a time and place for both. Sometimes the President of the United States needs to keep an address to a few minutes. Sometimes it needs to be 45 minutes. I'm not trying to pitch a movie over here, I'm just debating the possible meanings of Captain Marvel's sequel title change in a fan forum. I'd been going back and forth with drotto for a bit and felt it was time to elaborate. No need to grade me as I see it.
