  1. deja vu! same set up that they had in november of last year. I couldn't find anything because everything there was high priced items that I couldn't afford. I also took a piece of art I wanted to trade but all that expensive art made me not want to ask if they were willing to trade thinking I would be shamed for having such a low priced piece. I got to meet all the dealers there except for the Donnelly brothers which I avoided from visiting.
  2. I have collected comics ever since I was about 8 years old in my first trip to the USA back in 1984 haven't stopped since. I don't know how I didn't notice OA before 2009 since I had attended one convention in NY in the '90's and one in 2007. Looking through the internet I think I came by Albert Moy's website and then it clicked for me. I went ahead and purchased a page from Promethea by JH Williams which was what I was reading back then. Haven't stopped since and have been broke ever since too. lol, I wouldn't give it up ever!
  3. Mark Bagley actually did Batman. I had a page from the book in which Two Face was featured. Maybe that is why he drew him for you?
  4. Because they are a treasure! I regret letting go of one page I had in a trade some years ago.
  5. lol, the original commissioner must be kicking himself!
  6. A great looking copy of Batman 227 is up for sale on ebay! Batman 227 CGC 6.5 OFF WHITE to WHITE PAGES!!
  7. My only Tim Sale piece is this sketch he made for me in Baltimore many moons ago!
  8. Okay so I have reduced the price on this page considerably and will be listing for the last time. Forum members can contact me if they would be interested in purchasing the art outside of ebay and we can negotiate a price on it. Piece comes with an overlay depicting Galactus destroyed ship by Magus. Ron Lim's art is becoming more desirable and hence expensive as collectors are trying to get pieces from their childhood. People are also speculating on Kang and Magus coming to the MCU so this page features both plus Dr Doom! Infinity War Issue 3 page 17 Original Art by Ron Lim
  9. I first started buying art as an investment but have slowly found out that it is hard to find customers who wish to pay asking price so I reverted back to comics and have been making some money speculating, more so than from art. However, I think that one might hit the jackpot with art and the gains on initial investment could be 10x or more. I know that I could make good money by selling the pieces that are in my permanent collection however being a collector those are the pieces I am not willing to let go even if I have to eat ketchup sandwiches now and then, lol.
  10. I think investing in OA is a good idea because I'll never regret the art I am purchasing after several years of learning to purchase what I like and not just any page that comes along.
  11. Well, if you would like to do a fast sale I could get one of those portfolios out of your hands! Send me a PM if you are interested in a quick sale.
  12. So Endgame is premiering this week at your local cinema so this wouldbe a good time for those that like Original Comic Art I have this page by Ron Lim up for sale on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/153460230689?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Its got Magus, the Thanos Doppelganger, Dr. Doom and Kang all in one page! What else could you ask for?
  13. how much do you want for the Keown piece or do you like to do trades? I'd like to incorporate a piece from his Hulk run to my collection. If you are inclined to do a trade send me a message.
  14. I've had OA stolen twice from the porch. Thankfully they weren't expensive pieces but it has always hurt. I need a PO box!
  15. I wouldn´t think so but if not using a flat file I would be wary of overstacking art one on top of each other to avoid bends on any of the art and any other problems that might arise from stacking too much weight as paper is extremely heavy. Like Spidey 62 says ease of access would be an advantage of storing vertically.
  16. Nice art! Thanks for the pictures! Do you know how much the Batman McFarlane piece and the Preacher one was at Albert Moy's booth?
  17. what? how many years of collecting OA Brian? Amazing! And you aren't showing the flat files! wow
  18. I have never used an auction house but for higher end pieces I would. If I ever sell them while being alive and that's a big IF. I do sell on my CAF and by posting in several of the facebook groups for OA.
  19. Breaking by age seems appropriate. I would add that the Best of needs a category were you only vote for art that has been published in the last year. The results are not very indicative of preference if I am comparing a page published last year with a Kirby page. Uploading to the Best of should be more simple. This was my first year participating and I hard a hard time completing all the steps necessary for me my pieces to participate.
  20. I have a big Goon splash page but would only be willing to trade for art. PM me so we can discuss if interested.
  21. Would you like to purchase some Death of Wolverine art? Send me a PM if you would. I also have a Captain America page I would also be willing to part with.
  22. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend. Especially as it is taking place so close to LACC.
