  1. That book is worth somewhere around $150-$175. Maybe $200 at auction if yoy get lucky.
  2. Some pedigree sell for double guide, easily. I'm not sure about the Curators these days but they were held in high regard when I had a few to trade.
  3. Who says the touch up was done after the water damage? The previous owner might have thrown it in a toilet when he learned it was color touched.
  4. First they fed you the Newton Rings and people groused but accepted it. Then they black out the forums for days at a time and instead of rebelling, the villages are just happy their new overlords don't shut it down entirely. What is next?
  5. I want to say 6.0, but it is just shy, imho. 5.5
  6. I can't imagine they would tolerate such blackouts on their investment websites. It's a poor public face. How many potential new clients have logged in to start the process of submitting and run into this? I wonder how many simply moved on to the next grading site?
  7. The new ownership is attempting to wean everyone off the forum. Shutting it down all at once would be problematic.
  8. As someone buying comics at the time, The New Gods had tremendous potential that Kirby teased at but never followed thru on, and as a Marvel zombie, Kirby actually made me drop Captain America after a couple of issues and the Eternals simply sucked. At a time when comics had seemingly matured and we were treated to things like the Thanos saga and Howard the Duck, Kirby was giving us Moon Boy and Cap.
  9. I dont think I'ver ever heard anyone say Stan did 100% 0f it. Even in the Firestone books that bear only his name, he gives credit to the artists. Say what you want about the "Marvel Method" but it produced some great books and both Kirby and Ditko produced their best stuff under it. How is it no other "editor" was able to do that?
  10. I just bought a slabbed copy of Uncanny Tales 38 and while looking up the contents came across a strange bit of information. According to MCS, there is a story called " Plague" by Ed Winiski, that Steve Ditko later redid in Tales To Astonish 44 Can anyone expand on this? I'd love to see the two side by side if anyone has both books raw.
  11. I just started reading Kirby and Woods Sky Masters strips. So far it is intersting but I have not read too many strips to compare it to.
  12. I'm 62 and Ditko left long before I read Spidey on a regular basis. In 1973, Marvel Tales was already well past reprinting the Ditko stories so the people you would want are closer to seventy than fifty. I don't care for Ditkos art so while I was obsessed with completing my Avengers, FF, JLA and Legion runs, I didn't bother with the early Spideys, although AF 15 was the first book I spent a hundred dollars on.
  13. 7.0. Mostly because of the curvature of the spine.
  14. Jack Kirby spent some time in France. The Smurfs started out in France. Coincidence?
  15. It's what all the kool kids do these days. It's the modern equivalent of smoking in the boys room.
  16. That is not a mailer. That is a storage box for a CGC comic. Please do not try mailing just that box. It is not it's intended purpose. That box should be shipped inside a bigger outer box. Amazon boxes work well.
  17. Can a magic eraser erase printed on ink?
  18. My first impression is whiteout but that should be very easy to see in person.
  19. Thanks. I don't do modern comics. I'm not familiar with those books but Im not sure how someones first appearence can by in a book printed in November when they were on a cover over the summer.
