  1. Yes, I seperate wins and buys between what I want to reconsign and what I want shipped. I figure MCs likes this as they collect two commisions on the same book. Now that MCS accepts Zelle, I'm saving another 3%. It adds up over time.
  2. Among other items I bought from their prime auction were eight slabbed comics that I consigned back to them. These became available for pricing last night. I marked them up between 25-40% over what I paid for them at auction. Overnite, two sold and I have offers on three more. If my counter-offers are accepted, I'll have recovered 95% of what I paid for the eight, and have three slabbed books left with a cost of almost zero. Will I get rich doing this? No, but it is a nice supplimental income.
  3. They seem to be a bit slower than usual right now, particularly on raw books. Generally it is less than two weeks from reciept to listings. The Prime auction might slow down their process.
  4. For years, I'd just pick up any and all older Hot Wheels, Matchbox and Johnny Lightning cars I'd find at garage sales and such. Eventually I had over 5,000 but got it down to about 1,000. I'm pruning it down so I'll end up with just the 1965-71 sweet spot and only to cars I either had or wanted and never got. Examples of the latter were the Matchbox #44 Rolls Royce that was discontinued in 1967/68 and the Silver Boss Hoss mailaway from the Hot Wheels intial run.
  5. Egg Zactly. You know it was already yours, but it feels good anyway.
  6. I've moved three times in about five years and have books scattererd in three locations right now, so while I know some of my books aren't where they are supposed to be, I'm confident they are around somewhere. I've been working on my Hot Wheels for two days and in doing so, I noticed a box that had a few of the white boxes mycomicshop uses to ship CGC books. Yesterday, I slid the box out of the way but this morning I picked it up to move and it was heavier than I thought it should be. The first three boxes were empty, but the fourth had a 6.0 Hulk 180 in it and the seventh box had a 9.6 New Mutants 1. Two more empty boxes and the box on the bottom had a 9.4 Wolverine Mini #1. I've no idea how they ended up in these boxes as none of them were bought from MCS. I've got quite a few of these boxes in different places, I suppose now I have to check each of them. My work is never done........
  7. I sold my first AF 15 for $150 in credit to a shop in Rochester while I was in school. It was badly cut, and almost certainly had been trimmed by someone to get rid of marvel chipping. To make matters worse, the shop's owner got sick and the store was closed the last couple of months I was up there, and I left about half of my credits on the table.
  8. Why not just invest the money you are spending on this and leave that and the raw comics to her.
  9. It's amazing how many times these guys moved. I think I've seen six or seven addresses for Howard, and Robert Bell might have even more.
  10. If a restored comic looks like a 9.0, it gets a restored(Purple) label saying it is an apparent 9.0 with trimming and color touchor whatever has been done to it. .
  11. When will people wake up and realize eventually Disney will own everything, and that includes DC comics. It may take a while but eventually all the DC characters will be in the MCU.
  12. Trust is important in a deal like this. Without it, I don't make the deal. With it, why does it matter who ships first?
  13. In this post you are saying the books are worth 50-75-almost 100% less, but then you say you think they should sell for 75% of blue. Which is it?
  14. I wouldn't submit it because who knows what the book will be worth in a year when you get it back. It's hot right now so I'd sell it as is, unless you know a presser who does great work and has no waiting time.
  15. From an episode of Superman. I don’t think I’ve seen it before
  16. Not a book, but my grali has always been to own a working Gatling Gun. I had a chance to buy a movie prop but passed as I wanted a real one. In the last decade, the prices have risen so crazily I now suspect i will never own a real one.
  17. I'll take all of them off your hands at 75% 0ff the GPA for blue labels. Say the word and we will close the deal.

    RIP!!!

I bought Bat out of Hell unheard, simply because of Meatloafs connection to Rocky Horror, although the Corben cover certainly helped. I'll never forget listening to it the first time. The sheer majesty of the introduction to the title track was incredible. I knew right away this was a keeper, and was my vote for screamer of the week. My two friends that listened with me all loved the title track but weren't so hot on the rest of the album. It was musical theatre, set to rock. Air supply on steriods.
  19. The people in charge of dropping boxes.
  20. In 1991, my job took me to Ft. Campbell ,Kentucky for two weeks. One night I was out getting gas at an AM/PM type place and I noticed they had a help wanted sign. I asked the cashier about it and he told me they were starting out at $3.65 but if I was legally married and had children they'd bump it up to $3.75 as I had a family to provide for. Who would not want to work at a place that values the family so.
  21. Anything that improves a book should be noted, and an improved book should not sell for what an unimproved book in the same condition does. Pressing is an attempt to improve the book and should always be disclosed. Arguing over if it is restoration or not is just white noise intended to distract from the real question - Should a book altered to look like a 9.whatever sell for the same as an unaltered copy. CGC's inability to detect all pressing doesn't excuse them not noting it when they are aware of it.
  22. I don't remember that book coming with a card. Usually it would have been polybagged if the card was loose.
  23. Why would people have spent thousands on Wolverine back in the 1970s? You could pick up Hulk 181 for a song.
