  1. I got exactly what I wanted. An entire day with my butt planted on the couch watching golf
  2. It'll be interesting to see if this will prove to be an outlier or not
  3. Micheal Golden does not Michael Golden does
  4. Holeeee c r a p! https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/123181808958?nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l10137
  5. Good example. I still have a copy of Comics Value Monthly somewhere that shows some of the inflated prices on those really hot b&w indy books.
  6. I want to be looking at the book not having my eyes got to the Newton rings. It can cost a lot of money to get a book slabbed so why can't they figure out what's wrong and fix it? You're making the assumption that they want to fix it. What's their incentive to do something about this? And don't say because it's the right thing to do because they obviously aren't taking that approach. The submissions keep rolling in. The $$$ keep rolling in. I've been on this board for almost 13 years and in all that time, people have complained about CGC for any number of reasons but people still keep suckling at the teat and submitting books, despite all the complaints.
  7. There could also be an internal issue that (obviously) we can't see. The pic makes the back look a little shabby, even dirty(?) along the bottom edge. Does it look that way in hand?
  8. In the past both but anything I'd buy now would likely for investment only, or to flip. Not that I do much of that but as I get older, I want to divest myself of most of what I have, not accumulate more.
  9. Yes. Just try to stop him from posting. Just try There was also that GIJOEISAWESOME kid.
  10. I'm torn. On the one hand, what you say makes some sense. We're all adults. However, as a person who does engage in profanity from time to time, I don't need to engage in profanity in order to converse with people so ultimately, I'm fine with the language filter. I find it very crude when some people cannot converse without throwing out profanity every other word or comedians, for instance, who think you need profanity in order to be funny. What I do think is silly is the censoring of the word, D i c k, because it messes up text when you're talking about comic creators named D i c k.
  11. Does Rooney also "eat it" in this film?
  12. It wasn't this way in the past, or at least it wasn't nearly as bad. Sometimes, I wish people would keep their ultimately useless comments out of a sales thread. It's just a bunch of grab a s s that clutters up the thread. However, some sellers encourage such banter and If that's what they want in their own sales thread, then so be it. On the subject or selling comics on venues other than this one, it's become a sad fact that you can often realize more money selling your comics away from here.
  13. I loved those Frank Cirocco covers. He was really good and I wish he did more comic work. I don't remember the interior art being very good
  14. Does anyone know how CGC treats the staple poke through on these squarebounds? Defect that lowers the grade or production related?
  15. Yeah, Harwich Port to Falmouth (or in the opposite direction) on Rt 28 in summer would be enough to cause anyone to go homicidal
  16. I get random 502 errors when clicking on some old links. I'll try to provide some examples Anyone else seeing the same thing?
  17. There's one I didn't know about but then I try to avoid Hyannis in the summertime.
  18. Not that I know of. In the 30+ years I've been going to Cape Cod, I've never come across a really good comic shop with a deep back issue stock. However, I just found this shop in a google search. Never been there though Greg's Used Books, Orleans Ma - https://www.facebook.com/GregoryRobertElfers/?rf=1728019924144899 There's also Blast From The Past in Falmouth but the one time I tried to go there, they weren't open yet and I couldn't hang around and wait http://www.blastfromthepastma.com/
  19. Damn! I was pretty big into Magic in the mid 90s but I never really thought about trying to buy any of the art. It's best not to think about it, just like all the comic book art I could have bought back in the 80s.
  20. There's a definite amount of luck needed in spec too. Sure, you can make educated guesses about what will become hot but you can miss just as easily as hit.
