  1. I'm likely to send Kingdom Come books for the in-house Mark Waid signing and debating if I should get them pressed. It's kinda been my practice to get books CCS pressed during a signing even if they were good to begin with to be sure in case they were mishandled. But these books' covers have a thicker card stock so not sure if it will benefit a press. Also, they are thicker bound books so I imagine pressing might damage and round up the spine. Can any of you expert pressers chime in? Thanks.

Quick question for everyone as I am new to the grading side of books.

I have a spawn 1 I got signed back in the day at my local con, can I submit this book for the upcoming Todd signing and request him sign over his previous signature done on the book to get a yellow label? If not what would be some suggestions for this beautiful book I own.

Just get a new unsigned Spawn 1 and have that signed. I don't know what makes your current book "beautiful" but it'd be better to own 2 with one of them a true yellow label.

    Hello @bobotski,

Unfortunately, we can not combine the shipping of these collectibles. This status shows that the books have been received into the system. For the signing event submission, this will not begin through the process until after the signing event. Until then, this book will stay at the Scheduled for Grading status.

These signings can take place weeks or months after the cut off date posted on the Events page. We are sorry we could not accommodate your request. Let us know if you have any other questions.

My signing submission has already passed the pressing stage, which I assume the signing has already taken place. Does pressing happen before or after signing?

  4. Hi, I had 2 submissions (reholder and signing event) that coincidentally went together today for SFG. Can they be combined for return shipping to save on the cost? Order #s are CGC6124344227 and CGC5259432299.

    Thank you.

What do you guys think? Would it be weird to have Todd sign Image Zero with the hopes of getting all 7 original founders to sign it through CGC? A book with all 7 verified sigs seems like it would be valuable. It could end up being the only one. Though it might take a long time to actually become really valuable.

Good luck on that, I am on a similar mission. I instead had each of the 1st 7 Image books signed, Valentino's is the most elusive and the only yellow slab I'm missing as he rarely goes to cons or signings now. Portacio, Liefeld and Larsen are also getting tougher.

  7. My opinion, everyone else will have theirs :)

    - Not a fan of Hollywood celebrity sigs on comic books. Fine on magazines but not comics. There are subjective exceptions and that comes based on my personal preference like Ferrigno or Campbell.

    - Agree on different colored pen ink on multi sigs, although you may get lucky sometimes depending on the cover art and sig placement.

    - Fading ink. I hate to be the 200th book signed from a single marker.

    - Smudged sigs - I have a Herb Trimpe sig that was likely stacked on over while it was wet

    - Artists that never had anything to do with the book. A subjective topic since you can make exceptions like Romita Sr or Stan Lee, so my opinion on it may change as artists eventually become "legends".

    - Ugly remarques, lots of examples with Bagley. Some of them are just improperly placed doodles. I would prefer a proper sketch on a blank cover or a simple sig.

    - Sigs on the inside pages, what's the point? Back cover may be acceptable but would rather have them in front.
