  1. Superman #32 is on my want list as well, always loved that cover, the reason I picked up the Supes #14 and #24 now, was because, true they are easier to find right now, but what about 10-15 years down the line, I'm sure Actions were easier to find 10-15 years ago...I remember around 1991 (death of Supes era) my local comic shop had a complete run of Actions from 17-55 I think, maybe not the 23, but he had alot of the war covers, of course back then I didn't have two dimes to rub together...but now that I can purchase a few, they aren't hardly around. the trick with the Supermans is to get higher grade copies since there are more of them around, but they mostly are low-low grade, last weekend at the Mid-Ohio Con, Graham Crackers had a Supes #14 with the top half of the cover torn off, it only had Supes from the waist down, and they wanted $300 for it ?!?!?!? my #14 is a 6.5 off-white, and my #24 is a 7.0 white. and I'd say the Action #44 that Heritage has will go between $1,200-$1,400. just my guess.
  2. Heritage does have some really nice GA Actions coming up, I already have a #44, but that #19 looks real good... I currently have #40, 44, 46, 59, 63, 66 and on the Supermans I have #14 and #24
  3. yes, how true, but those war covers are very cool.. just about every Action collector is going after the war covers...my guess is It's going to be a slow and expensive process seems like the war covers don't come up for sale too often.
  4. you killing me Brian ! man you got some nice books...another great Action war cover...hope to have a #35 someday...
  5. WOW Brian, great book !! I didn't know you had that issue...and your right looks better than 5.0 to me as well, sweet Action !!
  6. dude, what are you talking about, I think you've got a great selection of GA books, and you've got a photo for everyone of them !!,... not too many online dealers have a picture of every book. thanks for posting your site.
  7. No problem. HA !! now that's funny stuff,, "Ow, F--ckin' Fascist"... (Big Lebowski) ]
  8. um.. quality comix....they sell a few Golden Age, mostly Silver though www.qualitycomix.com (hate to keep making you update this list)
  9. yeah, those painted covers sure look great,..I will definitely get me one someday, that's awesome that you paid 6.5 grade and it graded out at 8.0, can't beat that no matter what book it is..
  10. Timulty, I was at the Mid-Ohio con this past weekend, and I saw a pretty healthy supply of Captain Marvel Adventures and Capt. Marv. Jr. you would have loved it.. I'm still working on my Actions and Supermans right now, but two CMA's I'd love to get would be #4 and #17...do you have those issues ?
  11. you could add fantasy comics.com to the list, it's where I got my Supes #14 http://www.fantasy-comics.com/ and also http://www.pgcmint.com/
  12. man those books are really sweet !! 12 and 14 are my favorite non-Superman covers in the Action run. Zatara rocks !
  13. very true Durden, I always want to see the book, I don't take CGC's grading on blind faith..which I think most of us don't, there are some great looking 3.0-4.5's out there..
  14. here's a better scan of the Action #44 that I just got back from CGC.
  15. that's a very nice looking 3.0 Durden08, great eye appeal, and of course one of the best war covers in the Action Comics run..I love it, I need to get me one.. glad you posted it, great to finally see it..I don't mind the big scan, the bigger the better..
  16. "I just figure, I will get to collecting Superman when I get to that $100K per annum job." you and me both brother, I was so hoping to win that Powerball lottery yesterday...
  17. I was being silly in my response about collecting both, I know GA titles costs thousands of dollars sometimes, I think your solution is a good one, keeping with the collecting of Captain Marvel and adding certain issues which you like from Superman, I have the reverse dilema, I am mainly a Superman collector, but I've seen a few classic Captain Marvel covers/issues that I would LOVE to own someday.. like....Captain Marvel Adventures #17 Master Comics #30 and what's the one where CM on the cover in a billowing cloud of smoke with the lighting bolts striking around him, and it just says "Shazam"... yeah those are great CM covers...
  18. yep, the story is a reprint of Superman #233, all Kryptonite on earth turns to lead...
  19. got this off eBay for alot less than I expected, classic Neal Adams Superman cover, 9.6 white pages, what's not to like ?
  20. awesome book Beyonder ! classic Neal Adams cover, and signed by the man himself,
  21. not really "new" to my collection since I got this at Wizard World Chicago 3 months back, but I haven't scanned it until now, the case has a hairline crack at the top, which has happened since I've had it, CGC needs tougher cases,. 7.0 w/white pages
