  1. Staton Green Lantern. Aparo and Bingham Batman. Guice Flash. Some great pieces of Copper DC art for great prices by headline artists. Pages from these runs are getting tough to find. Also some really beautiful pinups/commissions ! The Aparo pages were off-white, but I don't recall them being as tan as they are in the scans below. I think the color might be off a bit on the scan. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck tonight! http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193995 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193990 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193994 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193984 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193985 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193989 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193986 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193991 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193987 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193993 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193988 http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions_first.asp&id=1193992
  2. Looks like Art of Comics closed down-- https://web.archive.org/web/20150926000702/http://www.theartofcomics.com:80/u1.htm There have been some great Greg Land pieces for sale, that I just can't get my wife not to veto. You guys have her spooked that his art has a stigma attached and won't hold its value.
  3. Is the love for Kaluta Shadow pages due to Kaluta being a big fantasy/comics name or is that a beloved book from the era? Was the title a strong seller at the time?
  4. My wife is making a run at something coming up. So to pay for it she's having to let go her collection of cherry-picked GGA pinups. So take a gander at my ebay store and help her fund her insane purchase! (And we should all encourage her since it is not another Batman piece she's chasing this time.) http://stores.ebay.com/bcarter27/Comic-Art-/_i.html?_sop=3&_fsub=20495383010&_dmd=1&rt=nc&_ipg=192 This just a small sample of the 60 pieces she has up --
  5. This Kinstler page is pretty- https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/panel-pages/everett-raymond-kinstler-police-line-up-2-inside-front-cover-original-art-avon-1951-/a/7166-93400.s Some nice Byrne Superman and Batman pieces. Barry Smith Weapon X color recreation. Powerful Conan 124 cover. And those Sprang color pieces!
  6. I'm sad to hear this. A Sailor's Story was a personal favorite of mine and really brought home what my grandfathers' experience in the Navy must have been like.
  7. A year! Too much research! As someone wisely said a few podcasts back, this hobby moves fast and has a short memory. What's one of your favorite comics from the last 15 years? Pick a page under $300 from a rep, reputable dealer, or established shop owner on CAF. Then, run it by someone to see if you are overpaying. (You can PM me, if you like.) Get the thing home and ogle it. Shove it in an Itoya and forget about it 15 minutes later. Rinse and repeat!
  8. Here is the complete Fields of Sleep portfolio. (Mine is in storage somewhere.) http://chetvergvecher.livejournal.com/1175696.html Here's the Lady Ice in color- http://www.leonardshoup.com/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=67805 Moon Fire Eater's Daughter... check out the two pics. https://www.amazon.com/moons-fire-eating-daughter-Starblaze-editions/dp/0898650801 Bibliography- http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/ea.cgi?Thomas_Canty
  9. Another good episode! I'd love to hear from some more budget collectors in the future. I also think some female collectors would help break up the sausage fest. I'd love to hear them weigh in on commissions vs pages, GGA dominance on CAF, investment potential, nostalgia vs. aesthetics, etc.
  10. These are ending tonight. So far they are both under what Terry Moore or Kevin Maguire charge at shows. Also big price drops on a few other pieces listed.
  11. Really helpful! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much!
  12. Could someone explain the publication evolution of the Earth Two* concept at DC in the 60s? Flash of Two Worlds was presumably written to accommodate all of those older Flash comics sitting in used book stores.** How then did the JLA/JSA crossover come about? And at what point was the Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman continuous publication problem addressed by creating Earth Two versions of them? When did those three characters start getting their own separate histories? Maybe there has been an article about this that someone could point me to. *Is the Earth Two vs Earth-2 nomenclature difference just another example of eroding copy editing and style. Discuss! **Interestingly, this may be the first time the back issue comic market affected the content of the stories themselves. Thoughts?
  13. A few months ago, I couldn't think of any one piece that fit this thread, but this might be it! http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1406550&GSub=0&GCat=5699&UCat=5699
  14. POW! "His name was Forager!" Yeah, love that. And Mignola's Darkseid is intense.
  15. Ending Sunday-- Formerly Known as the Justice League 3 p7 by Kevin Maguire and Joe Rubinstein | eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Formerly-Known-as-the-Justice-League-3-p7-by-Kevin-Maguire-and-Joe-Rubinstein-/112464667969?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Strangers in Paradise Vol. 3 Issue 65 page 17 by Terry Moore | eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Strangers-in-Paradise-Vol-3-Issue-65-page-17-by-Terry-Moore-/112464650957?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT These are great pages but, ugh, I have to cut off a few toes to chase something new that's coming up.
  16. There were some bargains to be had - Daryl Banks Lobo, Tony Daniel Batman, Ross Andru Batman illos, Alex Saviuk Superman, Grindberg Conan, Grell Batman. The Boys cover and the Carlo Pagulayan Wonder Woman pinup went for more than I expected.
  17. https://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/clt/6199743150.html Glass framed and matted. Measures 40" x 18". This is a limited edition sericel from the Warner Brothers store circa 1994. A fantastic jam piece of all of the main villains from the acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series. And this is probably one of the first limited prints with Harley Quinn on it. Condition notes: The silver matte has a little bit of wear around some of the edges. Not really noticeable from about 2 feet away. Great piece for a kids' room or comic cave! This retailed for $500 new 20 years ago. I am offering it for $260 local pickup in Manhattan or $300 shipped. PayPal Goods. If picking up locally, keep in mind this is a big piece, but I have a giant box for it so you can get it home safely. It is lightweight.

  19. I took an unsuccessful swing at this last month. Did anyone end up with it? Was it legit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/jeff-smith-bone-original-Art-Illustration-/162526871641?hash=item25d75b4059:g:lD4AAOSwX61ZJNIh
  20. I'm no expert, but A/C units dehumidify a room by condensing moisture on the condenser and then draining it off. They just aren't as efficient at dehumidification as a dedicated device.
  21. Very interesting. I am airing a piece out in front of my air conditioner as we speak. If that doesn't work, it's baking soda time.
  22. Probably a topic for another thread, but I would consider most covers with a nice hero shot to be A-level. A+ is a whole 'nother story. But more to the point, this was probably the only eye-raising WW piece I've seen popup around the movie. The rest has been fairly C- and D-level. So did it fill a void?
  23. I think the general consensus to sell during the pre-movie hype is probably the correct approach. But this Barreto WW cover has to be benefiting from the fact that the movie wasn't a critical bomb- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wonder-Woman-320-Cover-Original-Art-A-75-cent-cover-from-1984-Barreto/162549022848 I will say it is one of the few A-level WW pieces I've seen offered before or after the movie release. So did it relieve this mini-drought? Is it an outlier? Or is it fairly priced being a late Bronze - early Copper cover?
