  1. Is that is considered a minor tear ? If it is considering the rest of the books high quality i would think 5.5 If that's more than a minor tear it could bring book down to a 5.0
  2. very few tiny tics .......the corners r amazing..........i have a lot of these old Hulks and they don't retain color 2 well but this 1 sure seems 2...... I can't get over the back...it looks like it came out yesterday and u picked it up. I have 2 believe this is a 9.2 If this was a 9.4 that would b insane.....I think it goes down to a 9.0 before it gets a 9.4
  3. there;s a big crease on cover that goes thru to 1st page and I think another large crease on the back cover with staining on bottom inside 1st page with a bent front right top corner. Looks like some wear on bottom front and a few small tics along the spine but the spine looks pretty good. The back has some staining or is it shadows on the bottom left corner area and a little more higher above it. The other 3 corners look pretty good. A 6.0 would have no significant creasing which does not appear to b the situation here. I would say 5.0 i would think it goes to a 4.5 before a 5.5
  4. I'm a newbie so i would pay more attention to what other people say.....that being said here's my opinion...He did give u a grade ..he said mint..that's him telling u this is a 9.9 First thing is when a seller tells u he wants to sell u a Mint 9.9 comic book I assume he doesn't know what he's talking about or he's just driving up the price on u. Now there r 9.9's out there but i'm assuming they r so rare that the chances go way down low. If the comic book is already not certified. I would think if it was a 9.9 he would get it certified and just charge u a lot more money based on his slabbed 9.9 Now we need 2 c more pictures ....can't really c the 2 bottom front corners and there's no picture of the back ..which is very important 2. Based on what I c it looks like a rather large tic next to where it say's copyright.....that I believe would rule out 9.8 near mint / mint and i would think drop it below 9.6 near mint + which would put it around 9.4 NM near mint. Now the book does look incredible and I hope u got it 4 a good price. The corners and spine look great and cover appears to b spotless. Sure it could b a 9.6 but i need a better look at that tic...if it is indeed one. p.s. like i said pay more attention to what the others say....... When i hear a seller describe a book as mint that sets off Red Flag's for me.
  5. I get the rarity thing and i get the he's 95 thing but what i don't quite get is this industry wide interest in getting comics signed.......i kind of like my comics the way they r. Nice and clean.....i know if u get that proof with a signiture it adds value but there's rampant forgery going on in multiple collecting fields and its a game that's 2 rich and wrought with danger 4 me. When I c comics on Ebay I want and then c that they r signed I just move on. I can't b the only 1 but i'm sure I'm in the minority.
  6. minor tear on back along with slight rust on staples and including other issues on cover.... i believe 4.0 if not I think a 3.5 before 4.5
  7. it's astounding how great the back looks.....it's a little off centered but i don't know if that affects its grade at all ....does it ? It's pretty slight.....but i'm sure it can affect desirability for a serious collectors. I would imagine being that slightly off centered would probably have no effect on grade but then again i would think everything comes into play. p.s. Newbie being a Newbie
  8. tape and amateur repairs could still leave a book certified as a 3.0 but why does it have a Blue Label ? Is that because of the amateur tape repairs or is it something else that was done to the book ? It didn't appear to be a reading copy because the cover is not detached or missing. Pretty easy to grade this at 2.0 based on all the drama going on the cover. The back looks pretty outstanding ...doesn't it ? That must have made the difference.
  9. i guess because of the substantial cover wear is why people r saying 3.0 but i think it's better than that ...i'm saying 3.5 but i believe ( because I don't know any better ) that it goes to 4.0 before it goes to 3.0 How bout that ....normally i grade down but i'm doing a 360 on this comic. Minor staple tears and along with some significant moderate cover wear could easily leave this at a 4.0 With the cover firmly attached help's this books chance of getting a 4.0 even with the problems on the back. Hey Triple Jay ....why can't think book b a 4.0 ?
  10. Don't do that ....what fun would that b ? It's the never ending search for that diamond in da ruff........That's where da action is.
  11. That's Big James J. Johnson ......He's Da Man ......Do your friends call u Jay Jay ?
  12. Are there any tears on this book ? What about that back bottom staple ? R those tears coming out of it ?
  13. u learn so much on this website its insane....u guy's r a Big Deal.................How do u grade comics with a dust shadow ? If it's not listed in the grading guide........
  14. is there a slight spine roll showing on the back ?
  15. what is this shade running down the front right edge on a slight angle ?
