  4. Here are the scans of three Superman titles which I just received from AtlasFan: The books all look better in hand than they do in the scans. (thumbs u

  6. Here are scans of a couple more nice Superman books from my collection:
  7. Don't blame me! I'm only the messenger. I didn't vote for Krypto. I may have to create another ID though to cast my vote against him.
  8. Fans of Gunner & Sarge's Pooch might want to check out this thread where Pooch seems to be nearly bereft of friends: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4605025&fpart=1
  9. So do I! The gritty Atlas war books are such a welcome change from DC's comparatively "polite" war books from the same time period. (thumbs u
  10. War?! You say you want war? Well then forget the sissy stuff. I'll show you a couple of scans of real war from my collection:
  11. When and where did this ad appear? Who was the dealer?
  12. Since Bob made a comparison, it looks like it. Are you still planning to get the resto removed and have it graded? But trimming can't be removed.
  13. Cool! The top part of the scan looked fabulous and then the book got weaker toward the bottom.
  14. DC should have gotten rid of Jack Schiff much earlier. Under his stewardship, sales of the Batman books declined to the point where the titles were almost cancelled. He'd basically run the titles into the ground by 1964 and Julius Schwartz was given the job of turning them around. Moreover enough years have now passed for the verdict of history to have been delivered. It's the Julius Schwartz books from the DC stable that are the most highly valued by collectors while the Jack Schiff titles are collected by only the occasional eccentric (such as myself). Schiff's name is now all but forgotten.
  15. I love the comic stand on the left! Do you know from what year it dates and in what retail establishment it once did duty?
  16. Never comes up with me. If it ever did I'd just reply that I reached the age where I came to terms with what I liked several decades ago and really don't give a damn about anyone else's thoughts on the matter. In fact I recall that one of my old buddies observed some 25 years ago that to me other people are just furniture.
  17. Cool! I love pinball machines. And you've got the classic Gottlieb one! (thumbs u
  18. Fans of the heroic Ace the Bat-Hound might want to look in on the following thread where Ace is sorely besieged and is in dire need of the assistance of his loyal fans! http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4590286&fpart=1
  19. There were a very few. Wonder Woman fought Egg Fu, a Communist Chinese megalomaniac, in issues 157, 158 and 166: Here are pics from CoverBrowser;
