Hepcat reacted to RickHigh in Brave and the Bold collecting thread - 2.0!
It’s been one year since I posted the above picture of my pre-hero Brave & Bold collection so I thought that I would post an update of where my collection stands a year later.
I picked up three books that I did not have:
B&B #7, CGC 7.0
B&B #18, CGC 7.5 (thanks Brad!)
B&B #21, CGC 8.0
I also managed to upgrade a few:
B&B #4, from a 6.5 to a 7.0
B&B #15, from a 6.5 to a 7.5
B&B #19, from a 6.5 to a 7.5
B&B #24 from a 6.0 to a 7.5
So I only have four more issues to go to complete the run — #’s 2, 8, 12 and 16. — all tough books to find in the grade I want. Also, I would like to upgrade the 6.5’s if the right book comes along.
Anyway, I will keep plugging along, and hopefully, complete the run at some point.

Hepcat reacted to AJD in Show us your kitties!
Lots of cats on Jungle/Jumbo comics, but I especially like this one.

Oh, Kitties. Man, that was a disappointment.
Oh, well, while I'm here...

Hepcat got a reaction from Scrooge in Show us your kitties!
I was actually going to title this thread "Show us some pus sy!" but the net nanny program here wouldn't allow it.
Here though are scans of a couple of covers from my very favourite Timely title:

Did somebody say Indians?
Isn't that word politically incorrect these days?
-
Hepcat got a reaction from Tri-Color Brian in Strange Adventures
Five more of my Strange Adventures:
Northland copy
The above five comics comprise the Animal Man subset of Strange Adventures.

Okay, I'll play:
The last is incidentally one of my very favourite covers of all time!

Hepcat got a reaction from Raze in Recent Pre-Code Purchases
From the Golden Age I'm deep into Black Cat and she was very pleasingly endowed:
I bought the #1 some 25 years ago but I still need #6,10, 11, 12, 14, 18 and 20 to complete the thirty issue run.

Hepcat got a reaction from Raze in Recent Pre-Code Purchases
I realized that I didn't have any Canadian Whites in my collection despite being ardently nationalistic in certain ways (e.g. I sneer at American college "sports" and the sissy four down football played south of the border). So I bought this one a few weeks ago:
I can always be tempted by Funny Animal comics anyway!

Jaguar #14.
Yet another parallel to Superman, as the Jaguar has a secretary who suspects who he is. Now we get to see the teen-age Jaguar.
Can it be possible that not only did Jaguar borrow on Superman as a boy stories, but also from The Oliver Twist issue of Classics Illustrated?

Hepcat got a reaction from Raze in Recent Pre-Code Purchases
This one was at my local comic shop:
I certainly wasn't looking for issues of this title, but it was there, in nice condition and very much affordable. So I bought it. That's how we collectors octopus into a whole smorgasbord of semi-related comics over time.

Hepcat got a reaction from flashlites in Flash collectors thread
Since I've posted the twelve Flash covers from my collection that I like the best, I'll now post the cover that I most dislike. After a long run of very good to fabulous Flash covers going back to issue #109 in 1959, Carmine Infantino delivered this dud:
So uninspiring and forgettable a cover that I didn't even scan it until now!

That cover and image is so wildly bizarre that it had to make my list!

Okay. Due to popular demand here are scans in chronological order of the rest of my top twelve Flash covers from the Silver Age:
