I finally won an auction for a DD issue that always eluded me. However, I am kind of shocked how much CC takes for shipping. I might not have bothered had I known. I can't remember it being that expensive the last time I won from them.

Well if you live in Canada (like I do), CLink charges $70 for 1 CGC book... which is insane. (and they only use Fedex so I can't imagine what the custom brokerage fees are...)

First book I won recently (after taking a 10 year break on comic book collecting) I asked them to put it back on sale... No point in paying such shipping charge on a $100 book...

    Nice DD btw!

  2. I have 7 Spirou 1071 & 6 Spirou 1072 submitted at CGC (this will help adding some critical mass to the census:)

I expect a range lower grade around 6.0 range and highest hopefully in the 9.0 range. But most in the 7.5-8.5 range. Will see! :wishluck:

The copy I just listed on eBay would have been sent to JoeyPost as well, but he wrote me that the other Spirou had already been submitted to CGC... hence the sale :)

  3. Hi everyone,

Just put for auction on eBay a very nice raw copy of Spirou 1071.

This magazine contains the first appearance of the Smurfs in any media (October 23, 1958)

The Smurfs were comic book characters in Europe for more than 20 years before the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series started in 1981 in the USA!!!

It's becoming more and more difficult to find high grade copies of those magazines. Don't miss this opportunity!

  4. Joe bought some X-Men and the deal went smoothly. (thumbsu
But my biggest kudos to him is when he let me know that he received another comic book that didn’t belong to him (I had put the wrong address on the enveloppe! :tonofbricks:) He was kind enough to ship the FF 112 to the other boardie who had bought it. Great to see such honesty and helpfullness! (worship)

Love them!Do you have any of the giants comic-o-ramas?I was surprised to find some more recent-well 90s Archie books re-bound a few years ago.

And I still have yet to find an EH treasury.I ask as I see you're in Montreal, where they are likely more common.I'm very close to Hull/Gatineau here,so have been fortunate over the years.Still only up to about a long, maybe a half dozen jumboramas.

Have you read this wonderful labour of love?It may be a bit hard to find now

No Comicorama (Marc the Comic Hunter is a  good source in Montreal).

Haven't got a copy of the Heritage Guide but I bought many European DC variant from Rosaire Fontaine (great guy!). That's how I was able to complete my Interpresse Batman and Superman runs.
