  3. well the dictionary I have here says: "Two or more figures that make up a unit or design", so yeah, two or more books would be a group. good luck on your Detective Comics run,, some really great covers in that title. hey Durden, I didn't know More Fun 32 had an Action 1 ad, very cool, I may have to get one as well just for that, (closest I'll get to and Action 1).

OK, alright, alright !! now this is what I was talking about, incredible books everyone, it's like being at a convention only my wallet isn't screaming, actually, it's better than a convention, cuz the last few cons I've been to, you don't see books of this caliber all together. love the Good Girl and the ducks, four color, Crime Does not Pay, Actions/Superman's (Nearmint and Durden08), and yes Batman-fan, that's the pic I was referring to, a great group shot of Batman 1-11. hey Durden08, I didn't know you had an 8.0 Archie and a More Fun, nice. NearMint, that does look like a friendly home for my Action #44 if I ever sell it. I know it would be loved
  5. yeah, my collection is small compared to yours and others on these boards, but I'm moving along at a reasonable speed, except for the Action #44, all of my GA books I've purchased just since August of last year,..sort of a late bloomer,..I can't remember who exactly, Batfan or one of the Batman collectors has a group shot of his Batmans 1-11 with himself in the pic, that's an awesome pic.. hope he sees this thread and posts it here..

  7. hello all, I was inspired by this recent thread from a new forum member, Click here where several group shots of collections are posted, I really enjoy seeing a persons collection all in one shot like this, to me it's like seeing a booth setup at a convention. so I thought I'd post my "group shot" of my Golden Age stuff that I have so far, it's small, but growing...some are CGC some are PGX and some are ungraded, I'd love to see others group shots of their GA books. and if you don't have one, go line 'em up and take a pic.

I've just recently gotten back into collecting GA, I've bought and sold two or three books as far back as 10 years ago or so. but this past year is where I've really been active, I've always watched the market and always read the reports in Overstreet year after year.. seems like you've been a serious collector for a long time...always interesting to hear about how much the market has changed.

  11. I'm just gonna leave it. I was very careful when reading it... and if I got the spine sealed it wouldn't really "look" any better, so I'm just gonna leave it as is.. if the next owner wants to seal the spine then he (or she) will have the choice...
  12. hey, thanks Brian, yeah I always kinda figured my first Shuster would be #19, as I love that cover... but this #23 is also one of my fav Shuster covers.. almost forgot, I read the Luthor story last night, wanted to post a few Luthor panels from the book, pretty cool..   13. this is a book that I saw down at MegaCon two weeks ago, Richard of Bedrock City had it at his booth. I looked at it while at MegaCon, but didn't quite have enough money with me... so when I got back home, I called Bedrock City two days later and purchased the book over the phone.. the book has very nice "eye appeal" for the grade, it has a major 6 1/2" spine split from the bottom to about one inch away from the top staple, and a 1 3/4 split at the top.. other than the spine splits it's a great book, nice off-white pages (compared to one of my CGC slabbed books pages), No tape, No foxing No rust on the staples (staples are actually fairly shiney), No missing pieces or pages. and No restoration (obviously), the cover is firmly attached to the top staple. I figured this may be the only chance I'd have to own the first apperance of Lex Luthor, First Lex Luthor (debatable, I know ) First mention of the Daily Planet and First DC logo in this title also this is my first (and only) Joe Shuster cover, which I've always wanted one, and this is also the oldest book in my collection now. how could I pass up all of that, I'm very happy with it..

I looked at the Actions that we all have, and have come up with the list of books none of us have, (not including Jon Berk, he has everything),, I started the list at Action # 11, cuz, really, who we kidding... the issues in bold type are ones that no one who has posted in this thread has. #'s 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 (not surprising) 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 53 54 55 56 57 58 59 60 61 62 63 64 65 66 that means we have 27 issues between 11-66 that are "missing in Action" get it if I made a mistake please correct me.
