  1. Here I thought that Showcase 22 was the second most important book of the Silver Age but it's evidently not even going to make it to the top five in the polling currently being conducted on this august board. I'm wondering now whether the opinions expressed in this thread may have been the major contributing factor behind my misapprehension or whether I should blame other environmental factors? Was I sorely deceived by the commentary here or was I labouring under a delusion all along which has only now come to light?
  2. You're wrong. Just about every suburb I've ever had the misfortune of driving through has been really boring.
  3. How about Chilly Willy then? Did his appearance undergo a metamorphosis for the worse as well?
  4. Here are scans of my next two Aquaman issues:
  5. Ohhhh, so it's New Funnies that are considered trash in these here parts! Well then you've come to the right place anyway. Here are scans of my three earliest ones: New Funnies 122 New Funnies 215 New Funnies 237
  6. Given the width of the rectangle, I'd guess Elongated Man had been written there previously.
  7. Here are scans of some of the House of Mystery books in my collection:
  8. Here are scans of a few more of my DC war books featuring Commies as the enemies: (thumbs u

  11. Now wait a minute. I thought Action was a very popular title. Isn't Action 1 a really expensive book?
  12. Nobody cool collects these anymore, right? Tom and Jerry 87 Tom and Jerry 100 Tom and Jerry 103
  13. I really like the orange Batman logo against the bright pink background! The word vibrant doesn't do that combination justice. (thumbs u
  14. Is that not the Golden Gladiator's only cover appearance? A real pity if so.
  15. Omnibus? What's the point? Do the reprints in Omnibus include all the shorts, ads and letter pages or just the stories as in the Archives? Is the paper every bit as right as is that of the Archives?
  16. I have the first five Green Lantern Archive books and have read through most of the stories.
  17. Here are scans of two more of my earlier Batman books:
  18. That hussy! I notice though that Lana Lang's gone blonde with jealousy. I earned a pretty penny standing in for Supes from Curt Swan when he drew this cover: (thumbs u
  19. The artwork on that cover is really lousy. Is that one of Jack Kirby's early efforts? That's another book that should be returned to your point of purchase to get your dime back.
  20. You're right. The fellow with the cat is kind of ugly and the colour reproduction on that book is really bad. You should return it to Fox publications and get your dime back.
  21. Here are scans of a couple more nice Superman books from my collection:
  22. Here are scans of a couple more of the Green Lantern books from my collection: The #11 was the first Green Lantern I ever read as a kid and it left a profound mark on my impressionable young mind. It more so than any other single comic left within me the seed of what would turn out to be a lifelong interest in comics.
