  1. This storyline was when Preacher went from crazy, fun, and entertaining to HOLY (%*^$#, I NEED TO READ THE NEXT ONE RIGHT NOW!!!
  2. I am a huge Norm Breyfogle fan. So today was a good day as this arrived from ebay... A few pages- The seller has sold a few copies this year. It has been mentioned a few times online and in Norm's bio-- http://www.adelaidecomicsandbooks.com/breyfogle.html http://www.mtu.edu/news/stories/2014/november/michigan-tech-archivists-preserve-past-for-future.html http://www.comics.org/issue/395376/ I think you can see a bit of a Neal Adams influence here that disappears by the time he gets to Whisper and starts solidifying his own style.
  3. Not a comic book, but.... Prints from Barry Smith's Cygnus portfolio in No Way Out (1987) starring Kevin Costner. (A remake of The Big Clock from 1948.)
  4. They are currently working on Captain America: White... Malvin That's complete. The collected hardcover is sitting on my floor. Whew! I thought this had happened again-
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jerry-Robinson-pencil-on-paper-comic-art-Joker-/331822971941?hash=item4d4230bc25:g:8fwAAOSwSzdXA3v~ Seems fishy?
  6. Nice subtle choices with the frames there. I love the mat setup on the Capullo especially.
  7. Another friend of mine recently introduced me to an alternative reading of the end of Citizen Kane... That Kane KNEW where Rosebud was the whole time. But that didn't stop him from traveling the world and hoarding statuary. Or from going back to the place in his life that Rosebud represented in his final moments. In this reading, ownership of the object didn't matter.
  8. Beautiful. Keron is the current "fine artist" of comics. I have two of his Flash con prints that I love. That Supes is inspired.
  9. Kav, Fantastic effort! And big thanks to the other boardie who reached out!
  10. "This will be a day long remembered..." It is beyond amazing to acquire a grail after looking for so long. Apparently, it is just as cool to see a friend do the same! I got a case of the "auction sweats" just by association! Congratulations! TXreplicant, that Spawn cover is awesome.
  11. Just wanted to give Fred some kudos on a smooth, easy transaction. Go buy from Fred! Or don't because he still has pages I want. :-)
  12. I was only familiar with her covers or pinups. These layouts and her "acting" are terrific. Heading over to Cadence to browse. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Has anyone spotted any familiar, recycled lots yet? We could all help with the legwork if someone could suggest a good method to research this.
  14. Just emailed to HA. Feel free to send your own. Still no response from Heritage to my email. Has anyone gotten a private response from them?
  15. I'm with you, but I am not sure influencing the buyer/seller fee terms is a possible goal at this point. That is how the auction houses are competitive with one another (along with website ease of use, marketing, and advertising.) As devil's advocate, and without a way to confirm, both HA and Romitaman stated his shills paid their buyer's fees. No mention of a negative seller's fee and I don't think anyone's confirmed that HA offers this (unless I missed a post.) However, as the comic art market is now maturing (both in dollars and cultural significance) and the Old West mentality is pushed out, these are important points moving forward. If someone can post some tips on how to cross-reference current lots with Romitaman's past inventory (via wayback), I am sure we can all pitch in to help.
  16. Can anyone familiar with Romitaman's past inventory determine if he has any consignments in the current auction?
  17. For an alternative, check out my old post on our cheap, modular framing setup...
