Cool! The top part of the scan looked fabulous and then the book got weaker toward the bottom.

DC should have gotten rid of Jack Schiff much earlier. Under his stewardship, sales of the Batman books declined to the point where the titles were almost cancelled. He'd basically run the titles into the ground by 1964 and Julius Schwartz was given the job of turning them around. Moreover enough years have now passed for the verdict of history to have been delivered. It's the Julius Schwartz books from the DC stable that are the most highly valued by collectors while the Jack Schiff titles are collected by only the occasional eccentric (such as myself). Schiff's name is now all but forgotten.

I love the comic stand on the left! Do you know from what year it dates and in what retail establishment it once did duty?

Never comes up with me. If it ever did I'd just reply that I reached the age where I came to terms with what I liked several decades ago and really don't give a damn about anyone else's thoughts on the matter. In fact I recall that one of my old buddies observed some 25 years ago that to me other people are just furniture.

There were a very few. Wonder Woman fought Egg Fu, a Communist Chinese megalomaniac, in issues 157, 158 and 166: Here are pics from CoverBrowser;

1. The Battle Aces of 3 Wars stories in All-American Men of War 89-101 had a Korean War part. All-American Men of War 101 had a particularly fabulous MIG cover and I'm a huge fan of MIG covers. 2. The Capt. Hunter storyline in Our Fighting Forces 99-106 was set in Vietnam. I'm still trying to complete my run. They're tough to find in grade. 3. The story in Star Spangled War Stories 115 featured a Korean War era helicopter.

Bad idea. I only own a 4.0 now so it should start there. Well I for one would be opposed to leaving you off the list.

Please post the unused Steve Ditko cover if you can. To me Spider-Man just looks awkward on the cover of AF15. I think it's a lot better than his cover on AF15 but Kirby's Spider-Man still looks too stocky to me. Steve Ditko drew Spider-Man as the gangly teen he was at the time.

1. I don't buy multiples of books unless I find a copy in distinctly better condition. Therefore if I already owned one of either of those books in a condition that was satisfactory in every way, I'd be looking to buy a different book. 2. Putting price aside, Amazing Fantasy ranks way down on the list of Marvel comics I'd like to own. Amazing Spider-Man 1 has more aesthetic appeal than Amazing Fantasy 15 in my eyes. I just don't like Jack Kirby's rendition of Spider-Man on the cover of AF15. And was the origin story of Spider-Man from AF15 not reprinted in its entirety in Amazing Spider-Man 1?

I disagree because there are 40x as many AF 15 buyers than SC 22. That's why I continue to add to my DC comic collection. I don't mind paying for short supply, but I really resent paying the prices caused by high demand.
