what's this Golden Age bump stuff people are talking about ? I'm trying to understand this....u send your comic book to Sarasota to get it certified by CGC i'm guessing there r like 3 guy's in a room and they pass it around and study it and page thru it and share opinions and come to a census and then the book gets certified but during this process they say to each other ....hey this is Golden Age and it's in really good shape which makes it even more rare so they all decide to Bump The Grade ? I'm guessing a Grade Bump would be at least 1.0 ? How many guy's sit at the round table and grade a book ? Do Golden Age books really get a bump if there in great shape and rare ? This has a big affect on me since i just graded all my books do decide what should get certified and what I shouldn't. I had a price point in mind and if my Golden Age books got there i put them in the Get Certified Pile. If a book is a 6.0 vs a 7.0 can make all the difference in the world in determining whether or not u get it slabbed. So please some opinions on this idea posed by a couple of graders talking about Golden Age Bumps. Does this really happen ?

i would like 2 think it doesn't affect the grade at all since they all probably look like that. She is great

a book length crease.....i'm a total newbie so take everything i say with a grain of salt......the spine is remarkable which must really bump da grade....there r a couple of small creases it looks like on da front top left ...the corners look great.....i don't really know much about grading but i try hard....at the cost of looking stupid and everyone laughing at me i just don't c how this grades higher than a 5.0 now i'm sure i'm wrong but i would think it would go down to a 4.5 before it goes up 2 a 5.5 Now i really sound stupid.

2 book length creases and 1 going across as well .....is that a tear on da back bottom ? The spine has a lot of wear...i've gotta think 2.0 but i'm a newbie. I would follow James J. Johnson cause this guy seems to really know his stuff

these books r great..these r some of the greatest covers i've ever seen

i'm a newbie but i'm gonna say 4.0 minor staple tear a deep double crease on front along with some tics and that front right edge.The back also has some issues. I don't think this book is gonna get certified higher than a 4.0.

i don't think its a 7.0 so i'm gonna say 6.5 if not then i think it goes down slightly not up.

What's GPA ? The only one i know is grade point average and mine was never that good.

The book looks good and pretty much like a 7.0 to 7.5 but the back bottom ( which doesn't appear to go thru to the front ) looks pretty bad. Depending what the issue is i think it could drop all the way down to a 4.0 more like a 5.0.

there's a lot going on here..it appears a little on the dirty side and my big concern is that front bottom left corner, there's a lot of tics and some wear around the staples. There's a line going thru the treasure chest on back. I'm new to this so take what i say with a grain of salt. A blunted or abraded corners put a book at 5.0 so i think it would b around there somewhere. I can't really c that corner all that well so maybe its not that bad. If u get it certified let us know how it goes.

the back looks great and that helps but there's some issues on da front ...there's a line coming down to the right of Sea it looks like...there r some tics and a color break to the left of Ocean. Bottom front left corner looks rounded. A 7.0 has to b relatively flat and clean so i'm guessing it's around there somewhere.

that certainly appears to b a minor crease on the back putting the book at 7.0 there's also a line in the red on the front cover. Based on the crease on the back i don't believe the book can achieve a grading higher than 7.0 I'm a newbie so take what i say with a grain of salt....4 your sake i hope i'm wrong...if u get it slabbed let us know how it went.

looks like a crease on da back...is there some rust on da staple ? The back has a lot going on I think this comes in at 4.0 It looks like somebody spilled an ink dish on it. I hope Doc is right 4 your sake but i have a bad feeling about that stain and the other issues. The cover does look really great ...i'm just an alarmist and a newbie at that. Good would put it at a 2.0 but i feel it could end up a 3.0 also but not worse than that. That stain is crazy and i just don't know how CCG will react to that. If u get it slabbed let us know how it goes.

i posted # 48 but that s/b for # 50

they r hard 2 c in the bags but # 48 looks amazing the spine and corners look really good but is that a crease running thru the invisible girls left foot ? It looks pretty long. If its a crease it will hurt its value a lot. The back covers r very important 2 c. So before u buy them u need 2 get a good look at them. If its a crease it could go all the way down to a 7.0 or 6.5 i would think. If its not then maybe an 8.0 on the high side. I mean it does look great. 49 is a little off center but depending on the buyer it can have an effect on desirability. The spine looks good with a couple of minor tics. But the bottom front left corner appears to b slightly rounded. The bottom front edge appears to have some wear. U must c the back also. It looks good but is it better than a 7.0 probably not but could it b lower ....yes # 48 has some obvious tics but appears to be relatively flat and clean putting it at 7.0 the corners look good...r those a couple of marks by Surfers left elbow cause that will affect grade. don't rush into anything and check out the backs and remember everything is negiotiable. Also i'm new but i try hard.

that front top left corner appears to b pretty rounded and it goes through to the back but the color is amazing. There's some spotting or whatever along the front spine. To b a 7.0 it has 2 b relatively flat and clean with outstanding eye appeal. So i would think it drops down to 6.5 The back looks great so that must help it grade. But u sure would like to think it could b a 7.0

this book looks amazing and the back is outstanding, There r some minor issues with the front. I've got to believe this can b an 8.0
