  1. Here my roommate Ace and I are waiting for head hostess Heide to open up the doors to Grandma's Diner for breakfast: And here we are back on our front walk relaxing after breakfast:
  2. Grodd only made two cover appearances as a gorilla in the Silver Age. That's shamefully low for such a dastardly menace.
  3. Here are scans of some of my Phantom Stranger comics:
  4. Nice! But are all your comics plagued with that plastic infestation Greggy? My favourite cover from the short Dark Mansion of Forbidden Love run is this one by Neal Adams:
  5. I`m more than intrigued by your early Flashes. For how many years have you been collecting them and other Silver Age DC comics? Where did you find them? Comic cons, mail order?
  6. About time! Absolutely! That's a really nice one. Very close, but number three at the moment according to this poll: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5693535&fpart=1
  7. I've been a big fan of Harveys since I first became aware of comics. I was more likely to plop down my dime for a Harvey title than a Dell title as a kid. Here are some Casper items from my collection. First a Milton Bradley board game: Here's a slide puzzle: I also have a fabulous Casper lunchbox and thermos: And here are some scans from my Fleer Casper card set:
  8. They end up being rotated as I add comics. I have more really good comics to file but I've run out of Halfbacks/Thin X-Tenders. A different day, a different look: These top two shelves of the still half empty magazine cabinet in my tom cave are where I display certain comics on a rotating basis:
  9. No. I'm six away from completing the run up to #100 to my satisfaction. I need Brave & the Bold 28 and #5. I need to upgrade #3, 6, 47 and 77. Scans of all the issues up to #35 are here in this thread. I have one or two copies of the higher numbers as well but I haven't yet taken them out of the long boxes and gone over each with a critical eye. I break any I find that way out of their imprisonment before filing them away. Here's a quick look at my files;
  10. That's because he's never been as good again as he was in those Brave & the Bold tryout issues.
  11. Here are scans of five more of my Justice League comics that I've not yet posted in this thread: Mohawk Valley copy
  12. A couple more scans featuring a character not as widely collected as many others: The above two comics feature artwork by the inimitable Ramona Fradon, a very nice lady whom I met at a convention in either Detroit or Toronto about five years back.
  13. Here are a few more pictures I just took of my Standard Plastics Products monster wallets:
  14. That was another great ad done by Ira Schnapp. He worked for DC from 1938-68 and almost singlehandedly defined the DC house style. All the iconic cover logos, including those for Action and Detective Comics, were his designs. He also did all the cover lettering and all those great house ads for upcoming attractions that had me eagerly awaiting those comics to hit the newstands were his work. Ira was truly Mr. DC. (thumbs u
  15. Here are some more photos of the three Aurora monsters in hot rod kits I have in my collection: Here are more photos of some of my Revell "Big Daddy" Roth kits: Here are more pictures of some of the Hawk Weird-Oh kits: Here are photos of a couple of my Monogram Fred Flypogger kits:
  16. Bronze Age romance covers were far better than Silver Age ones!
  17. Screw looking at some arcane on-line registry! Burnaby is just a long walk from downtown Vancouver. So just march up to Greggy's door and tell him you want to see his stuff, and no holding out on you either!
  18. DIdn't you post this in another thread No, twasn't me. I just checked.
  19. Awesome coincidence! What was the title of the book anyway? I like the neighbourhood! (thumbs u
  20. Who do you think it was that had tied the comics up in bundles and put them out on the curb to be picked up as trash? Do you think it could have been that little boy himself thirty years later? This is a guess: maybe something in the neighborhood of 1000? The collection is still intact so I could sit down and start counting... How far into the forties does this Campbell Bros. collection extend? I take it that you were purchasing Dell funny animal comics in the late fifties. What therefore is the cutoff point overall for your entire collection?
