  1. Grell Longbow Hunters, Pratt Batman, McKean Black Orchid... +1! You found some great stuff. Cinder and Ashe!
  2. John Bolton. Whoa. Dave Dorman- Chadwick- And you really can't leave Rude off of any top list-
  3. Loved all of the single-color Michael Golden Detective covers, but this was pinned to my wall back then. Such a strange moment- Hard to pick a favorite Ordway Superman cover, but these two were also favorites back then- My two fav Byrne Superman covers- Chris Wozniak GL. Always loved the stark white- Perez should probably get his own thread- Maguire- Kaluta- Zeck- Aparo-
  4. Came across this in a box today- And always loved this-
  5. Catching up on the latest Paul Pope episode. Gold star for more Nexus love and then bonus points for random digression into the mad genius of Klaus Kinski. Whaaat? !!! EDIT: Whoa. Just Googled Kinski. This is why I sometimes don't want to know the people behind the art.
  6. I think the site redesign is actually very user-friendly. They should standardize the scan resolution from the consignors though. I inquired about Obama as well...
  7. Great little documentary. Thanks for posting.
  8. Yes, Roger's. Yes, Forbidden Planet for new stuff. No, St. Mark's. For nicely-priced TPBs, you could also hit the Strand. Or if you are a BSD, make an appointment at Metropolis Comics... the motherlode! Otherwise, skip all that and just go to the Met Museum... the whole time. You can eat in the cafe, look at art all day, then drink on the roof. Sleep under one of the antique French beds. Then, repeat the next day.
  9. https://fineart.ha.com/itm/illustration-art/hr-giger-swiss-b-1940-biomechanoid-ii-1975-83-acrylic-on-paper-laid-on-board-3925-x-275/a/5145-78227.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 This was the most recent Giger I've seen for sale. It was stunning in person. Even up close, you are hard-pressed to see how on Earth it was crafted.
  10. Is this a thing? . If so, poor Alfred. He suffers silently even in OA collecting.
  11. I was lucky to catch a screening of Art and Craft and there was a Q&A with Landis and the filmmakers after. People were simultaneously appreciative of his skill and unrelenting in their criticism of his dishonesty. It was a really interesting situation to see play out.
  12. Just got a package in from Kewber Baal, an artist who I think is a rising star. The Army of Darkness spread was the first page I saw and said, "Who the (*%%$% is that?!" Really great sense of humor, fun energy, and dynamic compositions. Go buy his stuff over on deviantart and ebay! http://kewber.deviantart.com/gallery/ http://www.ebay.com/sch/kewberbaalcomicart/m.html?item=262497349820&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  13. Those look great up on the wall. The painting with the two flying mechs looks really familiar. Was it for one of the Rifts sourcebooks?
  14. I picked up a new toy there last week myself. I picked up a fantastic one to add to my collection. Think I'll take Kraven out to true it up with the optical I got. You'll have to let him run some rounds through it too. I think Kraven and I have a date with some Tannerite. Hopefully, Kraven gets to California soon where he can show his support for the recent gun regulations.
  15. I am glad somebody snagged that Norem piece. Really cool. And what a bizarre bonus!
  16. This storyline was when Preacher went from crazy, fun, and entertaining to HOLY (%*^$#, I NEED TO READ THE NEXT ONE RIGHT NOW!!!
  17. I am a huge Norm Breyfogle fan. So today was a good day as this arrived from ebay... A few pages- The seller has sold a few copies this year. It has been mentioned a few times online and in Norm's bio-- http://www.adelaidecomicsandbooks.com/breyfogle.html http://www.mtu.edu/news/stories/2014/november/michigan-tech-archivists-preserve-past-for-future.html http://www.comics.org/issue/395376/ I think you can see a bit of a Neal Adams influence here that disappears by the time he gets to Whisper and starts solidifying his own style.
  18. Not a comic book, but.... Prints from Barry Smith's Cygnus portfolio in No Way Out (1987) starring Kevin Costner. (A remake of The Big Clock from 1948.)
